Happy Birthday Mark!!!

Yes, with rear seats up I can hear so much bass trapped in the trunk... it pisses me off Have you popped out the ski port? It is a good option for doing a blow through. I have been trying to design one for mine, i have a 01 330I. But all the designs require a port longer than i want. I believe it would certainly be possible with that type of setup. Best of luck and let me know, definitely keep me informed on how you are doing with it. I dont think I have the ski port. I only have a middle thing that comes down for the arms and has cup holders. I will be going to the dealer very soon to see if they can put folded down sits. That would definitely help me out and most likely enjoy 3x the bass I can hear and feel right now.

Wait a min sir So a 3-way setup cannot keep up with 2 18"s? What about 2 12"s XCONS? Since I dont plan on making custom door panels on my bimmer, just wanna make sure I will be able to hear mids and highs. I plan on replacing the factory speakers and putting an amp on them. Hopefully 2 12 xcons dont put them to shame.

New Crescendo amps FTMFW!!!!!!!

The 3500 looks like a champ. If the price is true and it performs, then I might have to switch from Sundown. It hurts to pay $1125. Now we can get a very similar (or better?) amp for $580. Just waiting to get reviews once they come out to pull the trigger -
here is a million dollar question I plan on running the following Two 8" midbass drivers which I want to do 63hz to 120hz (not sure if I should set to maybe 200hz) Two 4" midrange drivers which I want to do 120hz to 2500hz Two 1" tweeters which I want to do 2500hz to + Will a Leviathan II be able to fill my needs? I wish Sundown had a 6 channel amp so, the Leviathan seems like my best option.

Please let us know how they compare to the XCON OMG, I wish I could have a demo of each. Cant decide what to get lol

Is it possible to hit 150 with 2 12s on a ported enclosure with 2k rms in a trunk with NO folded rear seats and db meter on the front of the dash? My BMW doesnt have the folded rear seats options and Im planning on putting 2 XCON 12s. I really really want to hit 150 in the trunk that is well sealed.

If the midbass driver was 8" and the midrange a 4", I would be all over this. I love Bravox quality. Incredibly clear highs.

Well, there is a point in which I can increase the gain in the bass knob, but the sub wont get louder and it wont move more at certain point and seems to get stressed. But most of the time I will play my sub loud and using the volume knob on the radio I calculate the notch-before-the-burning-smell point.
-
So I just moved my Pioneer sub into my BMW 328i. Same enclosure, same amp. New power/ground wires, new rcas, new speaker wire. The headunit is BMWs factory and the amp is getting signal from a LOC that is connected to the BMWs factory amplifier. The subwoofer does NOT sound the same anymore as expected. But the problem is that its not close to as loud as it was on the expedition. They told me the BMW has a well-sealed trunk, could this be the reason why Im somehow not feeling the bass anymore? I also had to lower the gains a bit (from what I had it on the expedition) and the sub gets hot faster and my trunk has been getting that burning smell constantly since I installed it at noon. So I know that means lower the volume, but then I lose most of the bass. My crossovers still the same as when I had my sub in the expedition. Im also using a 300amp fuse for my knukonceptz 0 gauge cable. I had a 100amp fuse on my RF 4 gauge in the expedition. Can anyone tell me whats going on? shouldnt it be louder since its a smaller car? or at least equivalent?
-
Well, I have tried sub aiming the trunk lid, facing the rear sits, and facing the roof. Best position so far is facing the rear sits. To set gains, I play a 50hz tone (from Realm of Excursion) and set it a notch before the sub looks to be stressing.

Yeah I already have a 12" enclosure. Im scared the XCON might end up breaking it since its single baffle lol Interesting what denim has mentioned. Another alternative could be to use my current money to build the dual xcon box and then just buy both together. I think that would work best.
-
So im planning on getting 2 12" xcons I have the money to get one right now. I already have a 12" enclosure. I could order one (when they become available) and use it on the current enclosure while I wait a bit til I can get the 2nd one. My question is, will there be any unbalance or noticeable difference when it comes to the break-in period? If I go this way, by the time I get the 2nd one, the first one might be already breaking in and I wouldn't like unbalanced bass. Sorry if this is a really stupid thread, I dont know if such thing is possible or if humans can even hear such a difference. But I rather ask than regret in the future.
-
Would you recommend that I wait instead of rushing? or will the effect be so minimal and not noticeable that I can careless about it?
-
Any ideas or possible solution?

OMG those are very sexy I wish I could!

burko, where is this going into? sounds like you are young (not that Im too old anyways lol), but cool to see people starting on the right path from a young age. Im tired of seeing young people brag about their sonys, kickers and walmart branded subs. And I still have to find someone who has heard about sundown, fi, ssa, aa or even xs batteries lol

If anyone is interested, Ill be having my CF60CS for sale very soon. Already took them out of the car, just need some pics. Great components, but my bimmer wont take 6.5s so they must go rather than keeping them in the closet.
-
I dont know. Thats why Im afraid to remove it. Might be connected to the area behind the rear seats (where the rear speakers are at)? I dont see how can I allow bass to pass through to the cabin. I cant wait to replace my pioneer with some xcons or btls but I wish I could find a solution for this too.

distortion--what exactly is it?
slim142 replied to nick_19's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would like impious to come and answer this. Good answer Alton. Seems very reasonable. -
Does this mean a company will finally give me some hope to put a better alternator in my BMW in case I decide to get a better one?
-
I like the fact that Im learning a few things from this thread.

Looks great! Just what I read on SDS page, only applying 25% of the surface is necessary to achieve this. But have you tested your setup already? Can you notice differences? Have you hit your trunk? can you hear the sound difference? Also, I dont understand yet, why fill the speaker with that white stuff? First time I see this.

Heard on facebook there was a delay on some subwoofer parts, I think this has affected the xcon availability? If so, when will the D1s come back in stock? I will be ordering 2 very soon. Thanks
