Front speakers buzzing - No music
AZ TC replied to AZ TC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I tried this, and nothing. I also tried bypassing my crossovers to see if that was the problem, and it wasn't. I tried switching the RCAs to the rear channel to see if it would help, and there was no noise whatsoever. So, I'm gonna try to pick up another amp tonight and see if maybe I just have a bad amp. -

Would one speaker grounding out knock out both of them through the amp? -

Front speakers buzzing - No music

I turn on my car today, and I get nothing out of the front speakers except some buzzing, popping, and engine whine. Everything was perfect last night when I turned the car off. I'm driving an 08 Scion tC, JVC KD-AHD69 head unit with a CV 400.4 amp running a pair of Diamond Audio D3's in the front, my rear speakers are powered by the head unit. I checked fuses, ground, power, and RCA's: they are all good. Here is a video I took of what the sound is, and the second is of the front speakers picking up the sound of my mirror as I adjust it. Any help anybody? -
Pioneer In-Dash DVD debate
AZ TC posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm looking into getting a Pioneer In-Dash DVD. I want the AVH-P4100, but do you guys think it's worth the extra $100 or so than the AVH-p3100? Also, what about the p4100 vs. the p4000? -

My spin on things -
Do you need the two different size depths (top, bottom)? What type of music do you listen to mainly? What amp will you be using? I would prefer to keep the height down as much as possible. Drive a tC, and I want to be able to put the rear hatch cover down when necessary so nobody can see what I have back there. I guess I could also make an upward facing box as well so that I have more height to work with as well. I listen to a lot of rock, but I'll be bumping more hip hop when I get this put in. Also, I'm using a Cerwin Vega Stroker 1000.1.

Then do you guys have any ideas for a good box builder?
-
The interior volume is for the space outside of the ported area. I was messing with dimensions with the RE Audio Box Calculator
-
So, I'm set out to make a ported box for one 12" SSA DCON. I looked at all the specs, and here is what I have come up with: Width - 30 in. Height - 14 in. Top - 12 in. Bottom - 16 in. Wood - 0.75 in. thick Square port width - 1.5 in. Square port interior length - 9 in. This puts my Interior volume at 2.311 ft^3, and the tuning frequency at 28.28 Hz. This is about the best I can do with dimensions that can be easily cut, and that will fit my Scion tC. Do you guys have any suggestions? This is my first box I will be building, and I know all about the supplies, I just need to learn more about the dimensions of box building, as well dealing with the ported volume. Here's a quick pick of the box that I calculated on RE audio's box builder:

I'm getting it for 160 used. Will it have problem power the 2 DCONs though? -
Hey everyone, I was at the USACI/Second Skin show this last weekend, and I won a couple SSA subs, the 12'' DCONs. Anywho, I wanted some input from you guys as to what I should use to power it. A guy I know that works for Diamond Audio suggested this: Diamond Audio D3 600.1 Someone else said that amp isn't going to push enough power. So, what do you guys think. Any suggestions?
