fi btl 18 fully loaded on saz 3000d at 1 ohm?
Typicaljawaiian replied to RollinOn23z's topic in Fi Technical
I got a Sundown 3000 pushing a 15" AA SMD and my electrical has a hard time keeping up sometimes. I got Big 3 all in 1/0 1 run each pos/neg to amp in 1/0 DC Power 320/150 amp alternator One Kinetik HC 1200 One Kinetik Hc 2400 3 300 amp fuses And I still get voltage drop to 13.0 - 12.9 (fairly loud though) @ idle. Just touching on the "electrical" cause that plays a big part in clean power. But yeah like PHATBOi said.... Just keep it clean. -
Change of scenery eh? Was for me as well. I come here w/ my real technical s**t, got some good info/help on this site. Anyway, yeah Howzit
-
Correct, I could only push "so hard" with the electrical I had. I know there was lots more power in there waiting to be harnessed. Tomorrow I install a Kinetik hc 1200 under the hood and hc 2400 in the trunk right next to the amp. It's just too bad it's not the stetsom anymore. Well a saz 3000d is not bad at all. Anyway op, I agree, the subs will be fine
-
Just my 2 cents but I REALLY liked the sound I got out of my 7k2e. I like my bass loud all the time so I pushed the stetsom hard on a daily basis and had NO problems. It put out tons of power (clamped 3000+ watts in a Yaris w/ only upgraded alt). Was a perfect match for my 15" SMD

higher voltage = higher dbs?

BIG speed bump in getting my SMDs bumpin

A lot better, imlooking to strap another 3000d to it, waiting for a reply from sundownz though. Your setup should get very loud! -

The stetsom w/ the SMD was a killer combo. To me it sounded really good. The sub took the power very well mechanical and thermal. My box is 4.0^3 @ 31 hz w/ 28^2 port area. I need way more port area. The DC alt seems to be animal, havn't clamped it yet but I do have a meter just need a second pair of hands (the wife is not really into this shit haha). Look up typicaljawaiian808 on youtube, I have videos 144.4 @ 38 hz is my personal best out of the trunk. I'll meter again after I get another run of 1/0 and the two Kinetik 2000's -

I'll contribute a little........I have a DC 320 amp alt (150 @ idle) and was running a stetsom 7k2e to a 15" SMD sub in a Toyota Yaris. I have 300 amp fuses wherever they need to be and a STOCK battery. Big 3 in 1/0 w/ an extra 1/0 from alt. adjusting arm to batt neg. One run of 1/0 (+&-) to the Stetsom in the trunk & I was using jumper cable as speaker wire, haha. Now after getting the entire system o-scoped, the Stetsom was clamped @ a little over 3000 watts @ ~60 hz. With another run of 1/0 and two Kinetik 2000's I think I would have seen 4000+. As far as daily driving I push my equipment pretty hard. At idle I could drop all the way down to 10 volt if I wanted to w/ that amp but while driving and staying above 2000+ rpm............ voltage stayed pretty solid 14.0+ Sounds to me like you want to run 7k rms (as I had a 7k amp but only saw 3000 rms at best) so I'd say w/ a 320 amp DC alt and two XS 3100's you should be alright WHILE DRIVING. At idle, probly see voltage drop, who knows maybe not. 300 amps out to the batts should be over 3000 watts (if you get the 300+ amps) to the batts for charging. Now two d3100's as secondary batts should be able to supply power up to a 10,000 watt system iirc. All in all, I think you good, two more batts even better. Another alt your golden. Sorry for the "Novel" bro. -

One 15" AA SMD of a Stetsom 7k2e. 4^3 tuned ~31 hz w/ 29 sq in of port in a '09 Yaris Sedan. DC Power 320amp alt, big three, all 1/0 wiring, stock battery. I just metered tonightat a local shop and put up a 144.4 w/ peak at ~ 41 hz. My question is "How much would I benefit from more port area? I plan on going from 29 in to 72.5 in thanks
-
What tools and methods do I need to calculate my imp rise. 1 15" AA SMD, Sundown saz 3000d. 4^3 @ 31hz, 30^2 port area (I know way to small, just testing an aeroport). Sub wired to .75 ohm Just got a clamp meter today and messing around I did 18.4 amps & 79.8 volts @ 37hz. I want to know what the impedance is doing but not exactly sure how to check for that Thanks
-
Read it a few times and I think I got it, thanks again!
-
That equation fried my brain instantly but I'm gonna take another look and work w/ it. Going from .75 ohm to 4+ ohm, f**kin sucks! Imma have to work on that Thanks Anyone else know of another way lmk

What it do mang hehehehehe Yeah Hawaii is a pretty cool place to live

I'm driving along and hammering down on the system and my car is jerking to the beat (cmon, minds out of the gutter now). It's like I'm doing the so called "gas brake dip". It's pretty fucked up and I'm not enjoying it at all. Anyway, I drive a 09 yaris sedan and I recently put a 320 amp DC Power alt in. I didn't have this problem w/ the stock alt, but then again, I wasn't nearly as loud. What I'm wondering is what is going on and what could I possibly break by doing this on a regular basis? Should I downgrade my amp? 15" SMD on a Stetsom 7k2e Thanks
-
Might switch back from AA to Fi now. Just gotta get them damn stickers off my car haha I can dig it mang!
-
Got rid of the stetsom 7k2e. Traded it for a saz3000d and some other goodies. I think my problem should be solved now or.................not! I now want to strap another 3000d to the SMD. Fukin SPL, I hate you, but I love you........buwahahahahaha Well see what that does to the mighty Yaris haha j/k. I'll be sure to report if I have this issue w/ two saz3000's The SMD is so worth it, you will not be dissapointed my man.
-
Edited my post, I type slow, my bad
-
Been in contact w/ them already about another issue, seems like their busy or something. Takes a while to get a response. Nothing wrong w/ the alt at all, just to much for my applications I think. That's why I'm thinking about scratching the SPL and doing SQ w/ headrest monitors (I got a pioneer 2 din in the dash already), fiberglass door panels, the works I know Rob was dealing w/ some personal things so........
-
Duran, thanks man and thanks to Errrbody else. So........basically the solution is get a bigger ride hahaha!
-
You meter it yet?
-
1. No belt noise 2. Lights dim a little (expected w/ only a stock battery) 3. When I'm full tilt on a real punchy song the rpm gauge fluctuates. 4. It's a pretty abrupt jerk like pumping on the brake while driving 5. Not sure about the pulley, pretty sure it does though Yeah so I'm thinking it's not the best thing to do to your car. If I got more batteries would that help. It's not really a deciding factor, I'm getting batts anyway. I'm thinking of downgrading power and doing a sound quality setup. I have a three year old and just had another baby a month ago so I need the space. I just want to meter at one more comp before I take everything out. I'm at 144.4 so far but I KNOW I can squeeze a xxx.xx out of it. Haha I'll post that score up when I get it. But yeah, I don't want to break my car in the mean time
-
Man, thanks for the replys! I'm on my phone sitting at the DMV right now (hopefully I'll get outta here sometime this year lol). When I get home and I'm on the desktop I'll input more info and try to get to the bottom of this Thanks again

fans in my amp enclosure help
Typicaljawaiian replied to aimone's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Fuck yeah man! I woulda done the same thing. Oh yeah, my stetsom uses the push pull method and that's inside the amp. I figure the same configuration would be good outside the amp also -
Small port, decent TL score (AA SMD)
Typicaljawaiian replied to Typicaljawaiian's topic in General Audio
I didn't get to build ^^^ box and it bit me on the butt. Only did a 144.2 at the comp. Got beat by a guy w/ a Orion D2400 and HCCA 15". He was in a 90's explorer and won class C w/ a 145.3 I clamped the Stetsom at ~ 3000 watts the other night and i'm wondering, would two Kinetik 2000's get me a little more, say..........4000+? That would be DC Power 320 amp alt and two Kinetik 2000's?
