ok so i've went thru 3 box designs and im just not happy. sub- rf power hx2 15 dual 2 amp- saz1500 @1 ohm gain bout half way h/u- pioneer deh-680mp stock electrical for now 76' caprice so i wanna get the most outta my sub as i can in the trunk. i mean loudest, movin air, flexing shit (1&2 were in backseat) first box was 4cu ft @30...too low 2nd was same box retuned to 40hz....to high 3rd little over 4cu @ 33hzin trunk....great freq response i mean its louder then most people i pull up next to. but i think the sub can do more what really pisses me off is my uncle has my kicker l7 8" on a 4ch usamp cant remember what model. like 900w rms is what he said i think . but it is rediculous in his

had to edit hit enter on accident lol

like the title says is there a big audible difference between 33hz and 34hz?
-
and if u mean loudness difference it was about the same both ways just mor feel faced up
-
loud as shit lol volume was usually around 40 on my pioneer h/u max volume is like 62

i removed my backseat and had a board bolted in its place and had my box mounted to it with my fosgate power hx2 facing up. and it shook the hell out of my car until i double baffled my box. it also did the same facing foward toward the windshield. i have since moved it to the trunk and bolted it down and the the rear end of my car flexs and shakes. not so much in the front half tho

yeah box tuning. . . cause i found a design im gonna build with dual slot ports instead of just 1 port. it will be 4 ft^3 tuned at 34hz. my current box is 4ft^3 single port tuned at 33hz. i can hear a difference between 30hz and 33hz my first box was tuned at 30 and it was all low's and for example the high note on jeezy's white girl sounded like ass. now my 33hz box has a better freq. range dont bash me for this but what does o.p stand for? just askin cause i've seen "noobs" called that...i consider myself intermediate lol not a noob
-
hey your not the only one with cutting issues lol. i built a new box 4 my fosgate power hx2 15 the other day and i had all my cuts straight until i got to the baffle and the top. i used to double baffle from my previous box and the last cut on it was jacked and the top was a little short. but hey caulk, screws and mdf scraps fixed that. its in a trunk of an ugly ol' car so noone sees it

start with electrical and sound deadining. getting them outta the way will save u time and money down the road. then once thats out of the way make sure your h/u has sub outputs. next comes the amp go sundown u wont regret i'd say get in on the saz2500 presale or find a used 2000d for a btl. then get a box built or get to work building a box slap all the ingredients together and lose a little bit of hearing lol

got my vote man......i dont really care whos setup is better twistedchild makes some funny ass video's lol

ive got a 76 caprice and last year i had 2 treo 15's and that was they loudest i've gotten so far. also had 4 12's before that and they didnt impress me hell i dont remember wut brand. if you havent already i strongly advise deadining the rear dash, area between back window and trunklid, and the trunk lid. because they flex hard and rattle bad . and even use expanding foam and fill the trunklid itsself because the two 2 layers of the trunk lid tend to seperate and ratlle annoyingly loud. the flex is so bad i've ended up flexing the back window loose causing it to slap and rattle too. so brace and dampin b4 you get serious system in our style cars.. post up some pics of your big body i got a build log if u can find it

i myself bang at stoplights but i pay attention to my surroundings and if there's old folks or anyone that looks over 40 and wouldnt like it i pause it. and if they look like decent people and there on there phones ill turn it down. but if its anyone under 30 or some random skank or douchbag with an expensive car and there on there phones i bang full tilt just cause the looks i get r funny. if its someone who seems cool or has kids in the car ill turn it down. plus its louder when im at a stop rather than rolling(no a/c windows down). if ur at a stop and wanna bang without going to neutral just hold the brake and ease on the gas stalll it up like u would a race car -
i used sum calc last night that sumone on here made and designed a box not much different from urs 16.5 h 30 w 25 d and that said it was close to 6ft^3 before port disp. which was 3" wide and 15" tall and like 21" long tuned at 33.08, also with double baffle and with displacent of my fosgate power hx2 15 and 3" 45'd corners it said it was right at 4ft^3 so is it not right either?
-
yeah home depot dont do precision cuts i was pissed. and lowes here in oklahoma city costs like 15 bucks more for a sheet of 3/4 mdf than h.d.
-
ok so i really dont trust most of the box calcs. online so i've been researching formulas and anything i need to know about designing on my own. so anyone with advice please put in your two cents..... tell me if i got this much figured out: 1). to come up with the ft^3 of the box you multiply length x width x height using the inner dimensions. then take the total of that and divide by 1728 which is the in^3 of 1 cubic ft. 2). then to factor in port, bracing, and driver displacement you use the L x W x H on each item and subtract it from the ft^3 3). for box's with a slanted front. for example the top is 5" and the bottom is 15" you find the average of them by adding them 5+15=20. then divide by 2 20/2=10. use the volume formula with 10 and there's your cubic feet. now for some questions 1). whats the formula to determine the tuning freq./port length on slot ported and round ports? 2). doin 45's in corners. when im factoring that in would i use the angled box formula to determine overall volume after displacement? any info i can get would be great and much appreciated also if u know great links tor tips and tutorials please post up. once i get the tuning figured out ill make vids/tutorials on everything including kerfing.

yeah well i wanna learn the art of box building not just a box for my sub. you know so i can build other boxes for friends and shit. but i've got a fosgate power hx2 15 if u can do me a design 4ft^3 kerfed port tuned at 33hz witth 45'd corners and double baffle that would be great......most people wont do a design like that free -
sorry adrian sold one of the saz's for $150 which in turn paid for the other to get fixed by db-r. so i pretty much got a saz1500 for free lol
-
anyone ever heard of them? they look to be pretty beastly IndexFlash
-
damn nice build you got goin here. your boy will have a sweet ride when done. plus he will respect it since he is putting hard work in it. how much you got invested in this car already?
-
well its like sundown i live in oklahoma city digital designs is based here and i've only met 1 person that has heard of sundown, which is the guy i bought 2 dead saz1500's from for $150. but black market subs look like they bang pretty hard from watchin on youtube. i like the oversized dustcaps like the newer model dd's

burn mp3 cd's they will hold close to 200 songs most stereos play them -
hey its possible to fit large objects in small spaces its all about the determination...lol instead of buying a new btl just try other box's and maybe a sundown or cresendo 3kw amp since there the same and like 1/2 the price what ohm load u wired at?

thats what up my dad was just talking about needin something like this on his drag car
