Looks great. When my guy did the kerf for my box he mixed up part saw dust & part glue and spread it on the back side of the kerf in the grooves for strength. Just a thought, don't know if you already accounted for this or not. Box looks awsome bruh. You got skills. I know I can't build so I let iamamp3pimp at Bass Heads Ent. take care of all my box building and sub recone needs. (/shameless plug for friend's new website but seriously, dude does awsome work v check the sig Keep up the great work bruh. In for vids. -
Powerbass looks really dope.

Those new AQ's are supposed to be BEASTS Jeff If it where me I'd go that route But then again, if where really me I'd go with an AP AQX35001. -
Nice gear for sure.

Lookin good man. I am an ECT student at DeVry and one of my professors actually used to work for Crown Amps FTW. It's nice to have someone with that kind of knowledge to share ideas with. Keep up the good work, in for vids.

Anyone know why some MT motors are black and some chrome?
PHATBOi replied to PHATBOi's topic in US AMPS
Yeah that makes sense cause I read somewhere the black ones where built for daily. Hence the better cooling and wider gap. Just trying to find out if anyone knows for sure. Seems like no one has even really heard of the black ones. -

Heard the black ones have more cooling, and a slightly larger gap for more power handiling. -

Oh yeah, don't forget those volt meters have to be dialed in as well. WHen you pop the cover off there is a set screw. Where ever you have the hot wire for the vm hooked to (amp, batt, etc.) you should take a dmm and get a voltage reading while at rest with radio on but vol at 0 and then just turn the dial on the vm up or down till it matches the dmm. Hope this helps. -

If your volt meter is on and the radio ain't, then that's your problem. Supposed to hook the remote wire from the vm into the remote for the amps so it only turns on with the system. If its hot wired then the vm itself will drain your batt. -
Can't wait to see this come together. Let me know if you need anything bro. TEAM UNDER PRESSURE 2011!

I'd say atleast 30 mph.

If you are in FL and looking to for shows to attend, I would suggest checking out the home page of floridaspl.com. There is an events calendar with alot of the upcoming events. We have a show at Hooters in Lakeland on the 12th of Feb. and then a cash payout Bass Race event at Tommy Mckinnie's shop, KOB Kustoms, in Seffner on the 27th of Feb. Come on out and check us out.

Pretty stupid you don't even explain why. I'll do it for you. Reading > me. the site I went to ( http://www.maxxsonics.com/corporate/news_0107_Hif_MAXXLINK.html ) said nothing about having to use pairs of amps so I assumed you could use an odd number, but apparently you must use pairs of amps with it. http://www.hifonics.com/Hifonics_Maxxlink.html You got me wrong. I was face palming myself cause I thought I was wrong and you could strap 3 amps with the MaxxLink. That should explain my other post as well. lol
-
Yeah, forgot about that. SO what ohm load would you shoot for. WHat would you strap at?
-
Again this would depend on your goals. The Xcon is a SQ based driver that can get really loud and sound good doing it. The BTL is a SPL based driver that happens to work well in daily setups and sound good at the same time. Either one should be able to take an AQ2200 each in the proper enclosre and gains set correctly (clean signal). And don't forget the electrical to back the amps, atleast an HO Alt and a few group31 batts.
-
You cannot strap 3 amps together. Only 2, master and slave. First off what are the coils on the subs? Do you have them already or is this still in the planning stage? My first suggestion would be to slow down and asses your goals for the system and what your wiilling to do to achieve them. Takes ALOT to support a 4K+ system. And if you have to ask questions like this, then you are probably not ready for one. Not bein a dick, just bein real.
-
Make sure you have the electrical to properly back your amp, set the gains correctly, keep the signal clean, and know your systems signs of stress/ when to back off. Should be a nice setup. In for build log. Would suggest some pro audio for front stage to keep up with them subs. Couple sets of Selenium 6w4p 6" mid range and 2 ST350 super tweets ought to do the trick. I have 1 set of 6w4p and 1 set of Vifa 1" textile dome tweets on an AP3002 and it is suprisingly loud for what it is, but is crisp and clear at the same time.

Sexy sub. Was going to get aset of those components last year but was persuaded to the dark side and got some Eminence 6a's. Good lookin comps, would like to still give them a try sometime. Mad props on building your own box. I am not carpentry inclined in any sense. So I let BassHeadsEnt.net take care of mine. In for vids. Checkout my build log if you get a chance. Thanks.
