I'm looking for something that will take up little space. I want it to be able to get loud if I want it to, but not sound like ass. I was also looking at the Dcon, but didn't put it on the list because the above subs are close to or at what my amp does (600 @ 2). I'll probably just end up going with the Dcon, that way I can add another one later on if I want to.

After doing some testing with a few different size subs and enclosures, I've decided that I need to go with a small enclosure. I don't want to go much larger than one cube. The box I have now is 1.21 cubic feet, and I that's about as large as I want to go (preferably smaller, though). So, I'm needing some suggestions for subs that work well in smaller enclosures but still get loud. Budget (for the sub) will be around $150, give or take. I'll have a custom box built, probably downfiring so I can throw stuff in the back and not worry about punching a hole in the sub. The amp I have does 300 @ 4 and 600 @ 2. This is a daily driver and I listen to just about everything. I've always run sealed and would like to try ported, but I don't know if there are many subs out there that work in small ported boxes (other than the SA-8). I won't be buying until mid to late July, so I have some time.

I've been Googling them, but I trust the people here more than most of the random reviews out there. I'm just wanting to know how they perform, SQ wise, SPL wise, etc.

You'll find out maybe A JL Audio W7 8, which retails for a blistering $439.95. Looks very nice.

I don't have much to add here: Headunits-Kenwood, Alpine Coaxials-Alpine Subs-ADIRE! (favorite of all time), old school MTX, round Solobarics, Clarion (impressive for the money) Amps-PPI (Had an old one years ago but can't remember which one. Got hot as hell but ran like a champ.), MTX

Nothing at all wrong with their logo. Nice, clean and simple. I'd rather have equipment that looks "amateurish" and performs great than something that's all bling and craps out after a week. yes but isnt the point of entering a business to make the most amout of money as possible? just thought he might want to enter into the mainstream...since thats where the money is at.. the logo isnt to mainstream appealing. Different strokes, I guess. I like the logo, but that's just me.

I'm getting very interested in these subs. Any idea when the DVC versions will be out? Edit for reading fail.

^^This, or it didn't happen. Looking forward to them.

Since I've got some time before buying, I was going to experiment with my Shiva and see how well it works. Thanks for the link. Interesting read. I really wish this sale was going on in July or August, or that I had the funds right now. I'd buy two of these in a heartbeat.

Possibly the funniest subwoofer video of all time

2008 Saturn Vue. Those were another possibility.

From what I've read, downfiring can increase the output. Is this wrong?
-
That's at the top of my list. That way, if I do decide to go bigger in the future, I can just add another Dcon.

Yeah, I found those videos after I posted.

I'm wondering this also.

Nice reviews. Need vids.

Welcome. Good to see another Kansan here.

My wife and I are looking at getting a couple of smartphones. I've never really done any research on them, so I'm looking for some advice on good phones and service providers. I don't need anything fancy in a phone. Basically something that I can use for phone calls and internet. A few things that would be nice are GPS and a camera, but they aren't a necessity. Anything specific I should be looking for or looking to avoid in a phone or phone plan?

Yeah, I'll be buying online. I've found quite a few refurbs, but I didn't know if it was safe to buy them or not. I've looked at the iPhone but didn't know if I should go that route or not. I've read lots of people trashing the iPhone, but I've also read lots of people that like them.

After doing some more looking around, it looks like AT&T is going to be my best bet (at least in this area). I'm really liking the Motorola Backflip, but there's a few others that I like also. It's kind of like subs. Can't decide and keep flip flopping back and forth.

Interesting. Never seen that before. ^^^This.

I don't think there's many on here from the area, but if so, is anyone going? Event Calendar AutoSound Inc.

Yeah, I need to do this, but I need bass more. The factory speakers are pretty good sounding, but a little harsh. Still, they will hold me over until I can do more research so I can install some new ones properly. I might even try my hand at building some kick panels.
