  1. Yeah they are not turning on when trying to play cd or ipod, they do turn on with radio. I remember him going back and looking at wires when I noticed the problem, I am hoping he got the wires mixed up, but I remember him saying blue/white wire is amp turn on so I am not sure how he got it mixed up when connecting them. hope I am allowed to ask this here. he put a 60A fuse coming off the battery terminal, my jbl amp pushing subs has 2X20A fuse and my memphis audio amp has a 40A fuse. I am thinking he should have put 80A fuse coming off the battery and this would explain why my subs are not pushing like they were previously?
  2. ha yeah, he was able to put my higher end jbl 6x9's in the doors and keep the factory look of the car, extremely tight fit but possible with precise modifications. thanks for your help, I will check back tomorrow and let the forum know how things turn out
  3. it is an alpine cda-9856. Yeah I called alpine today, they are thinking the guy might have connected ( dealing with head unit and wiring harness) the amp turn on to the radio, and not the amp turn on. I do remember the guy playing around with that when I told him the cd player wasn't working. Granted he was pretty worn out from all the work he did, spent 7 hours putting everything together the way I wanted
  4. Best Buy did, the guy was baffled, he was thinking something was wrong with head unit, but it was working perfectly fine when it was removed an hour before?! I am suppose to go back Thursday to let him look at it again. Yea it has a reset button, I tried that but it didn't do anything. I was there watching him remove and install it, didn't notice him drop it or something. Granted, I should have said something but I haven't installed car audio stuff in 9 years, he didn't disconnect the battery when he was doing the installation. When I was leaving, I noticed my dash lights weren't working anymore, brought it back in, the fuse had blown. I am thinking maybe the fuse is blown or damaged on the head unit, maybe not able to put strong enough signal
  5. I recently had an apline head unit installed in a toyota camry. I have a memphis audio amplifier pushing four 6X9's and an JBL amplifier pushing two subwoofers. Everything was working fine in my jeep and then yesterday when it was installed in my camry this happened. The head unit puts out an audio signal to the amplifiers only when using the radio, the cd player and ipod can't be heard through the speakers connected to external amplifiers ( but the cd and ipod can be heard through the speakers that are being pushed through the head unit's internal amplifier).
