15" xcon in a temporary infinite baffle setup.
millertime replied to gadgeteer123's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
here is alittle help to get you going... so you don't have a bunch of money to get a box built..... anymore there is alot of older guys who love to build stuff out of wood and have a shop at home full of wood working tools...So.... first i would ask someone nicely to send you some plains for a box for your sub ... then i bet if you posted a ad on craigs list in your town you could find some nice old guy who has all the tools in your town who would build you a box to your plains...you buy a sheet of mdf and some wood glue.. some screws.. and pay him... mite be surprized at how cheap some old guy who use to make cabintes for a living mite do it for you, and if you are nice he mite let you help, and teach you to while doing it... i bet there is alot of old guys out there who are bored and just go out to there shop to get away from the wife and drink a couple beers..... just a idea.... but worth a try.......... -
i have a 15" Xcon and fill the same way....you will not be disappointed if you buy one... i have a saz 1500d to

Amp cut off, low voltage why?
millertime replied to raolito1980's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i had the same kind of problem.. i took a DMM and tested volts at the amp .. tested pos. wire and the ground.. had 5.3 volts... then tested from power at the amp to were it was grounded.. same 5.3 volts... then tested to another ground and had 12.7... took the ground off and re-cleaned were it hooked and it fixed it.... i had had this ground hooked here for 2 years before with no problems.. -

well i got my SAZ 1500d in the mail a few days ago... and now i have my 1/0 gauge Tsunami amp kit to replace the 4 gauge from my old sub amp... so now i am getting ready to install it all, i was just wondering if anyone had any good sugestions on where to set the subsonic and the LPF knobs ? and i a guessing to leave the phase off.. this amp is to run my 15" Xcon.. it is in a 4 cubic feet box ported to 32 hz.... i figured there would be someone here who could get me close..

well i have had my Xcon for awhile now and just love it ( it sounds really good right now )... i have it hooked to my Hifoincs BXi 1208d... 1200 X 1 @ i ohm... i had this amp when i bought the Xcon, it is a couple years old.. so anyway what i am wanting to know is.... will i notice any changes in sound or output if i buy like a SAZ 1500d or another quality amp that does 1500 watts ? ( is it worth the money ) it is ia a 4 cube box ported to 32hz.... i read the post on the guy who built a sealed box for his Xcon... i mite build a sealed box and see how i like it... i listen to alot of rock... nickleback... metallica type music... once in awhile some rap just to hears some real hard hitting bass.. or maybe i mean low notes...

not sure... i mite try it in my boys car.. right now he has my old rockford t 500 1bd hooked to 2 12" p3's... i will end up selling one of them... just not sure which yet.. the Hifonics really isn't worth much as you can pick them up new for pretty cheap .... oh... qustion on the sundown....i went and looked at the online mannual for the SAZ 1500d.. it shows that like the left and right + speaker wires both go to the + on the sub... then i went thru about 5 pages on the sundown site here and some guy had said you only use one side... doesn't matter which side.. on both mono amps i have now it is like you bridge them.. so.... what is the right way on the saz 1500d to hook it up for 1500 X 1 @ 1ohm.... thanks

I went and bought a SAZ 1500d from dB-r... he had a good deal on a re furb... 260.00 shipped.. hard to beat that

I get my X-mas bonus from work tomorrow, so i was plaining on buying a new amp with it... right now with the hifonics amp and my candance TXA 3004 playing at as lound as it all sounds good.. 3/4 volume.. ( which is LOUD ) .. i took my DMM and went out to the battery and checked voltage.. with out the stereo and the lights on 14.4 volts.... crank the stereo with lights on it goes to 13.8 volts and holds there thru a whole song that really bumps.... i have the big 3 done in 0 gauge and a yellow top optima.. and my 2006 FX4 supercrew was special ordered and came with a 130 amp alt. ... i just hit 30,000 miles.. and i have had it since late 06.... thanks for all the replys

Amusingly you deleted your recommendations after reading my post.... ya i read almost all of it.....missed your post....... then after re-reading it decided you are more then likely right .... mite change the sound alittle, but not get super lounder... so no sense getting a pissing match going when you are right !

millertime replied to Notorious97200's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
That box came out nice... what did you use to cover the part that goes in to the port ? looks nice.. i was wanting to do something like that but that looks like carbon fiber.. my truck has a bunch of stuff in it that has the carbon fiber look.. -
i found it is cheaper to buy the best one the first time.... or in a few months you want the Xcon anyway... i love my Xcon
