Thanks. And yes I am. Won't be till the wife gets home this evening. Just got home myself and the Shark was waiting for me.

And the best part, now I can tune my mids/highs amps without having to take out the sub/box and flip down the backseat down to get to them! Whoot!

Yeah, it's a mess, but it's playing. Decided to just go with the 2 matching amps and the crossover for now. Was going to do 1 big 2 channel per mid and the little 2 channel for the tweets, but the big ones don't match (different models, similar output) and my OCD just wouldn't let it fly. Mids are band passed. HPF on the head unit set to 120Hz, crossover set to 6.5KHz LP for the mids and HP for the tweets. Sounds good the little bit I played it. Does have some turn on noise though.

LOL! Will do. It will be here tomorrow.

Should be fine with the pair of batts in the back, big 3 in 1/0, and a run or two of 1/0 to the rear. I was running 4 batts in the back on a stock 100 amp alt without any issues. Congrats on your first car. Chevy FTW! Going to be a great first setup!

Thinking this box must be fairly efficient. Have it on 100 rms now and it is moving pretty damn good. Has the back hatch flexing and moves my hat on my head in the drivers seat with the door open.

I do plan on getting a better amp eventually, just spent to much money on the sub and had to get what I could for now. But it kills me when everyone talks shit about "budget" amps, lol. If I'm going into it knowing that the amp isn't going to do 2K, but will still do 1.2-1.5 clean, what does it matter if it does rated? Still a damn good deal for $99 shipped. I could understand if I was dumb enough to think it would actually do 2K clean, but I know how to set my gains.

Yes, I'm dying, lol!

Got it working on the Alphasonik. 100 rms. Sounds great on the lows. Sub has a ticking noise (almost like something tapping the bottom of the cone) on the high notes. Think the gain was up to high on the amp distorting it.

2002 Mazda MPV minivan. Had to give up my 2003 Protégé ES last year as the family was getting to big to fit in it, lol. 3 kids + small car isn't good. Shark 2500 shipped out today. Also ordered a 50ft roll of Sky High 14 Gauge speaker wire to redo my runs for my mids and highs and 10ft of blue & 10ft of black Install Bay 10 Gauge to use for speaker wire on the sub to amp connection. Bought the RCA's to hookup the Alphasonic crossover and amps for my front stage, as well as 5ft of Bullz 1/0 for the amp power and ground, from Back yard Customs. Should have everything playing by this weekend.

Nice build. My dad still helps me and I'm 31 years old. Might have a little something to do with the fact he has all the tools I need to build my boxes in his shop, lol. About the hooking the amp leads up backwards, I've done it myself. Also reamed of lugs and other stuff. So don't feel alone in that area. Love the build. Wanted an Xcon for a long time, but feel head over heels for the new Sundown Zv4's and X12's. Couldn't afford a Zv4, so I snagged an X12 from EMF's B-stock section. Tuned in.

Thanks. If you watch the last vid, I removed the little 4" sub, or whatever it is, from my PC subwoofer and hooked the X12 up to the speaker wires for it. After I disconnected the X12 and threw the regular 4" sub back in, I was disappointed cause the X12 sounded so much better.

Alphasonik A-501 Question
PHATBOi posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Anyone know if this is really a mono amp as some say? Specs say it's a 2 channel 50 x 2 @ 4 ohms, 80 x 1 @ 4 ohms, and 100 into 8 ohms. I've read that the amp was mislabeled at the factory and is in fact a mono amp. Figured this would be the best place to ask with all the old school fanatics on this forum. Thanks. -
My collection. Want to put the 2 big 2 channels on the mids, one for each bridged at 8 ohms, then the small 2 channel on my tweets, all ran thru the crossover with tweets 5-6.5K and up and the mids down to 80-100 bandpassed with the HPF on the head unit.

Thanks for the info. Any idea why it states 80 at 4 ohm and 100 into 8 ohm? Wouldn't the 8 ohm rating be lower, not higher? -
Yeah, lol. After I put the little sub back in the box I was a little disappointed...

Alphasonik A-501 Question

Nevermind. Upon opening it up I can see the speaker leads go to two spate parts of the board. It must be a 2 channel. -

My collection. Bout to go active with this setup once I find out what's up with this amp. Want to put the 2 big 2 channels on the mids, one for each bridged at 8 ohms, then the small 2 channel on my tweets, all ran thru the crossover with tweets 5-6.5K and up and the mids down to 80-100 bandpassed with the HPF on the head unit. -
