None of my subs work despite different setups
aimone replied to mlcantin's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
do like breeze said run new speaker wire from subs to amp....if that dont work i'd get a new set of rca's. i've had this problem before with rca's crapping out especially cheap ones -
wut is ur box tuned at? it should be movin more air/flexin more shit on that low low note of bass i love you and lower end of that sweep. i have a single rf power hx2 15 in a very very small sealed box and i had it in the backseat of a hatch mustang and even being sealed i had rediculous flex on that low low note. i know theres a big difference between my car and yours and i have a bit more cone area but a btl ported should easily out do a sealed 15 that shouldnt be sealed..... anyone else agree? nice setup btw

diggin that blazer for sure and really lovin that mullet! i was rockin the mullet back then 2 but i was only like 6yrs old

carburator cleaner or goof off is good too. or any kind of industrial solvent i rebuild oil field equipment for a living and goof off and klutter kutter only put a dent in the nasty grease, oil, mud, parafin mixture +anything else drilled through but we use industrial solvent and it'll take anything off anything. also did u just stick it on there? or use a roller of sumsort like ur supposed to do? cuz ive seen arizona cars that peel n seal stayed on the roof well over a yr no problem

yo man still cant wait to hear this thing lol....... but thought i'd ask since ur in OK wut'r those subs u got hangin n layin around waitin on recones? also u interested in selling any? im looking for a new sub for a good deal n sumthing needing a recone is right up my alley lol. i got a rf power hx2 15 w/ a blown coil and its just not enough only on one coil lol. plus i cant find a recone for it w/out shipping the sub which can get expensive

ya try to swap ur wires at the amp from + to - and - to + i've had subs completely change my opinion by doing so. also u might try hooking ur amp up to other sub/subs possibly a friends if u dont have extras layin around. then if that dont work id say its ur box maybe try tunin about 33hz with summore port area

if i happend to rip it apart and take measurements of the motor, like the gap and pole and stuff with a caliper and take pics of it would help u tell me if u could do it right?

so i just got done looking at the reconed ufo btls thread u did annd got kinda excited cuz i didnt know u did custom recones. i've got a rockford power series hx2 15 with a blown coil. its a d2 ohm 4" coil rated at 1000wrms 2000wmax. i ran the sub on a 500wrms bazooka amp for about 3 months until i got my saz1500. within 3-4 days i was to gain happy i guess and got it to hot, dustcap was literally to hot to touch. it just melted a section of the coil about 1/4" long other then that one spot the entire coil is still bright n shiny. think u could hook sumthing up on this thing? i cant find recones for this thing anymore and trust your work alot more the getting a psi recone. i would like a coil i wont damage easily with the saz1500 if we could make this work i would've emailed u but couldnt find your email address and couldnt remember it. hit me back here or email me at [email protected]

recommendation for convertible mustang
aimone replied to PhillBoy20XD6's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
what amp and head unit u runnin? i've got a single fosgate power hx2 runnin on one coil cause i killed the other when i got a saz1500 which im still usin. i had it in a 4ft^3 tuned at 33hz bolted in place of of my backseat of a 76 caprice. it really impressed me and made ppl bail out. but then i got my current ride which is a 92 hatchback mustang. same sub, same amp, cheap eclipse h/u with no sub outs also hooked to a early 90's pioneer eq for its sub crossover. now my main problem is i needed my backseat in this car so i hacked my big box to where it would fit in the hatch and its sealed maybe 2ft^3. my sub isnt supposed to be run sealed, got a shitty h/u, and stock electrical. its maybe half as loud as b4 when it was ported and on a good pioneer h/u. i seen ur install and ur box looks ok depending on the rest u should get pretty loud. if i were u i'd put the type AAAAR's in a ported box on a good amp and ou'll be louder then the re also build a box dont use prefab boxs if u want a bigger ALT. but dont wanna dish out the money for a h/o alt, find a 5.0 stang and it has a higher amperage alt and run ur big 3 srry for the long ass post -
sure you can go back just takes a parts truck and some skills lol. . . but ya man let me know when ur gonna be in okc and ill for sure meet up with u for demos.....never in person have i seen a setup this serious lol and never heard a setup that for sure hit 150+. so im in for a mind blowing treat

what do you think about this amp? looks good.
aimone replied to AJ Abreu's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i think 1" might be the common thickness in ur country but in the u.s. 3/4" mdf is what is mostly used. and a 4'x8' sheet runs about $30-35 bucks. if u measure right using the most of a sheet with minimal scrap i was able to pull off a 4ft^3 slot ported box. i also double baffled and doubled the back out of 2 sheets. plus had enough scraps left to build a small sealed 12 box. also wuts this multiplex u speak of? is it what we call birch ply? birch is a little more expensive then mdf here, but dont cost enough to run $300 bucks for one box build unless ur building BIG -

man imma give u a tip since ur new to the game. DONT GET UR SHIT INSTALLED BY A "PROFESSIONAL"!...Just cuz they own or work at a shop doesnt mean they know what there doing. honestly i love the whole idea of go big the first time but thats a big task to get urself into not knowing ur audio. id start with something smaller and do your research and do it yourself. 1. its cheaper 2. you will know ur systems limits and 3. u will learn car audio and love it that much more. but to each there own i guess man.. look thrue build logs u can learn alot that way -
thats wuts up i love 8's....how much they cost? now u need to put em in a box or pods or wutever ur doin with em

so this guy is wantin to buy my saz1500 for $300(which i turned down) or trade me a dd m1a. i told him id be screwin myself out of 300w rated power and more "real" power. then he says saz is rated at 1500 @ 14.4v so i brought up jacobs testing thread and proved that it does well over 1500 at 12.8. so he goes on to say the dd is actually a better quality built amp and will be about even with the saz at 1ohm cuz the dd's 1200 rating is at 11.4v. and he said he needs a amp thats half ohm stable even though they r both 1ohm stable he knows the the saz can take a .5 load. which the saz can actually go lower ohm wise. i told him to throw something or some 80 cash (i need a recone) with the m1a and id do it which he declined. but anyway is the m1a as tough & and powerful as the saz1500 at 1ohm? i just dont believe its better built or just as powerful.....plus its not as sexy as a sundown lol
