1.25 to 1.5 sealed and if you go to 2 cubes I would tune lower. Basically look at what we have on our web page and go from there. Recommended enclosures are listed on both the 12" and 15" web page. The 12's will obtain a Qtc of a .707 in 0.7 cubic feet, but good luck fitting it in something that tiny.

Ok, the bickering needs to stop. Like Damian said, he wouldn't be posting in the SI section about ported or sealed if he didn't a- purchase a driver, b- already own a driver, or c- was thinking about getting a driver from us. I'm pretty quick to address posts that don't belong in my section of the forum, so don't worry about people posting about RF/eD/MTX/whatever drivers in here b/c they will be shortly re-routed and/or closed/deleted. Basically, keep it on topic. Don't stray like this thread did on the first page.

Install in the teggy so far

Yeah, they sound alright. I tested both of them in free air (with my ear close to the cone also for bass, etc.) and they're fine. I've also got another pair without tweeters. I suppose the previous owner used them for midbass. They're in the rear speaker locations of the car right now. Throw in another $5 and I'll include those also. Or hell, just pay the extra for shipping them and they're yours. Mounting depth is a hair under 2.75" -
If you have the room, port it. If you want trunk space, seal it (depending on if you have a 12 or a 15).

Anyone wanna buy the Kappa 6.5's I yanked out of the doors? $25 for the pair. -

Got the Koda's installed at just the turn of 11:00 PM. Soldering the Omni onto the tweeters terminals is touchy! I also had to make adapter rings for the Koda 6.5's b/c apparently the Koda's will not fit into any stock 6.5" location (on Honda's/Acura's). -
Sealed. WinISD just gives you an idea if you put the driver in that box in a very big anechoic chamber. It has nothing to do with in-car response. Sealed sealed sealed.

The pics pretty much speak for themselves.

Nice review. Now throw that 1000+ watts on it.

I work for DAS Audio here in NC who is a direct dealer. The is only Omni ST, Omni 2, and Omni 3 in the stereo versions. The difference is 16 awg, 14 awg, and 12 awg. We have the most common in stock, the 16 awg. The new pricing is $2 a foot also.

I know that some of you either don't care, or don't know, about the importance of good RCA's and speaker wire but I got my new Tara Labs Spectrum 3 interconnects in and wanted to show them off. BTW: I am running all Tara Labs in my vehicle - Spectrum 3 RCA's and Omni speaker wire. This stuff makes normal speaker wire sound like total a$$. And trust me, there is a difference.

Never heard a SI Mag D2...help me imagine it
Electrodynamic replied to Deathwish238's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Yep, it's an older driver (I know it without even looking at it). The new Mag's have our SI logo on the dust cap and, well, look like the new Mag's. -

Nope, 0 gauge won't fit through it. I had to drill another hole below that. -
It would cost more than the cost of a new 15. It would have to be torn apart and rebuilt using only the old basket (yes, a re-cone would happen). It would take more time than it is worth.

Nice car Chevy. And I just found out that even though the teg has adapter plates for the Kappa 6.5's that are installed - the Koda's won't fit. So instead of making adapter plates I went ahead and wired the Kappa's in with the TL Omni wire. Haha. I really don't feel like making more adapter plates this week (had to do the same thing in the Del Sol) because there is so much more to do in order to get subs in there. Needless to say the Kappa's have the best wire any Kappa has ever had on it. This, of course, is only temporary. -
You would need to have the entire run re-ran. Any crap wire in the wire path will completely ruin it. If people have home systems it would be good to test in your home on one channel if you can't do it in your car. And I'm only talking about sending out speaker wire. My RCA's are too expensive to send out. Sorry. ...unless someone wants to give me a credit card number to hold and then I'll send them out.

Get a new one. Only recones can be done on claw Magnum's. The only thing you'll get is new soft parts. Ryan's driver (claw with new motor) is a one-of. That is the only one that will ever be built that way.
-
I think 20' is plenty for one side of any system. I'll send that out instead of the 10' piece if enough people are interested. So far only one person has shown moderate interest.
-
I hate having to re-type this but I'll send out a demo piece to someone / some people and listen for yourselves. Bashing wire you've never heard on the internet isn't going to get results posted. Paying for shipping one-way on a small bit of wire is worth it IMO. As for an explanation to why it works the way it does, TL's web page is the best I can come up with. Quite frankly, I don't care how they do it. I just like the results.

lol.. setup someone just posted on another board

Wow...riced domestic is right but it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of the entire effect the car has on eyes laid on it. Ghettofied is another adjective that could be used. Ghettofiedrice? -
I think the Colossus II sells for ~$2,400 MSRP.
-
Yeah, it's stupid-big.
-
I still can't over the fact that the Olympus is larger than the Colossus! Reading the measurements on the net just isn't enough.
