You're right, it won't support all that the amp is capable of. But as of now it is painfully loud even with the stock alt and such.

It sounds like a setting, or a couple settings, aren't right. If you're being out-SPL'd by W0's something is definately wrong. But yes, that box is too small. Higher tuning, smaller box, than what we recommend (which works), but it's still too small for venting on our 15.

Pics of my new setup in the Expo
Electrodynamic replied to afboy143's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
There's a reason for that. Do a search on this forum for the word "Mitek" and you'll have your answer. -
LOL. But yes, they are logo-less / naked.
-
Yes, it is Length x Width (a 2 1/16" square).

The tweet can be aimed on-axis but the mid needs to be mounted off-axis.

Yes we did, he's Mschmidt on this forum.

I'm working on getting some stickers that have "SI D2" on them instead of "Magnum" like our previous logo. I'll keep the web site and the forum updated.

Ah yes, fond...well not really...memories. And the thing is, some of the interior is back in the car and it all has to come out again in a week or so.

If mounting depth was your deciding factor...I know you haven't heard the 307's. Mounting depth on the 307's is 2.1". Mounting depth on the 327's is 2.3".

Try decreasing it to 8". No 18" or larger.

Hollis was questioning my heterosexuality when I told him "we've got to find New Kids On The Block, we just have to". Then when he found out that it's a dirty old towel that I use to clean up stuff he just started laughing. I think I can squeeze a 15 and two 8's in my car. I love the 12...but man the 15's are just awesome.

All you have to do is click on the "order online" link on our web pae. Here's the address just in case; http://www.stereointegrity.com/order.html

Just keep in mind that this is going in the cab of a Del Sol. The subwoofer enclosure will be fiberglassed of course directly behind the two seats. The enclosure will consume literally everything rearward of the seats. I might own a very powerful amp soon that will be able to anihilate the 15, let alone a 12, or even 8's. So now my options are totally open.

I almost voted for the V-shaped, but the straight pieces might look better, so I say straight.

Well I set off an Audi TT's car alarm with it yesterday. Right now the 8 is fighting through two layers of sound deadened steel to get sound into the cab, but it sounds great. For an 8, it goes incredibly low. The only things it doesn't pick up very well are subsonics, but down to 20 Hz is flat in my car. I'm doing my best to take care of it even though my amp could fry it in a second, but other than worrying about blowing it when I have it turned up the woofer is performing great. SQ-wise, the 8 disappears, which is great. The 8 will be KILLER for a two-way horn setup. That's literally all that would be necessary, a horn and our 8 per side.

Now, for a little explaining. We're going to have our logo at the top across the back (where your sholderblades are), which is what "SI" is in the poll above. The first option listed above is to put the text "Subwoofers" under our logo and then start the phrase below that. The second option is just for our logo and then the phrase under that. The phrase that we've decided on will take up the back of the shirt, it's not just going to be a little line on the back. So anyway, put "Subwoofers" under our logo or no? I'm voting no, but the VP votes yes, so the rest is up to you guys.

Dimensions of the crossovers for 302's
Electrodynamic replied to molurus73's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
~3.5" x 7" is the dimension of each crossover board. -
When it comes out, it will use motor technology from Adire Audio. So in a word- Yes.

So you guys like 8"s huh :)
Electrodynamic replied to HawaiianBassHead's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I hope you're talking about your 8", not JL's. Even if you are talking about your 8, do you mean a driver made by Stephen at TC Sounds? Stephen making "custom" drivers?! Noooooo. -
This might now be exactly how the final version will look, but here's a peek at what I have sitting at my house.

Efficiency on our 8" is up there, so the "large" surround doesn't hinder it one bit. Taller, narrower, surrounds actually decrease efficiency from what we have now. +/- 12mm one-way linear doesn't exactly spell a normal surround for an 8. And with a bandwidth of +/- 3 db from 40 Hz to 1,600 Hz, I'd say the 8 does a pretty good job of holding it's own despite the look of the parts used.
