Crossfire! What do I win???
-
I'm a bit old school I guess but I enjoy searching the net for old school amps and subs just to check em out. Do any of you have anything old or rare laying around? Not looking to buy, just a few pics and info would be cool.

Yeah I agree. He was always on the cutting edge when it came to systems. He had the first of everything! He had some kindof handheld EQ at one time that I have never seen since then. I would actually like to find out what that thing was, back in the early 90's it was probably cutting edge tech. Kindof looked like a handheld tuner that you tune cars with but it was an EQ.

I remember growing up my brother in law had a cutlass with 2 earthquake 15's(keep in mind this was in the early 90's). He had a contest with a neighborhood guy to see whos system hit the hardest. The guy rolls up with 2 urban audio works 10's on a tiny amp. Needless to say my brother in law won and took his subs for payment. I ended up with them years later just as a novelty!

I have the Bravox 6.5 components and they sound awesome for the price. I highly recommend them. I agree with Duran either get an adaptor for the rear or dont put a rear stage in at all. I have not seen a 6x9 that compares to 6.5's in sound quality so far, plus the 6.5 market is flooded with good products which can not be said for the 6x9 market.

When I was collecting RF's, I kept getting out bid on 200a4's and the like. I need to start to sell off some old equipment soon. I just get a kick out of seeing the old amps still bringing good money. Guess it goes to show the quality they brought. I always had a thing for PPI since thats what the older guys had when I was coming up. The chrome PC amps are a thing of beauty. The 200a4 I am using now I picked up for $70 off ebay and its in perfect shape.

Cool, I am running a 200a4 on my mids and highs. I like to have at least one old school amp in every system I build. I want to go with a PPI PC400 but I keep getting outbid on them.

Audio Wrap vs Second Skin vs Fatmat vs Sound Deadener Showdown vs Edea
Jbabycsx replied to Cthedinger's topic in Product Reviews
I am glad to see more of these tests/reviews, however I would like to see them done in a more scientific way. I wonder how hard it would be to send samples to a university or tech college to get them to test them? The old wrap a can in deadner is not really enough of a test to see which is a superior product. I also think it is shitty of second skin which I have in my car to not send you any of their product. Over at SMD they are talking about how the thread will be closed because of second skin being the "official deadner of SMD" which again is shitty. -

Go to *****.com and check out the torres' calculator in the subwoofer/enclosure part of the forum. It helps out a lot.

I just got two Audioque HD 12's and I need to know if they will perform well using the SSA XCON dual 12 box design. They will be powered by a 3000d in a 90 Mustang. I sent the box designs to a builder but he is not familier with Audioque. What do you guys think? Need feedback ASAP!!

So I should make the port wider and shorter in length to raise the tune to around that level right?

Nobody??

Looks good. I was driving around today wondering how I could use steel in my own box, since working with metal is what I'm good at. Keep it up.

I have a 90 GT Mustang and I am stuck between two different set ups. I either want to go with two ICON 12's or a single XCON 15. I have never heard either set up. I am using a 3000d for power with good electricals. My question is which will be better from as far as output? I know two 12's is more cone area but with lower power. The 15 would be less cone area but is rated for 750 more watts. I plan on using the box specs on the SSA forum. Any ideas or advice?

How about if the guy says that to run 1/0 wire from your battery to your 3000d is "overkill", all you need is 4 gauge. Kind of seems not knowledgeable to me! Then in your case the guy isn't... LOL

Yeah the XCON 12's are a little to pricey for me right now. I will just go with the ICON 12's with d1 coils unless I can find something used on here that I like better for around the same money. Trying to find help around my home is a lost cause. I just went to my local audio shop this is how our conversation went. Me- I'm looking for about 30ft of 1/0 wire to run a second battery to my amp. Owner- 2nd battery? What amp are you using? Me- A Sundown 3000d. Owner- Hmm...never heard of it. Must be a lower priced entry level amp. Me- SIGH....

If you really want to get away from rap there are a couple of country songs that get low. Check these out Alan Jackson-Blues man Alan Jacson-The way I am Deana Carter-Before we ever heard goodbye Buckethead always sounds good as well.

I hope so. I got mine for $160 shipped off Ebay so if they sound good it will be worth it.
-
I just bought a set of Bravox CS-60K 6.5's new off of Ebay and was wondering if anybody has any experience with this component set. I got them for a lot less than the new set goes for so I figure it couldt hurt to give them a try.

Mysterious Amp
Jbabycsx replied to Kent535's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Looks more like an old wooden nightstand not a display. The black thing right behind the "amp" is a Vizio plasma tv. It looks like a giant surge protector to me, or perhaps somekind of inline device on a household electronic.
