ok so the sound deadener is in upto the front seats, the re audio 8s are in the doors and clear the door panels and the window. the seats are lifted 3.75 inches, the biggest task is fiding room for two sundown and a third before the build is complete. heres what i came up with. the silvy crew cab back seats have a hook on the back of the seat that hooks the back cab wall so access is zero behind there. thats is untill i raised the seats. by raising the seats it allowed me clear the hooks when the seat bottom is up. i didnt want to screw through the back of my cb or flue anything to it either so i took the seats apart and inside there is two steel bars the brace the seat back. i cut 3/4 mdf to fit inside and drilled and tapped the mdf to the steel supports. i streched the fabric over the mdf and had a soild mount for the amps. i had to do both sides. check it out.had to eliminate the middle seatbelt

I took the re audio 8s i bought a few months back and instead of selling them or chunking them i figured they would be good mid-bass speakers so i made some "adjustments" to the door and door panel to make them fit and still look stealth. Some tin snips and 3/4 mdf rings and they fit like a glove.

I have had 3 crew cab silverados I will be going 1 12" BL ported, firing up and throwing a sundown 1200d to it My past system was 2 12s in a sealed box firing up but probably only getting .7cu ft per sub. with a RF Power 800a2 running it and it wasnt too bad, but this 1 12" BL ported should be way better How did you raise your seat so high? Got pics? Im curious cause the only thing I know how to do is put about 1" of washers on the bolts lol 12x1.75 mm nut couplers and 12x1.75 all thread. i dont have the seats mounted down yet still working on final box design. that will determine exactly how high the seat is going to rest. www.fastenermart.com if your going that route. the good thing about this set up is its all adjustable

Hey guys i have a 2009 silverado crew cab. i asked a few weeks ago how to get more bass out of my truck a few of you guys suggested raising my seats to accomadate larger subs and enclosure. that being said i raised my seats 4 inches. i now 3.8 cubes before any displacments. my questions are im looking for the best spl but i dont think ill have enough space for two 12 btls if i port the box. the box is 55 inches long and a port is gonna take too much space. the subs will be firing down into fatmat so i dont think im gonna hear much "music" out of them. any suggestions? thanks

overall dims are 55 long 16 wide and 11 high in the front and 9 in the back. all are outside dims. thanks

New thought. i have 9 inches depth and 16 width. with 3.8 cubes before port. how would a single 15 work in that space? just an idea.

OK so to get enough room under the seats to have bl 12s firing down. i had to raise my seats about 7.5 inches. completely un-reasonable!!! So what i did is cut the 3 inch legs off the box and made the recess for the "tunnel/ hump" in the middle of the floor and made the box to fire up. my question is how far is the sub going to jump when the bass hits. is the x-max the mechanical limit? so if the x-max is 27mm thats approx 1 inch. if i recessed the subs about one inch and put some sort of grill over them would that suffice to protect them? i understand firing them into seat bottoms is pretty inefficient but i plan to have the seats flipped up when bumping but also have them protected if i have someones in the back?

spelled differant. but yeah i get that alot in the audio world.

I have a 2009 crew cab. im trying the same thing right now. i have eights under my seat now. i decided to raise my seats about 4 inches to fit 2 fi bl 12s. what you need is 12x1.75 metric nut coupler and some all-thread. i am building currently a 3.5 cube box and looks like it should fit good. -
What kind of truck is it?

New Setup, Starting from Zero. Tips Welcomed!

My saz-1500d from db-r came in a sundown box and bass knob and owners manual. it came just like brand new but was a refurb. -
You know, that idea had never even crossed my mind. lol thanks ill concider it Might be able to score a couple of seats at the junk yard for cheap. Would really open up your options for audio. And if its a work truck, which I think it is, the junkyard seats would be perfect. You wont have to worry about effing those up because they most likely will be a little scarred allready. Im at pickandpull quite often looking for 2 bucket seats for my truck so I can get rid of my 60/40 and put in a center console. Thanks if raising them up a few inches is not possible i have seen some decent price buckets on Ebay
