    sundown dealer in oklahoma?

all i know him by is d...... he has a audio/pawnshop called midwest pawn
  2. so check this b.s. i bought a couple saz1500s a while back that needed repair. the guy i got them from is saying he's a dealer for sundown now and that its not possible for me to get my amps fixed properly by sundown without going thru a sundown rep. i called b.s. on it and told him i talked to jacob and he referred me to db-r since they are the only guys certified to rebuild sundown amps. he swears that i cant get them fixed and he doesnt believe my amps are at db-r already......... now is this guy really a rep for sundown in oklahoma city? even if he is i'd still rather buy my shit from ssa

    sundown dealer in oklahoma?

ive got a rockford fosgate POWER hx2 15 in a 3.6ft^2 ported at 40hz bolted down where my backseat used to be lol...as of now its only on a bazooka 500.1 wired to 4 ohm cause its not 1 ohm stable. its pretty loud considering its only on 250wrms too loud for my ol' lady lol. talked to db-r today and my amp should be done next week. the way it is now its louder then anyone i personally know with beats. i've never personally heard anything on a sundown so i dunno wut to expect im excited to put it to the test

    butyl rope

how much does the sds butyl rope cost? cause ive got several 100' rolls of butyl tape and a couple rolls of what looks just like the sds butyl rope that i got from my cuzzin the installs windshield since its the same thing wouldnt window sealant be cheaper?
  5. ok so i have a rockford fosgate power hx2 in a 4.6cuft ported at 40hz. my saz1500 is on its way to db-r for repair. well i got this sub bnib and the only amp i've had on it is a bazooka 500wrms mono. for like 2 months it was wired at 1ohm.well the amp is only 2 ohm stable and it decided it wasnt gonna except the 1ohm load anymore. so its at 4ohm now which would be around 250wrms. i've read and heard that u can underpower subs but read alot more that that is b.s. well the sub is rated at 300-1000wrms and i've been thinkin bout this alot. well i took my ol' lady to work earlier and im hearing what sounds like sumthing againts the box rattling. my box is mounted where my backseat once was. so i look all around the box nothing is touching it. so i turn up bass i love u to try and figure it out and it kinda sounds like the sub, like a tinsel lead hitting the cone. but also kinda sounds like sumthin to do with the box. if it wasnt pouring rain id be able to check better. but anyway my question is could only 250w have hurt my baby? since it sounds like a tinsel lead slappin im concerned cause just the other day my dad said underpowering a sub can cause tinsel leads the fuck up because of distortion. i dont turn it up till it distorts either

  10. i agree with duran u probably killed the amp which in turn killed the type x have u tried the amp on another speaker?

I am going to jump off a cliff!

yeah man look thru the build logs section u will learn alot and the most important things to know that i learned from recently building my first box..... 1. definately use a table saw or a skil-saw w/ something clamped to the board to ensure a straight cut 2.measure everything multiple times before you start your cuts 3.pre-drill holes before putting screws in...counter sinks are great so your screws are flush with the wood 4. use a duble baffle(2 pieces of wood glued and screwed that u mount the speakers to) and bracing. without bracing ur box will flex which sucks cause it starts coming apart and leaking air 5. seal every edge that screws together

    two 15" re audio srx?

any box would make them better then cvr's lol...........cvrs are wack but neway go ported if u want them louder sealed boxes kill alot of ur output........the type of music you listen to will help determine whate you should tune at. i listen to mostly rap/hiphop....i.e. jeezy gucci .... but the guys on here told me to tune the box around 40hz with the music i play. it hits the higher notes damn good and still slams on the lows. i had it ported at 30hz 1st and the lows are all that sounded good
  14. if its louder and sounds good yea u did it right. u could turn whatever filter u mentioned at the end of your last post up a little bit if u want a little bass unless the tweets cant handle it and start poppin and shit....... wow i finally helped someone on here instead of being the one needing help lol
  15. is that box sealed? that shirt would move a hell of alot more if it were ported. also what the hell do u need a line driver for? they r a waste of time unless u intend on fuckin sumthin up like the beast of an amp
  16. im not to familiar with running mids/highs from an amp, usually just use my h.u. plus ive never had any decent mids or highs but im thinkin try full range. and slowly turn your gain up on the full range so u dont beat the type s's to death. if theres to much bass going to them turn up the hpf knob. and remember on mids and highs theres no need for the low pass. low pass is for subs it pretty much takes the vocals and instuments out of the music so there is only bass. also what kind of head unit u running? also like don ganso was saying dont turn gain all the way up id say maybe 3/4. turning it all the way up leads to clipping which in turn leads to frying the speakers
  17. Probably the fact that you have the low pass on and the high pass all the way down considering its not a subwoofer u need the high pass lpf is subs and hpf is for mids and highs.....if it has full range use that

    More Sundown Issues Unfortunately

ok this thread has got me kind of scared now....cause im shipping 2 saz1500's to db-r in the morning....after reading your problems man it makes me wonder why there would be problems like this. and how chris could "miss" something because from what he told me and i quote "he doesnt just fix whats wrong he does a complete reuild not half assed work". so how could shit like this happen if its a "complete rebuild"? cause i could save my self the headache and cash and get it done locally for half the price and by a guy with 25 yrs expierience. but im having faith im db-r and taking my fellow ssa guys advice and going thru db-r

    Legit Site?

yo man i was in the same predicament a couple months ago. i got some help from people on here for free + using a few box calculators. the RE box calc. seems to be pretty good. it just doesnt factor in bracing displacement or double baffle. from the help of this forum and google i've got the basics of designing basic slot port boxes. try the calcs or pm me withs the amount of room u got to play with and ill see wut i can come up with
