there's plenty equip that won't last the long run from being abused daily. i have 2 ssi 10's in the gf's truck with 1200 rms each one (2.4 kw total). they'll take it all with music and most rap. if i were to drop a pure 25 ro 30hz sine wave to them with that power, that's a little too much. but really, how many subs can you daily feed them over 1 1/2 times their rated power and have them live for very long? only a few of your more expensive ones. the gf's have been getting slammed for over a year and they're still ticking like day 1.

$180, jump on it! m.s.r.p. is $400. comparable subs for less? doubt it. in some aspects yes, but not all aspects. the ssi 12 will drop really low notes out of a peanut shell size sealed box, sounds great with anything, will take rated power and then some, and you can beat the hell out of it day in and day out with NO FAILURES. no sub is indestructable. treo's might be a little pricey, but as long as you're not cramming them a major clipped signal or doing something totally stupid, they will take abuse. put atleast an AX 1000 on it.

that's funny. my gf had my truck one day and did the whole stop light db drag. then the guy wanted to race and she blew him away at that too. it's obvious when you spank someone. i did it with one of my friends and he said i was shaking his rear view harder than he could. they also get a look of defeat when they can't hear theirs over yours. dimmage is bad, but i usually only romp that hard in comps. h.o. alt and extra batteries still isn't enough for 4 autotek mx 5000's on 2 treo ssx 15's full throttle. and for the race afterwards.... i only have the 2 g's worth of accell mini ram to complete my full roller, afr heads, 383!

usually i laugh and shake my head when some bumps at me at a stop light. if i have all my windows up, i might crank it for my self. but i fade my subs way down and don't turn it up if my windows are down. lot's of deadening, 151 db's @ 40 hz inside, sounds stock outside. there is one time i couldn't resist. one night, i was eating in a restaraunt and this guy kept cruising back and forth bumping. had the typical audio related stickers. so i leave and i'm heading out of town back to home in my town. there at a stop light was the guy still bumping, in front of me. i couldn't help but roll my windows down and just squeeze the onion for all it had. everyone around was pissed off from their cars shaking, i gain another 3 db with my windows down. the guy in front jumps back and forth, looking all around. then looks out his back window at me, cause every bass note my lights dimmed to about nothing. when the light turned green, he raced out of there like i was chasing him to kill him. weaving in and out of traffic passing.

as far as i know, that holds true. genesis built dls amps, then dls had them reverse engineered. that is why their made in taiwan amps are great amps with out the high end price. their speakers are also now out of taiwan. i heard supposedly that their irridiums were a copy cat of dynaudio's with a different cone. but if morel was their original builder, that would explain a lot too. and dls is still winning sq comps and still kicks but, regardless of where it's made. i think this industry will see (and is already starting to see) better and better products coming from the orient. you have better companies involved over there now, just using their slave labor to build equip and also not having to follow the strict e.p.a. regulations every one else has to. the whole situation that is going on is a bad deal imo.

the problem in the IS was deeper than the xover i believe. but yes, problem has been solved. the amps used to sound like crap at low volumes in lp,hp, or full range. i think it's more than just the TU's that have the L and R rca colors reversed.

Whats THe Best Dampening Sound Suppressor???
95stroked1500 replied to KeeEnterprises's topic in Advanced Discussion
fatmat, brownbread, secondskin, etc... they're all decent. best imo are the cascade audio engineering deadeners. they don't come cheap like the others and there's a reason for that. -
IS line, good bang for the buck. a little cleaner than i expected for an entry level amp vs many other main stream brands. what i don't like about it (dealer perspective), anyone can go online and get them to their door for less $ than an authorized dealer can get it to his door. fawk that. so far i've heard a few other dealers deciding not to carry us amps any more and i can't argue with that. cause there's other just as good lines out there that don't screw their dealers like that. MERLIN, again, serious bang for the buck and good sounding. AX, no explanation needed. lives up to it's reputation.

Whoever told you that is chatting poo. The 12AX7's in the TU series are being run from a 300v supply, not 50 as Tru like to claim. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no, that 50V is from what i remember, but i could be wrong. it's been over a year since i looked into that portion of the amp. i'll look it up the next time i remember. i've got the paperwork from us amps where i thought i read it. better yet,.... when ever i get caught up, i can go in the amp and test for myself as to how much V is there.

here's one i did for a crystal cmp 8. i like tl's, great sound and depth extension.

i can look and see what tubes are in the tu 600, but they run @ 50v off the top of my head. tru tech tube amps run @ around 250v on their tubes. and tru tech amps are a true full tube amplifier.

any dealer can sell you an amp and ship it to you. BUT, out of our territory, we cannot sell it for below m.a.p.. i have the #'s written down at the shop. off the top of my head it's 30% or 20% off retail on the IS line and 20% or 15% of retial on the merlin line, AX line is not to be sold out of territory for below full retail. your local dealer can sell it for how ever low he wants to anyone who walks in his store. i can sell you us amps if you need.

when i put one on my dynaudio's, i ended up listening to all of my old music over again. great amp, great speakers will really appreciate it.

i think that would be a question for dirk, their engineer. class AB are going to run warm, especially if you push them. and 1 ohm will get it even hotter. finding out what needs to be modded, i just might have to do. because i've got plans on an A2000 (modded AX2000 to run at 2 ohm mono/ 1 ohm stereo). from modding other amps with protection circuits, i know you have do add capacitance in the circuit so it won't go into protection. i don't know about swapping the capacitors, what i see happening isn't higher voltage, but more current flow due to less resistance. which might take out your output transistors. i've had some schooling in electical, but i'm by far not an engineer. so i would say email us amps direct. it might take a while to get a response, i think dirk is away on business for a few weeks.

the amp is sweet. very good sounding. it's not quite designed like the tru technology pure tube amps, but is an awesome amp. it does a a cleaner crisper sound to tweeters and warmer vocals and instruments. once you use the amp, you will understand "warmer".
