Dont know if any of you have heard of Rival Sub woofers but the guy who designed these subs I think has done a good job. He has his own car audio shop Rival Mobil Electronics about 40 miles from me and I have had the opportunity to hear a few vehicles that have these Rival sub woofers in them and they are performers. Here is a few vids of the vehicles. This vid he has more power 7200rms clamped. Now for the s-10 which is a sweet build on two 12" Rivals And the Owner's name is Bill and he has a pretty loud jeep with 4 12" Rivals in a wall that has done over 156db this vid has a good view of the subs. Here is his 155.2db score was not his higest

For those that have not seen my build log which is kind of old it is located here. http://www.soundsolu...og/page__st__30 I am still using 4 old school Rockford Fosgate RFR2215 subs. Since then I decided to do a 4th order wall in my Mountaineer. Just got it in this past weekend and in time for Slamology. Here are a few pictures Design It was designed so I can pull it back out and go back to my ported box if I need to I took this 2x2 support out and used pipe and flanges instead. A lot more strength It was a tight fit but my friend and I managed to lift this box and get it in there. Loading wall and port in Used a pool noodle to seal around the edge of the wall and around the doors. I wish they had gray pool noodles but this is good enough for a temporary fix for the show. I used some 1/4" Inch steel at every seat bolt to the floor to secure the box down and it is locked in tight.

Update on my build for Slamology 4th order wall
Hotdog69 replied to Hotdog69's topic in General Audio
Old Power DVC's on 2800-3000 Watts (Rockford Fosgate T40001bd @ 2ohm) I am going to play with the port more this weekend and get it dialed in but I am over 150+ on music now. Here is a couple vids I did when I was only hooked up to the rear batteries one 100ah AGM and a Kentik 25ah cap battery.. I should be over 151 on music after I get done with the port. -

Pool noodle's are a good quick fix when you need to seal something off. they are only $1.99 a piece and two of them was enough to go around the perimeter of the wall. They can also be used to seal off trunks -
I will be there this year, got my pre-registration done and my hotel paid for. Last time I was there I was in super street no wall class for DB drag and I think a 157+ db won it. I did not have a prayer of winning but I had a lot of fun. I will compete this year too but mainly for the free meter since DB Drag is free with the event. I hope to hit a 150+ db. I was able to get 150.4db Mic on dash with driver door open but I have moved things around now and hopefully I gained a little. I remember seeing Porkchop last time and a few IAK guy from the last time I went. Good group of guys there and hope to see you again this year

Technical question for Alpine CDA-9887
Hotdog69 replied to Hotdog69's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I want to be able to hear the full range of music and vocals weather at low volume or max volume. PA speakers? AQ-PA-6.5 and did not mean to type in black was just copy and pasting while I was searching for a more suitable speaker set up as far as what I would spend to get it right, I am open to that it would just be a matter of how long it will take me to make the purchase. I will have about 400 available this month or 800 within two months. -
Technical question for Alpine CDA-9887
Hotdog69 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have a Alpine CDA-9887 with the imprint unit and I was wanting to know if somehing was possible. I do not run any speakers off the deck and I have the power IC disabled. I have two amps installed right now and hooked up with the RCA's. What I want to know is can I turn the Power IC on and use the speaker wire outputs off the Alpine deck as high level inputs for a third amp and will the Imprint work using both low level RCA's and High level Speaker wire outputs. -

Technical question for Alpine CDA-9887
Hotdog69 replied to Hotdog69's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
When I am playing full tilt my sub stage completely drowns out my mids and highs. I want to have mids and highs that I can hear when playing full tilt. I am usually fine on rock music but it is really an issue when playing rap music. -

151db is out of my sub stage. I just need something that can keep up with my sub stage. should be able to get anything from 5 1/4 up to 8" in the doors with some slight modifications. Tweeters are currently up high and it helps bring the stage up in this picture you can see where they are located. -
Technical question for Alpine CDA-9887
Hotdog69 replied to Hotdog69's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I good with that suggestion and my goal is to have speakers that can keep up with the bass in my vehicle. I am doing right around 151db right now and the mids/highs I have can not keep up. What would your recommendations be? Amps I have available to use are the Rockford Fosgate 500x and a Fosgate P5002. If I have to I can switch out the Power 800.2 from my other car with the P5002 is I need more power -

To be honest I dont know if I have the ear to set it up properly myself. They always say how your system sounds is subjective depending on the person listening and I have never sat in a true SQ car to know the difference. This is why I went with the automatic crap -

I never said which one I had but it is the Alpine ktx-100eq Imprint sound processor. I purchased it separate from the radio so I could imprint my vehicle. It sounds really good to me but I am going to add a third amp a Rockford Fosgate P5002 and pick up some Rockford Fosgate PPS4-6 Pro speakers for the front doors. I am still open to suggestion on the speakers though because I heard for better midbass you need a speaker with FS around 50-60hz. -

so I am better off without imprint and doing the time alignment myself then l can just use the crossover on the amps for lowpass filter and put a passive filter inline for the hi pass filter on each speaker? -

Thanks for your help bigjon. one other question I imprinted my system already once and it sounds really good but I had my crossovers on the amps set when I did it. Now my understanding is when you do the impring you want to run it with the crossovers off. If I want to go active on my system would I have to imprint with cross overs off then put passive crossovers on each speaker in the system. I think I heard that CDA-9887 can do two way active but not three way -

well would that split or lower my voltage my on the RCA's. I thought if I was able to use speaker out that it would not mess with the voltage out on RCA's -

Another update.. Got metered today at the USACI event today. They were offering metering on the dash too so I decided to meter at the dash instead of the kick to see how changing the tuning would do for me. Well it helped a lot I broke the 150db mark today at the dash with a 150.4 by just dropping my tuning 3hz. That is another .7db gain over last time. I have a video of me metering but my wife did not get the screen on video and someone jumped in the way . but here it is anyway if you want to watch. Next is to measure sealed up I should be at 150db sealed or a a hair away.
