Not a problem. -
I've got smaller one's I can mail to you. 'got 'em in silver and white.

Last time they wanted a no-questions-asked warranty to carry our line. I told them that they were dreaming and we'd look elsewhere. Our subs aren't made in China @ 1k units at a time so we can't warranty our drivers like that.

JL Audio is their savior...esp. the dubsev. RF, Eclipse, Kenwood, MTX, etc.

They are pretty bad a$$. Two of them in my hatch with the capability to throw 3k watts + on them (Hifonics Goliath) is going to be insane. I doubt I'll ever have it that loud but it's nice to know that you have the capability. -
I recently dropped off a new 12" to a local shop to let a few of the guys play around with. It will see ~400 watts at first and then I told them to slap it with 1.5k to really wang. We'll see what they have to say about it in about a week. I may need those 15s with a quickness here. Gotta check the funds first and maybe find a nice friend to sponsor me. There's a big comp happening locally with all proceeds going to benefit Katrina victims and it's going to be big, so I would just love to get soemthing setup to get the company out there.

That defines a one-of driver. Just one of the perks to holding onto an old driver and being a rep so you can have cool stuff like that done.
-
Been done before. Hollis whipped arse in the lanes two years ago. ~$1k in subs vs. ~$2k in dubsev's and the big H did a 154 and the dubsev's did a 146. ...stock class in SLAP.

No, still waiting on getting the car inspected at this point. No cat, no turn signals, and a host of other problems need to be addressed at this point. However, I'm toying around with doing a simpler setup up front (basically Koda'ish fronts ) and focusing on the sub stage and install. -

Very true (off-topic). Haha, settle down guys. Lets keep this semi-on-topic. -

~8 lbs is all that good stock internals can support. Most bolt-on turbo kits on VTEC b18's make about 225 at the wheels. Anything more than that and you need to build the entire motor. Built turbo motors are a whole other bag of marbles though. 400-550 hp isn't un-common for fully built, daily driven turbo setups. -

The motor is bad-a$$, and the fit and finish is worth it IMO if you could have bought one stock/from the factory. But either way, they don't make them anymore so it's all about the type-R look alike's now. All I care about is how my car looks, and it is beyond smooth so I'm happy. The body looks like a big piece of black glass. -

Thanks Ollie! I'm glad you like it. The production 15's are absolutely killer - I think people are crazy for ordering them b/c it's just too much bass for little 'ol me. ...however, I will be running 2 12's with 5k watts of power - but only for demo purposes. -

What else would it be ? Type R's have CF interior and different seats <{POST_SNAPBACK}> JDM Type-R's had the real CF. USDM had the CF-looking parts. They also made 4 door type-R's in Japan (very cool if you ask me). Anyway, the car is staying just like it is b/c the parts that are on it are worth more than it would be taking them off (the entire hatch is from a real type-R BTW). Oh yeah, and it's an LS, no GSR unfortunately. -
Anyone come up with a new box for their new mag?
Electrodynamic replied to ollie's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Yeah, Ollie called me today (Sunday BTW ) to ask me what size screws I used. We honestly just grab what ever we have laying around at the shop. Speaking of which, you should have heard the driver by now Ollie. How about giving the forum and little review?? -
That's right!! Chad is going to be loud ... or "loud" should I say. Chad saw the 'teggy too. Clean as hell, just have to get a system in it to demo for people.
-
Check the settings on that amp BTW. We've thrown 3k on our old Magnum's and have had no problems with burnt coils.

The drivers are here! If you pre-ordered drivers, yours will probably go out next week. Other than that, ordering is officially open...although I probably won't get around to putting it on the web page until this weekend. Being this busy can not be healthy.
-
Nope, I think a sound card was needed for the comp. Email/PM Clarkiepoo on here and/or check out the thread that should be stickied for what is needed. And thanks for hanging in there with us!
-
Well the pre-ordered drivers will go out by next week for sure. After that, I really can't say when other orders will be shipped out. However, I would like to have the pre-orders out by the end of this week and start taking regular orders by next week. I'll have a better idea by Saturday.

Everything is going up front for the front stage and the subs will be in the back. 'won't be using the rear speaker locations for anything other than maybe crossover locations. The wing is a type-R wing, which goes with the rest of how the car looks so it will be staying. I'm not much on wings either, but that wing was EXPENSIVE and it actually went on the real type-R's so it is staying. Rear brakes are being re-done on the car tomorrow - one is almost stuck closed. -

It's actually an LS with a bunch of type-R goodies like the gauge cluster, airbag blockoff tray, clock delete, front lip, rear wing, etc. -
Just wanted to let those know who have not read the thread which I replied on that the Mag's are being built this Tuesday!! Packaging is going to take longer than actually building the drivers, so the official release date has yet to be posted. I will keep this forum updated though.

Before anyone asks, not the Blazer, but a Blazer. 12" sealed in about 1.3 cubes with a Hifonics Z600 on it. If and/or when Jake ever shows up on here he can vouche for what I'm about to post on. Our bass demo CD that we have made has everything from Tocatta in B (off the Bass Mechanic CD) to Tricycle (for dynamics) to Bela Fleck, to Spies, to...well you get the picture. Tocatta (sp?) in B is just nuts. Unlike the previous generations of Mag's, there is no shelving off in the extreme low-end (the older Mag's would drop about 3 dB but keep that same level through the lower freq's). As the bass drops, the Mag just keeps the SPL the same. This single 12 off of 600 watts makes the steering columb shake around 25 Hz and lower. The Spies (self-titled I believe - the black covered CD) is percussive and transient beyond what a 12 should be with this low of wattage. I was riding around at around 10 at night with the system cranked...which is very unlike me. The bass felt and sounded sooo good that I just didn't care. I even got back in the car a little later than that and cranked it for all it was worth to show Jake how it performed. Basically, I love these new drivers. They have the same SQ as the older versions but with more low-end capability and also the ability to get louder than the previous versions. Basically the best of both worlds IMO. Just ask anyone who has heard the previous gen's vs. the new proto.

I had to wait a bit before posting this, but the drivers are on a truck headed this way! I'll post an ETA in a few days.
