    Hotdog69's Build Log

These distribution blocks are made by Toolman from c a c o. I bought them from 18inchjeepin 3" which is really not enough room. I am have been thinking about removing the amp mount which will free me up another 2" which will be more suitable of a range in my vehicle. I would like to have 6" because that seems to bee the sweet spot on the meter.
  2. Got my new port in tuned to 39.75hz.. Made a good difference dropping 3hz

    Hotdog69's Build Log

I think I may have it now.. Yesterday I made a new port for my box. I dropped the tuning from 43hz to 39.75hz and it made a really good difference. I must have been tuned to high to begin with. pic's of the new port in but not painted yet. Still have to fill in the rest of the outside of the port yet before I paint in. The inside of the pore is sealed around the edges though. I used a router bit and did round overs on all the edges and sanded them down. The inside of the port was sanded so it was real smooth. I'll have to get it tested again but I can say it has to be a 150 sealed on dash now.

Thank you.. so I ended up getting a better distro block and a few 3/0 to 1/0 reducers 4 of them Also got my best score to date on the dash 149.7db at 46hz Rebuilt another port today and tuned to 39.75hz old tune was 43hz. I think I might have my 150 on the dash now with new port.. have to wait until I get on the meter again for results but definitely hitting harder.

    Sundownone / DTF Show vid's I took

You know what was really nice about this show is the fact that it is not a sanctioned event. People come to get metered and have fun, lots of demoing and just hanging out and having a good time. I got a chance to hear some of the loudest ground pounders in a multiple state event. I got to see a lot of surprise vehicles putting up some crazy numbers. out of over 100 people that went through the lanes about 20+ were over 150db And that Barney van was straight up Crazy loud I was 75+ feet away from it and had to have a conversation by talking to someone at there ear like at a concert. If anyone is willing to drive to this event next year I encourage it because two years in a row now it has been fantastic.

    Gym FAIL moments

I was doing 120lb dumbbell press on a decline bench once and it was a to failure set and my left arm just gave out and the 120lb dumbbell fell on my chest. I was alright though, I think it was because the chest muscle was fully pumped after the set.

I have one more input on the back of the radio that I use for the ipod. Also there is a usb port on the omnifi that is used for the wifi adapter, however if you use openfi for the dmp1 you can use a usb drive and openfi will read the music of of the usb drive.

    rodents eating car wires help?????

My brother had this exact same problem.. squirls chewed through his wiring in his durango. He spend like 1200.00 to have all the wires replaced and the squirls chewed through it again. Now my brother has a pretty good temper so he went out and bought a pellet gun and went home and shot 9 squirls that he had coming around his area. He has not had a problem since.

Here is one part of my build I have really never shown. Here is the Rockford Fosgate Omnifi DMP1 which is a pretty sweet unit. With this unit you can sync wireless with the home pc if you wanted to but I have never used that feature. Omnifi has is own proprietary format but I ditched it for Openfi which allows me to run a small linux type os on the omnifi. Also I modified the DMP1 by taking the 20gb drive out and putting in a 160gb drive full of music. here is the vid

Well with the stock moon roof closed I used card board that is about 4" longer then the moon roof. I slid it underneath the headliner until I had clearance on the other side then I slide it underneath the headliner on the other side. There is about 2" of overlap on all side of the headliner that keep it in place. Then I duck taped all the pieces together and then duck taped it to the seal around the moon roof this portion is about three layers thick or I would guestimate 1/2". Then I used three more layers of cardboard to fit tight in the opening to make it flush and spray glued the three pieces together and finally used duck tape around the whole edge of the three I glued together. Next I laid out my carpet and spray glued the carpet and the panel and let them tack up then bonded them together. Then applied spray glue to the peice already in the vehicle and to the back side of the panel i made and let them tack up. Then I pressed the two together and used more duck tape to seal up the bottom lip of the rubber boot around the moon roof. The carpet was then just tucked in around the edges the best I could.

Also sealing off the Sunroof area but doing it in a way that it can be removed and back to factory if needed. I dont really use it either. Found some cardboard that I can slide in there and its 3 layers thick about 1/2" and goes about 2" underneath the headliner all around then duck taped the edge's to the seal I will build it up some more and carpet it so it looks nice.

So this past weekend I decided to cut another top piece to double it up and used five 1" Dowel Rods to brace the box. I used a router with a 3/4 round over bit all around the top of the box. Still have to paint the top yet since I did not have time that day for it to dry and all. I also made a cover for it because to me it looks cleaner that way. I just simply pull the cover off for events or when metering. The Result's were great with doubling up the top, Routeing the top edges and the bracing. It was definitely a noticeable difference.
  20. I have never seen a Hot Air Balloon up close so I went to a Balloon Fest to check some out. Here are a couple videos I made with my Droid phone, if your interested I can post more.
