2 FI 15 BTL can't decide which amp to buy + ported box dimensions
cheese20323 replied to thfuller's topic in Fi Technical
so you are going to have a shop install everything for ya? i just looked up your vehicle and looks rather easy to do the big 3.....as for the cost if you want to do it right and not have to go back and spend more money because your previous equipment was efficient enought...its gonna be WELL over four digits just for electrical Agreed. Never have shop install anything my dad had a T.V installed in our truck and he left and went to go eat i was like . Next day checked the wiring everything that you could see was organized but other than that everything was a mess. It isn't hard to install and you will know what you like and do not. If a shop does it your going to spend a lot of money on them. Save your self a couple of bills $. -
There alot of reasons. They do not have the same t/s parameters. One might be louder than the other and it will sound retarded. One will have more Xmax and it will just be mess.

Last time I recall it was about 110 for the 10 and 120 for the 12 but only had d4

I have owned a type R and heard an L7. Both were in box to specs. The type r had good SQ and was still able to get loud. The L7 got louder but just did not sound as good. In my OP if you want output L7 is your choice. If you want to get good SQ and get decently loud go towards the type R.

see something like that and have the port pretty close to the woofer. Would that be a pretty good idea

Ok so I am going to build my 3rd sub box and i want to know how to cut the bracings and that stuff. And how to port/tune you box. I am going to put it in a car and i want the sub facing upward and the port too. I do not want an L ported i want like square type one. My sub is a 12 Fi SSD. I want it to use half of the trunk but not be so tall just like an inch after the sub fits. But mainly i just want to learn how to do square ports. Any help plz.
-
O.K after playing with this for a while i think i got it but one question can you add a curve to a square port. Because the port is too long by the way i want it but it does fit if i add a curve
-
oh i see i thought you add them. How about if i want 2 one on each side. but the number that comes out is 2 long for my box
-
I was thinking 6x6x6x6 so it can equal 24 right
-
O.k i'm still a little confused what do i do i put in the square vent box Height/ Width. And do i have to figure out the formulas? I'm still a confused.

you can strap 2 SAZ 1000d -
Maybe you should try some better wire. Checking your grounds, fuses. See if your subs are wired right. What would I be checking on the grounds and fuses? Your amps fuses and make sure it has a nice ground. I always like checking the little things because they lead to big things. So i check everything pretty often

I just built 2 boxes 2 weeks ago. I'm only 14 and I had my dad cut the pieces and everything came out pretty good. Looked sort of odd but after 45 minutes of sanding it came out perfect. Then i built my ported enclosure and boy that one was hard but it got easier once I figured it out how to actually assemble it good . And in about a week i will be building another one. Once you do it a lot of times you will get better. Or you might just get it right the first time. -
Hey i just got 2 new RE REX12 for my little home audio setup. These things sound very good for the 120 i spent on both. And there only off of like 350 wrms. Really like how they look too. Good job US amps/ Re Audio. And they came with some cool stickers.

SAZ can handle 18v electrical systems. But other than that there not very different. There really wont be an audible difference either choice is fine
-
Yeah im pretty sure too. Those subs are a litle similar to the SSA XCON

]Well if the old HU you had was the same brand of the new one it should fit. But if it doesn't you will have to do every thing all over with the harness that came with the HU. -
welcome . You've got some nice equipment good job.
