What is so funny bro ?? please explain ... I guess my sarcasm didn't translate too well. Just trying to make a joke about people thinking you need tons of power to get loud. Fail joke is fail.

Honestly, I've always prefered the sound of sealed enclosures. Don't get me wrong though, I love my ported Dcon.

I know right? another story to add....pulled into a gas station and some lady at another pump thought something was wrong with her car......Lol It's funny really, people just assume they wont be loud sealed. I had 2 15's sealed too back in the day and they will get pucking down! Back in the day I had a friend with two sealed Soundstream SPL 12's and they were insane.

Extending power and ground wires?
Dan208 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I was thinking of extending my power and ground wires to give me a little more flexibility with my amp install. Would it be ok to solder some extra length onto the existing wires instead of having to make a whole new run? It would probably only be a foot extra at the most. -

That was something I was wondering about. I also thought of this. -

4 gauge. The way the wire is set up now, I'm pretty much limited on getting an amp that has all inputs and controls on one side. If I can extend it a little, then I'll be able to open up my options on what I can get, since I'll be able to get something that has RCA inputs on one side and power/ground/remote inputs on the other. I'll see if I can find some pics of how it's set up now (it's raining so I can't get any pics at the moment). -
any disadvantages to amp being up front?

I've run plenty of amps under my seats (front and rear) and have never had a problem. -
Awesome. I may have to change my plans again.

There's only a few shops around here, but they are all pretty good. Guys that know their stuff and are extremely friendly, and help you out as much as they can.

Must have been customer error.

I've decided to go ahead and keep my Dcon, but now I need a new amp. I'm on a tight budget and I found these two: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236RFL202/MTX-RFL202.html?tp=35757 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9037_MTX-Audio-XThunder-702X.html Both are right on my budget, but the main thing I'm looking at is that all the controls and inputs are on the same side. Where I'm mounting it (under rear seat) and the way my wires are already ran makes these two a good fit (my old amp was an MTX RFL600D). I've never understood the technical aspects of amps, so what I need to know is which amp would be a better choice?
-
Yes, sir. My plans have changed again (imagine that ), so these two amps are out.

Single. I also might add that I was extremely disappointed with my last amp (SS Tarantula) so I'm kind of hesitant to spend more money on another one.
