RE SX Version 1 1200-1500 rms daily?

Your Fi SSDs take it well?

RE SX Version 1 1200-1500 rms daily?

Yeah the alt will be a future peoject. My voltage is regulated by my ecu, so either pay an arm and a leg for a special setup with a dummy signal for the ecu or remove the ac and do a second alt dedicated to the audio system. I am going to do the second alt as soon as the ole lady gets a grocery getter and I have the car to myself. She can't go without ac lol. I found a hell of a deal on 2 d2 RE SX 10s for $330 shipped. SO far everyone says they are beefy little subs. I just think it would be awsome to run 3K on 2 10s lol.

RE SX Version 1 1200-1500 rms daily?

How you like the AP30001D? Everyone I have talked to that has owned one says they love them. I am thinking of running two SX 10s off of one.
  4. This is why youtube videos arent good, because people will see it and you already know what that means that they will believe what they see (speaking in general so OP dont think it is directed at you). Under the right conditions, box, amplifier settings, head unit settings and volume knob control, etc. all play a roll in how much you can throw at a subwoofer. You also have to understand how long you can play it for, under what conditions and be able to see/hear/smell signs of stress on the woofer. But you dont have to run rated power or double the rated power to make the sub do what it is intended to do and perform the way it was intended to perform. No offense taken. That is why I ask questions, lol. I figured he probably had his gains set very modestly. The only reason I asked is be because of the common occurence of companys under rating their subs for noobs. IE the HDC3 will do more than twice rated. Was just curious. Thanks.

    Welcome
  6. Ok, gettin a little worried about all the warnings I have recieved that the HDC3s don't get low and have a funny hollow sound to them. Just sayin, if more then 3 people tell you that you look like a jackass, you might want to take a look in the mirror, lol. So, I am really liking the Xcon 12 D2. Plays low, sounds great, and is a sexy driver to boot. Question is, do you think a Xcon 12 D2 and a Audiopipe AP18001D would be a good match. I know what alot of people will say about AP, but I know they are solid amps that do rated power. Lookin at a box 2.2^3 net tuned at 32Hz. I listen to mostly rap, but also do some oldies like Al Green and a little rock. I want a low and loud daily ground pounder. I think the Xcon is the perfect sub for me. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

    Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?

The 36Hz tuned enclosure comes from DJ at AQ and is the lowest recomended for the HDC3, so yeah I am lookin for the lows. The HDC3 is said to play well into the low 30s high 20s while tuned at 36Hz, but alot of people have complained about it sounding hollow or something and not being low enough. Budget for sub and amp is around $600 for both. So you think if I go with the Xcon, I would be fine with 1500 watts rms. I am sure the DSC1500.1D would have a cleaner signal than the Audiopipe but I was worried about not having enough output.

    Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?

Which would be better suited for a low and loud daily ground pounder for mostly rap and some oldies r&b and rock? Both in a 2.2^3 net box, xcon @ 32Hz and hdc3 @ 36Hz. Both off of 1500 to 2000 watts? DO you think I would sacrifice output for low end with the xcon?

    Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?

Thanks for all the input guys, think I'm gonna stick with the AQ HDC3 and DSC2000.1D and give it a chance. Appreciate the info.

    Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?

Jacob at Sundown did a test on the AP18001D comparing it to the SAE1200D V2 and it did like 1440 rms at 2 ohms wide open, not acounting for THD. Its rated for 1150, so I think it will get close to 1800 at 1ohm and a clean signal. http://www.****/forum/showthread.php?t=15482&page=4

    Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?

Thank you sir. Straight from the man himself, lol. Still gettin used to having questions answered by the owner of the company. I will be setting my gains properly and not using any bass boost or loud buttons. Thanks.

Where's denim when you need him, lol.

    Xcon and Audiopipe AP1800D?

Can't afford both, lol. I could do the DSC1500.1D but I figured the AP18001D would be a better match.

    what should i do?

Do you think he really needs to tune that low? From what I have been told and seen myself, the HDC3s tuned around 36-38Hz still dig the lows.

    The wife got me good.

Nice! My Ole' Lady can't even stand to hear me talk about car audio gear, lol. I get the look of death.

SSA ICON or AUDIOQUE HDC3 15"

I'm aware of that... just trying to see what each offers. From the videos I've seen its looks like the Audioque is quite efficient and goes through notes like butter, while still moving air and killing them lows. I do want it.... I really just wanna stay with the Audioque 1200d and If it could get the HDC3 moving nice with that would be great. I got a p400.4 pushing highs and mids. Might take the p400.4 out to avoid drawing more power and getting some new Memphis co-axils ( they scream even when powered with just the head unit). Until I get to the electrical upgrades. But more opinions on the Icon or the HDC3 based on my wants. I agree, sounds to me like you want the HDC3. Maybe you just need a kick in the ass to get going, lol. So here it is, GET THE HDC3! Ha Ha, seriously though, they get loud and carry the high notes well but still dig the lows. And the AQ1200D will push it decent, even though they will beg for so much more, lol. For a little more you could really do it justice and throw a MB Quart DSC2000.1D at it. $275 shipped on egay all day. They love 2000 watts. Well goodluck with whatever you choose.

    subwoofer comparison

The only way to ever truly tell is to buy them both, put them in the same box, same car, and run them off that same amp. Then decide for yourself and sell the ones you don't like. Sad, but true.

    Front Stage Idea

Thanks, I am getting the ABS from the same place as my fuses and Stinger 1/0 to 5/16" terminals. 17" x 21" x 1/8" for like $10. Should work fine.

    Front Stage Idea

Thinking of running 4 FUSION REACTOR 4" Coaxials http://www.fusioncaraudio.com/north-....aspx#addninfo, 2 in each door. I want to make a plate to fit 2 in each of my factory 2003 Mazda Protege ES 5x7 positions in my front doors. Will be running them off a DSC450 bridged, so 100 watts rms a set. With 2 Kenwood KFC-ST30 tweets in the factory mounts run off the deck, 22 watts rms. No rear fill, gonna leave 6x9 holes open. I want to try something different, tired of just replacing factory speakers with same size upgrades, but not ready to do full blown door pods yet. So, what do y'all think? I think it would be nice and loud yet crisp. Not really anal about having alot of midrange bass, that's what I have the sub for, lol. I just want it to be loud and clear. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
  21. Got about 12-15 feet of 2/0 run from battery to trunk, going to be running DSC1500.1D @ 1 ohm 1500 rms and DSC280 @ 4 ohms 160 rms. What size fuse should I put next to the batt? Was thinking 250 amp, would that do it? Thanks. If it matters, stock alt 80 amp, Yellow Top 55 ah, Big 3 done in 2 gauge welding cable.

    audioque?

The amps are in no way similar to HiFonics. The board for the AQ2200D and the BXi2600D look alot alike, but a board is just a board. I'm no expert, but I know there is alot of other ish that goes on the board and Audioque is said to use top quality. The AQ3500D normally runs $699 shipped but is on X-mas sale (all amps are) for $549 shipped. DJ (the owner of AQ is a good guy and cut everyone a break for X-mas). The AQ didn't hold up to the Sundown in all out power, but all Sundown amps are under rated. AQ rates their amps dead on, DJ swears by this. In a watt to dollar comparison the AQ holds it own for sure. Jacob, the owner of Sundown, even remarks in that thread about how AQ is a quality amp. Bottom line, if you are looking for a great amp or sub at an awsome price with top notch customer service, Audioque is your company. The only reason you don't see an AQ amp in my sig is by the time I have my money and am ready to purchase equipment, they will be offsale and out of my budget .
