$5xx is retail. Prices are going up from what they were, however.

New SI 12 has left for demoing
Electrodynamic replied to Electrodynamic's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Cool! 'glad to see that you have it in your hands finally. If you build either of the vented enclosures that Kent posted up (thanks for posting those Kent), build the lower tuned enclosure. ...if not for me, do it for the starving children throughout the world! -
For now, I will be releasing one parameter a day. After a week or so I will increase the specs-per-day and get the 15's out to you all soon. So for now, here's the first spec: Re: 3.5 Ohms (coils wired in series)

Unless things get really bad for me I won't be selling that sub (like the GZ Nuke that I still have).
-
He's refering to the driver pictured below. We had it in even while we had the previous 15's. Now after the 15 comes back from the demo ring it will replace this driver.

But Alex will be the first to hear any of the new drivers - I'm meeting up with him on Sunday to demo the 15. -

Yep, you're in the rotation Noah. You're right after Denim and then it goes to Jordan94z after you. The 15" is Cory, Bob, and then Kent. -
Yeah. It'd be different if they didn't have ANY H1's laying around.

Denim, I'd like to see you put the 2500 on it at first. Of course don't crank it full tilt or anything, but send it some juice. The cool about having two amps is you can hear the performance differences of the sub with different amounts of power. You could make a sealed box about 1.3 cubes and then nail down 2x4's after you've done the listening in the 1.3 box and make it close to a cube or less for those wanting to know how it performs in a shoebox-sized sealed enclosure. -

It's pretty simple really - just go to the web page. [email protected] -
1:00 is fine with me. 1:00 it is! And I'll bring the V800HC that's brand new to throw on this puppy.
-
Alex, I tried calling you but got your voice mail.
-
I'll admit it, I played with ISD too.

If Clarke wants to cover the cost for you guys, then by all means give them away Clarke!
-
Oh I'm sure we can bend the rules a little to let that work. Speaking of which, Ryan might get the 15 very soon.
-
Dangit, I forgot about your avatar.
-
The listening I did was done against a claw.
-
If any of you would like to get on the demo ring send me an email ([email protected]). I'll start taking the requests and email you back with a list of who is receiving the driver. I would like to keep the demo time to around 3 days (after you receive it only listen to it for 3 days and then ship it off to the next person). SO, I'll be looking for emails.

They were actually named after a kart chassis - a very well handling karting chassis.

The new subs might just be called the SI 12's and SI 15's. No name has been set for the new drivers as of now. The claw basket tooling went bye-bye quite some time ago. Rumor has it that pieces of the tooling are in Russia, but that's not certain. And yes, these new drivers are that much better. My sister has had her Magnum for about 3 years now and when I plopped the proto in her car the first thing she said was "wow, it's a lot louder then the old one" shortly followed up with "can you sell my Magnum and give me this?" The new drivers are exactly where I was hoping they would be. Their performance is top notch and the build quality is top notch. The Magnum (if I could it that) is finally where I want it with this new design. More low end, same controlled accurate bass, and more efficient. ...speaking of which, anyone want to get on a mailing list to demo this thing?
-
Our logo will be the only thing on the dustcap. It will either be white or silver in color. The basket has the same satin (not glossy) silver finish as the very last production run of Magnum's had. The old Magnum design is being retired. These new drivers are the Magnum's replacement and they are a lot better than the previous drivers in every aspect. When we make lower lines of subs they will be different than the previous Magnum's also - for cost and performance reasons.

Ok ok, time to leak a little info
Electrodynamic replied to Electrodynamic's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I think Ryan is talking about this bad boy that did officially get replaced with the new 15. The driver below has been our home reference for MANY years (it stayed in while we had the last 15's in stock), but it is now sitting inverted in a corner by itself waiting to be packed up. -
Eh...why not one more?
