alton designed it for me and he said"this is 3.5cuft net, including the sub and port displacment the box is 4.66 cuft. The best use of space I could come up with is 20" H x 15" D x 35.750" W with a 3" port width and total length of 31" for 30hz tuning" and its outter dims... its mounted in the backseat well replacing my backseat of a 76 chevy caprice. sub and port facing windshield also sub is centered aiming between the front seats with port on passenger side. right now its powered by a monoblock bazooka 500w rms(supposedly) but i got a saz1500 fixin to be sent out for repair while i build a new box........i used the backseat because the trunk would take WAAYYYY to much time and money to seal off due to rust and stop rattles

cause im for sure sending one of my amps to db-r (the one im gonna use). and i wanted the circuit diagram so i could get the other one fixed locally cause it would be cheaper and wont have to worry bout shipping. there for i will make more profit when i sell it. the local place has never worked on a sundown just heard of them and said he would need the schematics. o well i guess it will go in the closet till i get the money and and a some subs for it

can i order just a bass knob for an saz 1500?
-
so my dads drag racing buddy has a car audio shop and he has 2 saz1500d's that need repaired. waitin to here if he can get it done. but would it be cheaper if i got them from him as is for cheap and sent them for repair? if so where would i send them and what would be the average pricing? theres a place her in oklahoma city called toms two way or sumthin like that that repairs all kinds of electronics including amps. would that be a good idea?

ok so i got them today just for shits and giggles i hooked them to a power supply in my room just to try them. one kicks on fine but one of the lil parts inside starts smoking and its swollen like its gonna pop. the other one kicks on for about 2 seconds then shuts off the power supply. my amp i have in my car does the same thing as the second one. so imma try it in my car just to try it.. the guy i got them from said they were strapped on a btl 18. the ground or pos. i dont remember came off the second battery and fried the power supplies.........so in a week or two im sending one to db-r and the other one will set until i got the money to ship it. . .

ok so last night and all day today everythings been great. setup has been beatin pretty good. ok so i went to my ol' lady's house today and had no problems what so ever on the way. my car set for 4-5 hours. i go to leave and my car wouldnt start. thought it might be a loose batt terminal checked that didnt work. my voltage meter said 12.8 turn the key and it would go to 0.0 then to 9.0 and back to 12.8. ended up using a jump box to get it started and voltage went right up to like 15.3 with the headlights on. if i turned my volume up over 1/4 up the stereo would shut off ,lights would dim ,and voltage would drop to like 9.0 ...hit the highway and i could turn it bout 1/2 way up before it did that again........ so what do ya'll think? battery or alt? in about 2 weeks im gettin a new big batt up front and either a h/o alt or a 100amp alt from a suburban and a 2nd batt in the rear..... i just gotta get by for now till i get my money in 2 weeks car is a 76 chevy caprice stock alt and batt 4 ga big 3 . . . .going to 1/0 in 2 weeks also any help?

amp problem to much vibration
aimone posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
ok so i learned with my last amp not to bolt it to the box.....well ive got my newest one bolted down between my front seats with the sub replacing the back seat and the amp is vibrating to much and cuts out. but i tap it and press down on it to keep it from vibrating and its fine.....now what i wanna know how can i mount the amp im getting in a few weeks so i wont have to worry about this problem happening to a brand new amp after awhile....anyone else ever have this problem? -
amp problem to much vibration

sub - rf power hx2 15 - 4.66cuft slot ported tuned at 30 hz amp is temporary its the biggest i had layin around - bazooka 1500.1 - mono 500rms car - 76 caprice stock electrical w/ big 3 upgrade voltage meter runs 14.6-15.0 normal when bass is cranked doesnt drop below 12v ok i mounted bolted down a piece of mdf and my amps are mounted to it and the mdf is nice and tight and doesnt move when u try to wiggle it.....i took my backseat out bolted a platform there and mounted the enclosure to it separated by some deadiner... its not the wood shaking its my whole car .lol. front seats vibrate pretty good my ol' lady kinda likes it lol.... and i cant put the amp in the trunk cause it leaks hardcore needs the rust in the trunk fixed and a new lid seal so basically try something rubbery between the amp and mdf its mounted to and come back with the results...what about some rubber feet that will raise the amp and absorb -
i live in a pretty bad neighborhood w/ no alarm and i beat the hell outta my system everywhere especially my house...where else am i supposed to make adjustments and stuff specially since my garage has my dads race cars in it.... and my rockford power hx2 15 is mounted to the floor where my backseat was with my amps between the drivers seat....plus one of my doors dont lock(4 door), no window tint, and u can pull the driver window stick your arm thru and unlock it......but i dont sleep at night and w/ my dog always in the house windows and my security camera i dont worry much....the most they will do is trash my sub but thats what recones r for lol

couple ?'s reguarding amps and alarm
aimone posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
1st the alarm ? is how many of u guys dont have alarms and live in not so safe neighborhoods? like i live in a not so safe area of my town w/ no alarm and my sub sittin in the back seat and the amp bolted between my front seats w/ no alarm i worry but not that much cause im usually awake all night and can hear my old doors squeak if they open but if sumone did get in it it would take 2 people to get the sb out anyone else go unprotected? 2nd is about amps in a few weeks i will be getting a new amp and h/u. if i can find a used sundown or a refurb at a decent price i for sure want that. as of now i only need 1000rms but i wanna get enough power to not have to get another amp when i add another sub. my budget will be around $500 max w/ shipping. if i cant get a sundown what would u guys recommend? prefer new but will take used if its LNIB. i hear good and bad things about hifonics and ive kinda got an interest in an audiopipe 3000.1 or maybe sumthing oldschool thats really long like long enough to stretch across my backseat............thanx in advance -
