Both terminals are in parallel, either way is the same. "hook up both coils to only one side or do I hook each individual coil up."

New AX 600DE will be out in 60 days, best get that one

I wish I had known that before making my purchase (mandatory alternator upgrade required). My old Boss amp never had a problem. Seriously though, the mandatory alternator upgrade, should be noted somewhere on either the website or owners manual, for the do-it-yourselfer. I still love the amp, but I would have picked up an alternator before hurting my precious. I am glad you like the amp. Sorry you were not better informed. For any amp producing over 1400 or so watts you would need more current than a standard alternator or you will never get the power out of the amp. It takes power to make power.

Yes, the 2006 MD# opened the door for the new 2007 MD which also has 38% better damping Factor as well other improvments.
-
ohhh.. so bridged would probably be about 160x2? pm me on the price About 70 x 4 is about right for the MD41 bridged around 130 watts peak. The peak power is where the amp shines.

The AX 3000DE is being replaced with the AX3200DE which has 240 volt output vs the old ones 70 volt out. Moreover it has 38% better damping Factor vs AX3000. The AX 3200 esily puts out over 4000 watts RMS into a 1 ohm load

I last spoke with Jan about 1 year ago, I heard he spends all his time in Whistler mountain now. I will see if can find his last e-mail address.

Glad that helped big ken. Eldorado you will be happy to know that 2007 amps will no longer need a ground as reference on RCA.

I was just thinking that, not sure why jr, if you read this reply, is it because of a standard heatsink or OEM board? anyway the internals looks monsterous!! would love to try it heads up against my orion <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's is due to the amplifier needing surface area to cool efficiently and for faster assembly. Unlike the XT and AX which have bulk of aluminum on each side for transistor mounting the MD uses top surface area for transistor mounting.

Caps keep a charge. Make sure head unit has a grounded RCA output. If using audio control processor make sure to use ground setting and not balanced or 200 ohm which may make amp pop and pick up noise. Also, use one ground point for whole system.

The Ax2000HC uses parts that are not shared with other amplifiers, thus costs a bit more BUT UNIT CAN RUN AT ALMOST A DEAD SHORT AND HAS BETTER SOUND QUALITY. The AX3000DE puts out around 1000 more watts with the same current draw of a AX2000HC.
-
The AX3000DE need lots current to produce lots of output. A stock alternator will not cut it. The #1 reason the amplifier goes down is due to them not getting enough current. Any amplifier that can produce over 1000 rms watts needs an upgraded alternator. Audio Designs replaced a Memphis Mojo amp with an AX3000de and got 1 dB more.

the md3 is shipping

different girl, more make up a better top <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, a link to here will be added for sure.

Original non- strappable MD2 will be re-run until end of the year. At which time the MD3/AX3000DE strapping circuit will be used in design. End of Aug The 25th anniversary, limited edition MD2 and MD3 will be here.

I have one. They will put out over 3500 watts RMS loaded at .9 ohms at 14.4 volts drawing bursts of 290 amps. Tuan, at Team Toxic and Jerry Davis, at NW audio strapped two together in parallel at a quarter ohm. Remember use the outer two terminals in the speaker block. If you use side by side, like with other AX DE amps, you would be getting half the power output. Stock charging systems are not adequate.

The AX has a 90 day over the counter warrantee, 1 year parts and labor, if installed by an authorized dealer; it is extended to 2 years. The reason AX does not have a 1 year over the counter exchange is cause it is hand crafted here in our US factory and tested many times before they ship. If they were to have a problem, it would happen right away. XT and Merlin are mostly made in Korea and not tested a critically as the AX line.

US AMPS is still working on new web site. A link to non flash based site, on front page, will be added in the next few weeks. Moreover, a link will be added to accesses the original US AMPS web site.

They are strappable. They have four cores in power supply like AX 3000 DE but they are smaller. CEA rated 4 ohm / 500 watts. 1 ohm / 2000 watts, however it will put out a few hundred watts more. It has a 120 volt swing and can be burped way below 1 ohm. First production to be done in the US, mid July. At that point we will have a white sheet for it.
