    Finished setup in EK hatch

I finally designed my box and had Digital Sound in Miami, FL put it together for me. I ripped out my back seat (sorry kids) and barely got this monster box in, lol. We had to take out the side panels and both front seats to get her in there. This is by far the loudest setup I have ever had (specs below). I just need to clean up the wiring a bit in the back and do a few cosmetic adjustments, but you can get the basic idea Hope you likey. 3 Fi Audio Q15 Box is 10.2 cuft Tuning is @ 32hz DC Auido PAI-2000.1 @ .75ohm HU: Soundstream VIR-7840bt Stinger Alt coming soon Fostgate mids n highs Evolution 125.4

    Finished setup in EK hatch

There is no where to compete in Miami, other then a few local shows. I'll compete in those, but none are sanctioned. They don't even use a TL. I have one this weekend, so I'll post video and my score. It will be outlaw. They don't even do legal anymore....

    Are these port specs OK?

I am running 3 Fi Q15's. The box is 10.2cuft internal after port and sub displacement. The port is 5" x 28.5" and 26.25" long. Is that a proper amount of port area? That should put my tuning right around 32hz.

    Are these port specs OK?

I notice you didn't include brace displacement.. I hope you are bracing this enclosure. It'll need it! The internal volume is actually over 11.15 cubes after port displacement, then each sub is .19. That gives me about .4 for bracing to be right about 32hz... I hope I got it right, because the design is at the shop already, lol.

Thanks. Now I gotta build it. Going from 2 sealed to 3 ported. Can't wait!

    Getting Metered @ Show

This is footage I shot at the show I competed in this weekend. Despite running a seal box, I still decided to give the meter a shot. Please subscribe and comment on my youtube page.

    Getting Metered @ Show

I have another show coming up on Aug 7th + Hot Import Nights Miami. I should be able to get some pretty sick footage.

    Getting Metered @ Show

Thanks man. I am going to shoot video for each show. Maybe I'll get some T&A eye candy for the next one. Stay tuned for some music videos, as well.

    Getting Metered @ Show

AC mic ( I know the TL would meter lower) @ passenger side dash A pair of Fi Q15's sealed on a DC Audio PAI-2000.1@ 1ohm All stock electrical Tones were from 35hz - 42hz Not an SPL setup, but still louder then the others = ) Well except for the 4 18" DD's lol.

Yes or No? Your opinions needed

I am running a pair of Q 15's on a PAI-2000.1 @ 1ohm sealed. It's deep and its loud, specially in a civic hatch. I don't want to lose my back seats if possible, that's why I opted to go with the Q's sealed from the get go. The box before displacement is 4.9cuft on the dot. Do you think I would get more output if I closed off one of the speaker holes and added a few 4" aeroports, tuning the box to 33hz and popping in a single 15" BTL D1 to run the amp at .5ohm? I am not sure how long the ports would have to be or how many I would need (3-4), so I am not sure if after displacement it would be an ideal enclosure for a BTL. I would be losing half my cone area (-3db) but porting it (+3db) with a louder sub and slightly more power since I would be dropping to half an ohm. Thoughts? If that wouldn't be an ideal setup, then I will keep the system as is and maybe lose the back seat later on down the road. If that happens, I would probably run a pair of 15" BL's tuned to 33hz in 8-9cuft @ .5ohms on the PAI-2000.1...or a single 18" BTL. More thoughts?

    Tattoo thread

I have one on my other shoulder of the Chinese symbol for strength. its very generic and common, so I don't really show it off. It doesn't look bad, its just nothing artistic or special. I will fix that one up in a few months and probably write "Family" in Thai lettering across my heart. So yeah, the tattoo bug has bitten, lol.

Damn, there are some nice tatts in this thread. Mine = Thai Krut - A bird-man god used as a symbol for Thailand's Coat of Arms and the Royal Family. And here's the link to the vid of me getting it done. (Yes, as an internet whore, I would luv some youtube comments.)

You can contact Rusty at DC and iquire about them. They are a basic Zenon built amp that Rusty had made for the European customers. Thanks dude. I saw some at the Sac Autorama in the DC sound lab jeep and wondered how they came about. I never seen them before, not even on the site. Soooo, my amp makes me special, right?

    First setup in 2 yrs!

Yeah that's true, plus I would already have the box ready to drop a new pair of 15's in.

    First setup in 2 yrs!

If it were me I would try the "Q"'s in a ported enclosure. I think you will be surprised at the increased output. Not designed to be a spl or high output driver, but by putting it in a ported enclosure you will see another side to this great woofer. Just my .02! Yes, that is exactly what I am doing, an then I can switch them out with BL's later, but ultimately I do want to upgrade to a pair of BL15's. What do you guys think of maybe doing a single BTL 18" on 2K RMS. 8 cubes tuned to 32hz. I think the pair of BL15's would push more air on 1k rms each.

    First setup in 2 yrs!

Yezzirrr! the more I think about it, the more I have to do it. I will start the build next month. I figure with 4 Q15's, I should be able to sell them and get enough cash for a pair of BL's... Oh why oh why did I have to come back to this addiction??? I was sober for so long!

    First setup in 2 yrs!

lol, I have issues. I am already considering a 7cuft box with 4 4"x17" aeroports.... it would basically be the same box I have in there, except deeper. That would mean no back seat for the kids. The catch is that we always drive my wife's car as a family anyways....and I can always just keep the sealed box. Plus, if I go ported, I would upgrade to BL's or subs with similar specs and output. Thoughts?

    First setup in 2 yrs!

Thanks man. Once I finish tweakin everything, I will get some flex vids up. You guys think a 135amp alt is enough for a 2200w rms amp?
