wow.......this kid is stupidly entertaining. one question to the kid do you even know how hard it is to get damn loud out of the trunk? especially in a lincoln with full interior? i to drive a lincoln and they arent the easiest car to get loud.

looking to get a good headunit pioneer preferred *used*
aimone posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i was gonna put this in the for sale/wanted section but i didnt know how well that would go over with mods. so im looking to upgrade to a good headunit. i just traded the pioneer i had it wasnt anything special just plain jane with sub outputs. im wanting one with a motorized face and graphics. i dont really care if it has usb or aux in as i dont ever use them. i used to have a deh-p680mp that i absolutely loved. im not really interested in the newest "look" unless its the style with the bigger volume knob like a 6000ub. im also open to a possible kenwood or jvc arsenal if it looks good and the price is right so if anyone has any head units collecting dust let me know what you have -
Will this headunit work?:

sure it will work.... but you should look into a crossover or a head unit with sub outputs other wise you will have vocals and all playing thrue your woofers -

start with a lower tuned box. why would you run the bc3500 below 1ohm if the sp4 is a 3000w rms sub?

i ordered an sp4 on feb 14th they sent me an email on the 25th that said awaiting shipment and an hour later i got one that said awaiting fulfillment. so a few days later i emailed them asking what was up and they said it was in the build process. but today i got a call from shawn apologizing and saying they are really backed up and to make it up they are throwing in some extra goodies my order is #1172. so you've still got a bit of a wait.

Can you post pictures? im interested to see how your box is done. also what ohm are you running the subs at? have you tried turning your gain up on the amp just to see if it changes anything? you might also look into a ported box that will make a huge difference in output i dont know jack about the pac stuff or going thru factory stereos im just putting so thoughts out there

if you never plan on using that fuse block for its real purpose u can pull the volt meter out. i had one identical to it and pulled the meter and used a length of speaker wire and mounted the meter up front and ran it to my amp. it worked great for a couple of years

ok so i've got an sp4 15 on the way. its going in the trunk of a 94 lincoln mark 8. i've built a box already thats a tight fit to get into the trunk and its only 3.5ft^3 tuned at 33hz. ive got plenty of trunkspace left the problem is getting anything bigger thru the trunk opening. so im coming to you guys for help/tips for building in the trunk. so what would be the easiest was to assemble in the trunk?

swift--- i love my mark and am looking into swapping out the air ride im either gonna use all the suspension out of a thunderbird the same year or going with a oem airbag kit i found in town for less then $500... and very interesred to hear how you squeezed two 15's in the trunk frogcase--- i was looking into the kreg thing last night is this the one your talking bout? http://www.amazon.com/Kreg-MKJKIT-Mini-Jig-Kit/dp/B00065WPP2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1361557196&sr=8-4&keywords=pocket+screw+jig+kit mlcantin--- because i couldnt beat the price and wanted a 15...also planned on building in the trunk from the start that way noone can get it out in a hurry

if you have no plans on re installing the rear seat id say drill those holes out and ground straight to the frame. some people swear by grounding to the frame ive done it and didnt see a difference id just ground to the hole with a bolt and washers -
