That is great to hear. I really like the 15HC but the upper extention is killing me. Unless I was listening to some lil jon or something crunk, the woofer wasn't all that impressive. Maybe it's that I am getting older but I really starting to appreciate SQ sometimes more then loudness. Well, enough of my ramble. BTW, the reviews this thing is getting is just crazy.

I really like you new woofer and was planning to get one of the originals magnums but you now what happened. I am trying to not make this a comparsion thread but it might just become one. I currently own the 15HC and I am looking for something more efficient. I really like the low end of the 15HC but I would just love a louder all around woofer. I have a viper 1200.1 amp that puts out about 1200 watts and the box I am currently using is 4.05 cuft tuned to 30 hz. I plan to buy another car next year and would like to keep the box I made for the 15HC until I get the new car. I was basically looking for a woofer that would be a better option in terms in loudness if I did a direct swap. The 15HC is low end monster but the upper reponse (40hz to 70hz) leaves me wanting more. I have a set of 6.5 inch cdt comps in my doors but I still have a noticable gap in system. Does the Magnum D2 have the same reponse as the HC or is it somewhat different? If I were to put the mag in the same box as the 15HC should I expect better SQ or worse SQ? I listen to mostly hiphop music but I do venture out to different genre's of music sometimes. Sorry about the long post but the only woofer I have heard that is somewhat comparable is the 15HC. Sorry if it seems like I am rambling but this is the only way I can compared the sound of the two drivers. Milton

How much you pay for it? I might be picking me up one in the future.

No one ever seems to be there. Maybe they hate me.

Why can't the RE HC be in a sealed box?
TheVanMan replied to TheVanMan's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Well, I got the winISD file from the winISD forum and when I put it in, ia 15HC got EBP of 59.8. I don't know if it's right or not but that's what it is. Actually now that I have it modeled in a 2cuft box it seems there is very little bottom end even for a the 15. It has a frequency response of -6db at 30hz. I know that windISD is not the most accurate and it doesn't make up for cabin gain. It seems that they model way better in a ported box. -
Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone would know from experience why the HC's aren't put in sealed boxes that often. I seen on some forums people who want to put the HC's in a sealed enclosure, but then other people are like "no don't do that" but they don't give a reason at all. I searched and searched but haven't been about to get a real solid answer. I ask RE and they said that they don't sound bad but they don't get as boomy. However isn't this true with most sealed vs. ported applications. So know I am even more confused about the situation. I have 2 of the 15HC I bought from the sale if you guys are wondering. Spring break is coming in a couple of weeks so I plan to put them in my car then but I am still deciding on the what box I should put them in.

Which amp Orion Vs Tsunami???HELP!:(
TheVanMan replied to papichulo1's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would go with Tsunami. I have the db1100 and it was a great amp. I never heard the orion so I can't tell you about that. One thing I noticed is that the orion high pass filter says it fixes while the tsunami is adjustable. Just something to think about. B) -
Hey everybody, My name is Milton and I currently a member of caraudio.com and SI.net. This board is small so it looks like it will be easier to make friends so I am down with it. I drive a 92 plymouth voyager. I plan to run an 15XXX someday when they are back in stock it's all good. I got my 2 12 infinities for now until they blow. Well, enough rambling, so what's up.
