    8" DCON?

Yep, the DCON 10" is at the top of my list. That way I'll have enough money left over to get a really nice ported box made for it.

    8" DCON?

I know I saw a thread about this a while back, but can't seem to find it. I think I remember reading about a 8" DCON prototype. Whatever happened to this? Was it a flop or was there just not the market for it? I know I'd jump all over a pair if they became available.

    8" DCON?

This was a while back. Can't remember when it was though.

    Got a new toy today...

Very nice. The DCON is still at the top of my list for my next purchase.

    Dan208's simple little system.

Still does. I'm still trying to decide if I want to get a new sub/subs or get a really nice custom ported box for this thing.

    Dan208's simple little system.

I'm not sure, but I think it might be. It's about 5 or 6 years old. And yes, it does get damn loud for a single sub. It's the only sub that I've ever got to actually make my rearview mirror move out of place, and the box is sealed. I'd love to hook it up to my HT, but I don't have the time to build a box for it. I'll probably sell it when I get my new sub(s).

    12" DCON in Mazda Protege5

I can has your skillz? Looks nice. Thanks for this. It's reading things like this that are really making me lean more and more towards the DCON.

When does size start to matter?

Also keep in mind that a 2x4 isn't actually 2" x 4". But use the same formula with the actual measurements of the wood and it'll work. I thought of this. Thanks.
  13. When does the size of an enclosure start to be too big and start affecting performance? The reason I'm asking is because I was thinking of using the current box I have (it's for a 12") and building a faceplate for it, so I can fit a 10" in it. The box 1.21 cubic feet. I was looking at the 10" Icon, but after displacement there's still about .19 cubic feet extra. Is this too much extra volume?
  14. I know I don't. I have heard systems that sound pretty good, but as far as a "SQ" built system, I have no clue.

    Box for Z-12's

I may because I'm leaning towards the Z-12's If you decide to sell around mid to late July, let me know. I might take one of them off your hands, if they are dual 4's. I'm not too far from Wichita (maybe two hours), so I could come pick it up.

When does size start to matter?

Yes. How do you figure how much volume these would take up? It's a prefab box, so some bracing inside probably wouldn't hurt anything.

    Opinions on these subs.

Yeah, I just thought maybe someone had some past experience with them. I might try and bump my budget up for the Icon. I blew my previous custom 10" a while back and I'm waiting for a recone. When I get it back, if I can get it sold, then the Icon will probably be my choice.
  21. Just tossing around some ideas. This isn't a "which sub is best" thread. I'm wanting peoples opinions on these subs: Pioneer Premier Champion Pro Series DB Drive Platinum Series Alpine Type-R RE Audio SEX Soundstream Reference Series Like I said, I'm just looking for peoples opinions on these.
