2.5k is just nuts. I mean, sure it's cool...but dang. Even with 2k, if you run it hard for an extended period of time don't be surprised when you cook the coils. The 15's will take some abuse, that's for sure, but they will not hold up for long with that kind of power on them on a "daily" basis. They weren't designed to need that much power, and they simply won't take it. BUT, if you don't mind buying a new batch of speakers from time to time then by all means knock yourself out.

Hey Clarke, the /url goes before the /img buddy. That's why your picture isn't showing up. Nice sig though. Lots of love Damian. ...on that note, I'll try to get online sometime this weekend to get your opinion on the uberlaine.
-
Damnit Hollis, quit showing Clarke pictures!! I think that was the night after we taped and aluminum foiled off the back end of my Del Sol.

Mark, welcome to the forum. But I was really trying to quote Hoss's "welcome mark, my name is zultar, and on my native planet we flog first time posters with the pelts of one thousand weasels" but it wouldn't let me for some odd reason. Dang that's some funny chite.

what amp do you guys power your magnums with?

While the post question and the thread question are totally unrelated, I'll reply to the thread question (which is why I clicked on it in the first place) : I run a modified PPI A600.2 that does right at 1k watt at 4 Ohm mono. PS: I urge strongly against the JBL 1200 watt'er. -
LOL! There you go. At least one person figured out this thread. But yeah, Hollis's post was a joke. We thought it was hilarious at the time.

I'm still stunned... Is everyone missing what woofer that really is that Hoss posted?
-
Haha. Glad to see you joined the forum Jenn. Hoss's components are the chit. Period. ...wait...even I can't say "s h i t"?! Damn...and I'm a mod too. Or at least I thought I was.

Well it's 11:00 PM and I am just now settling down from fibergalssing 8's in Hoss's doors. Damn ... that's just a lot of work. However, with the make-shift x-overs we have going now (thanks Jacob! - they do really nice for what I had laying around) and less than 5 minutes of listening time on the 502's I have already come to the conclusion that I will be upgrading my car's upper-end components to the 502's. They sound incredible. The front stage is a stage, no speakers stepping out letting you know they are there. Just pure unadulterated sound. Man they sound good! I need more listening time. And I still want duplicates of Hoss's amps. Tru's amps are just fantabulous.

"Project Hammy, round two. Taurus 1, installers 0." - Hollis. Pics should be up later on this weekend / early next week. We're destroying hoss's car. Yeah...
-
I hope you found one used if you're planning on buying it next friday.
-
Well my first thought would be to remove the crossovers from the circuit and try just hooking up the mid only on the left channel. If nothing comes out, then it's in your amp. If you have sound, the crossover needs adjusted/worked on. I would also try switching crossovers. Just do a process of elimination.

Yeah, I thought Hoss's Mag was going to be moving a TON but it was just normal for most music. Performance was dead on the money of what I was expecting though. But we'll get that fixed whenever we figure out what the f*@& is going on with his high-dollar alt.

I bottomed out my 8" today. No numbers...I just thought I'd add that. -
We finally got our T-shirts in!! They will be $15 plus shipping (I'll try to package them in the smallest thing I can to keep shipping down). We everything from Medium to XL's. The T-shirts have our logo on the front left breast and our logo large on the back with the text "believe me, you need the bass" below that. Anyway, I just thought I'd post. And no pics...that got stolen too.

Haha, 3k watts...cool. I love it when people ask to be let out of the vehicle. Newbies. Hoss's Explorer gave me hearing damage - never again will I sit in a vehicle like that and not have ear protection for ANY amount of time. Yes, it was really that loud! I know he was doing 150's just riding around Charlotte in the middle of the day.

Shirt shipped. Sorry it took so long, but I got it out today (Friday). We have XL's. Shipping is included in the price of $20. Hence, $20 shipped.

Very cool, very nice install!! I like those crossovers! They must have been built by someone who knew what they were doing. -
A laptop would be very good. We're going to have survalence (sp?) out the wazzoo. Anyone who dares will be caught on tape and have a nice visit from the police.
-
Yes, there is one Medium left.
-
Depends on the shape, size, and number of ports.
-
As of now, no. 8's come first.
-
Yep, that's a claw with the "pink" surround that only showed up when it was having its picture taken. ...and that's my gimp hand after surgery.
-
My thoughts exactly. Really nice car and a really nice sub. 'can't get much better than that.
