400 watts to use on ssa goodness

More cone area = more air moved Excursion goes down + efficiency goes up = SPL goes up If you have the money for 2 drivers and want to use the space for 2, the answer is clear

    Thinking about a Dcon...

That's a great review, exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'm only going to be using 400-600 watts on the sub...my first car had the mirror fall off enough times I'm in for the quality but I like to turn it up

    Thinking about a Dcon...

Thinking about doing a top-firing sub and lining the port up with an empty 6x9" hole. Haven't used a ported box in this car...haven't used a ported car box for years...so I guess we'll see how that goes

What do do with 3 SA 8's Soapbox Honda Fit

For a 30Hz "tune," wouldn't the T-Line need to be like 10 feet long? I only have a passing knowledge of them and I don't know what your measurements are. Just curious. Man...so many boxes you've got going on I like it. Oh one more thing...definitely use the Zed! If you already have it...pop it in

    J-Roadtatts Honda Accord Build

Interesting that you're firing it forward...are you going to roll with the seat down or the ski pass open? I was also wondering about the notches on the bottom...it looked like someone got rowdy with the jigsaw Nice ride! Mine's 97.6% identical

    mids/highs 2ohm vs 4ohm

Once sensitivity is understood and taken into the equation, it's 8 Ohm drivers all the way Subs...2, 4, 8...doesn't matter too much, IMO.

    8" in the doors.

can you elaborate? I think he means midbass and tweeter ONLY ain't gonna cut it? Exactly. Most midbasses play up to 300Hz or so, most tweeters aren't so effective below 1.6kHz. I am a fan of underlapping but that is too much. The options for 8s in the doors are pretty much: Midbass Midrange Tweeter or Midbass Midrange run full range For some the 3-4" midrange is enough...others need tweeters. I'll be doing 7s in the doors with 3s on the dash, pretty much on-axis, full range. Midbasses 63-300, midranges high passed at ~350Hz. Hopefully that's enough top end for me...other have reported good results
  8. Thank you sir! Will be purchasing an HVT754 tomorrow...finally

    Thinking about a Dcon...

All will be good once in the car, right? My car's cabin gain seems to be centered right around 45Hz so I'm not too worried about a dip there. 50Hz is EQ'd wayyyy down on my headunit.

    Thinking about a Dcon...

Fitting a ~1.5 cu ft box is right around the sweet spot for what I want to do, so I can "display" the amps and still be able to reach the spare tire. At 6" mounting depth, the Dcon should be just right. I don't really feel like trying to squeeze a triple-stacked magnet in there, you know? I'm wondering...why does WinISD give me a "flat" curve at .5 cu ft...only? Is it the program being weirded out by the low Qtc of the sub? Sorry for the large pic. Scaling down WinISD plots is difficult due to the lines... One more thing...any info on how much longer the sale will last? I should be getting another amp today, so this purchase will have to hold out for a while longer. That, and it's February in Wisconsin No heated workspace = no working on the car...
  11. This thread needs moar PA! HVT7100 P2100 I'm desperately looking for an HVT754 or 2 more 7100s, plus a P1502 or P1002 (maybe) for sub duty. I'll probably be selling the P2100 if I can get a matching amp to the HVT I already have They are IMPOSSIBLE to find The succubus and temptress that is the HVT series has got me
