need amp for a SA-8
Soapbox replied to chris89127's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Why do you want to exceed the manufactures enclosure size recommendations of "0.6 - 1 cube ported tuned to 30-40 Hz" and in another "1.5 cubes tuned to 35 Hz would slam for a pair... a single 4" Aero-Port will be fine daily @ 15.5" length"? And Yes the RF should put out rated. -
To each his or her own. The purpose of the topic wasn't in no way to bash people; yet some chose to do so. I am curiosly looking for a cross section of the car audio enthusiast. As an an engineer I like to quantify. And also being a Sociologist I like looking at social demographics. Why is it only SQ folks act like Nazi's?

Where's the build log I keep seeing crumbs but nothing substantial.

Where's the sneak a peak? I want to see the inside not the closed up version. Nah but I did get the 4th one. You guys are going to the show with no testing? Ykes Testing should be pretty easy for me, so far I have boxes tuned to 30, 32, & 40 and one kerfed planed for 35. But you folks probably know some of the variables prior to the show.

Why you guys getting in a hurry you don't even have a home for them to nestle in. Jacob can send all of them here I have enough boxes built for 9 of them.

Here's the 3rd box. T-line needs closed up, sub holes and port hole. Not bad for 2 hrs work though. I ran the float charger on the 2 yellow tops today too.

The t-line is tuned to 30. 2-8's @ 2 ohm load SAZ 1500 = approx 945 watts or 145 over rms. I purchased the following: 1 set of dual one of quad RCA's Knu Krystal 1 3/4 grommet for the firewall 150 ft of 16 gauge knu speaker wire 100 ft of remote power wire from knu as well. Stock positive has a 80 amp fuse on it stock Stinger 80 amp fuse block for replacement of stock. 4 x-scorpion battery terminals 2 of the big 3 are completed I did all of the grounds in 0 gauge I got another 8" so I don't know what I'll end up running. Most likely 3 8's; however, with the recommended enclosure sizing from .6 to 1 cube I still have the option to just cut another hole in most of my designs leaving .75 cubes each . I have began shopping for a used 4 channel amp and think I found a zed designed crossfire 4x100 for 50 dollars. Why is it that in system installs there always seem to be 3 more things to purchase?

Hey Grandpa wants to know why his mattress pad is 12" shorter than it use to be.

I see you didn't vote I'd like to know where you draw the line.

I doubt junior knows what "Jumping the Shark" is either. I know where I stand. I like to stay around 1500 ish for daily but definitely like the option to strap amps if I feel like it. uhmm but this begs to question for a poll on comps and their power consumption vrs return too.

For those whom only run front components; I'd like you to answer 2 questions. 1st Do you ever ride in the back seat? 2 Did you enjoy your seating position and the music quality from that either the right or left side?

I have kids your age if they whined like you I'd make them wait longer. Respect and patience goes along way. There is a lot of knowledge here if you would use both your ears instead of your mouth you would learn something. Don't bother arguing back your on my ignore list.

More important is the SAZ is can be linked. For me this is a deciding factor. I have 2 cars and soon to be 2 amps if I ever get the hankering I can move one with ease. Double the power.

So what class would Jacob fall into with the magic box?
