LOL!!! That's awesome! We'd probably still get in trouble - 'wouldn't want to tarnish any other company's pristine image with our filty subwoofer naming now would we?
-
Yeah I know I said 10's are for wussies but a lot of people have been asking for them and I understand how some literally cannot have anything larger than a 10" due to vehicle limits. Right now it's 10's and 12's on the drawing board.

2.5" coil and price MIGHT be around $180 for a 12

Yeah, I wasn't happy with its build from the get-go but when it's motor fell off that pretty much sealed the deal. The prototype from our current build house uses a much smaller motor and smaller coil than what's on the Mag but it still performed very well. "It was topical, it was erotic, I give it a 9.5! I still got wood!" (can anyone name the movie where that quote comes from?) I seriously need to charge the batteries in our camera - I should have taken a video of the proto moving. We had it going a solid inch to an inch and a half. It was neat seeing the SI logo move that far knowing it was a mid-line speaker.

Haha, the driver that fell apart wasn't from our current build house. The driver that lost its motor was from a build house that we were toying around with using parts from. Jake literally picked up the driver and said "whoops!" when the basket/assembly came up and the motor stayed in the box. It was quite funny. The prototype from our current build house (picture 3 BTW) held up without fault. It sounds like a Mag but without the output that a Mag is capable of (expected). It is everything we could have asked for and we are going ahead with the idea.

Wow, that looks great! Keep up the good work and keep us posted. -
I believe so. But you wanna talk about expensive! Bulk RCA cable is going to be big bucks.
-
Yep, it arrived but has yet to be listened to (again) . Good to know it arrived. (I was begining to wonder if the wire arrived).
-
Yep yep yep!
-
I'd like to know where the wire is also.
-
Ah, I thought those were your subs. I'll get you a shipping quote then (that's the reason I haven't gotten back to you - I thought 3 of the 4 I sent were yours). I'm pretty sure I still have your email address and shipping info.

If you are getting the drivers from Max then you should get them shortly. They left here on Wednesday.
-
You danged SPL guys.
-
You won't get too many votes for the Dayton on this forum. The Dayton's are nice sounding drivers though. I have a second-gen Mag 15 that I'll put a new Mag recone in for you. You know my number.
-
LOL. ^ Commit it.
-
The recommended box of 1.5 cubes sealed will be just fine for your application.
-
Haha, true. I guess just the SI die-hards.
-
What he said. Not a new Mag but an older Magnum, but not the first generation.

Happy Birthday, Wedge

Happy Birthday!! ...you cannuck. You guys are too quiet up there, damned Canadians. Right above us, quiet, and well spoken. That spells trouble. -
The wire must be ran all the way. You can't have normal wire ahead or behind this wire. It will only be as good as the weakest link. Remember Ryan hearing no difference when he spliced the TL wire in with HU wire? There won't be a difference unless it is ran from the amps terminals to the speaker itself (passive x over is fine if you have enough wire).

Yep, discounts for bulk. (ie, 500 feet)
-
The Omni that I sent out is $2 a foot.

I noticed the biggest difference from the midbass area on up. I re-wired our Arua 15 and it sounded about the same also. Anyway, keep testing. Post more results. [super troopers voice] do eeeeeet [/super troopers voice]

Yep, Jake was totally blind. I even had Omni wire ran to both speakers so if he was looking hard he could see that both speakers were "wired" up when only one of them was actually wired with the Omni. The other wire I had ran was Monster Cable. Jake couldn't believe it when I started harping on it but my boss kept harping on me about my "$hitty wire" when I was using Tributaries 12 gauge in my Del Sol. I told him I'd give the Omni and shot and I bought 500' after I demo'd it. I ran about 160' in the Del Sol, re-wired the Esprit line arrays with it, my dad re-wired his HT room, I re-wired my HT room, etc. Having a receiver with the cabability to switch between wire instantly was an incredible experience. I always knew wire made a difference...but not that much of a difference! Anyway, as the other topic states, it's time for people to put up or shut up. Bad mouth it only if you don't hear a difference. If you don't hear a difference...well I just won't go there.

Compared to our previous 15's, that is soft.
