Ok, I got this idea from looking at Decware's planar speaker design they have up, LINK and was wondering if this could be scaled up for a home subwoofer type setup. My thinking was with the large radiation area could make up for using a smaller driver due to the fact that the displacement of the airmovement is going to be pretty dang big. What I am wondering is if anyone knows of anything like this that has been done before. I think if it could be pulled off with reasonable degree of sucess it would look really cool with maggies, plus I think it'd be a challenge o build something like this too. Does anyone have an idea as to what size of panel area I would need for a woofer, and what volume of airspace would be needed in the panel. I really have no idea as where to look on something like this, other than try to build one and see what happens. So any opinions are welcome

Unless it has a hole in it, don't worry about it. -
Well I will do a high quality, extreme SQ install. I really want my SQ amps to shine and I know my 7-way 6x9's will really show them off. Now I just need to get the right wires. I'm thinking rhodium plated silver or amalgamated copper wound elemental titanium? I just want the extreme LSQ. ' lol

Just went to my boss's machinery sale, the first of about 5, he has so much stuff it isn't even funny. Bought dad 5 hand planes, 2 No 8's, 1 No 7, 1 No 5 1/4, and 1 No 5 1/2, all for 200 bucks. Dad was pretty pleased when I called him about which ones he wanted. *wonders if this is the wrong crowd to be talking about hand planes with...*

I've always thought one of those would be cool, but I'll stick to my good ole fashion map for now.

Ok so June has arrived, I've got the house and we now have a webar in the basement. The only problem is that we don't have much alcohol currently to fill it with and I'm looking for some recommendations as what to get to stock the bar with. Keep in mind this is a college budget and I'm looking for more middle of the line stuff. What we already have... Jose tequila Disaronno Crown Assorted whiskeys What I'm looking at... Seagrams 7 (gotta have the 7 & 7) Rum, need some ideas as to what kind Vodka, cheaper stuff Drinks for the womens, the fruity crap Mixers General bar crap Also, I was thinking about picking up some wine, except I don't know crap about wine. So basically I'm looking for some input from people who already have stocked bars before and know what gets used the most. I drink pretty much anything so I don't have any particular thing that I drink always and I'm nto real picky. The bar.

So on the home computer there is one hell of a nasty adware/virus thingy. Dad called and said its accessing the hard drive and etc, etc, etc. My problem is I can't get rid of this damn thing, I've tried virus scaning, adware stuff, spybot and I just can't get the damn thing off. My solutin is I'm bringing my computer home for the internet machine while I wipe the home computer...

These are my Magnepan MGIIB's, pretty darn nice speakers I think. They are just huge, 6' tall, 21" wide, and only 2" thick though. The other speakers you see are my Fostex FE103E's that I built walnut horns for, they are my brother's now and I still have to do some fix work on them, sand, and finish the cabinets. The maggies are not in ideal locations, but its about the only place to put them while I'm here at home. On to the pictures! The gear running it currently Yea, they are tall. (I'm around 5'10") We might have a book or two in the house

John Deere 8100, the chittiest seat and radio ever. Its a pretty new tractor (90's) but the seat is basically covered in burlap. Pulling a John Deere 1770 16row planter, we just got the planter brand new this year and dad is NOT happy with it, the quality has just gone down bigtime from what John Deere use to be. Needless to say next implement we buy might not be John Deere, and that'll be a first.

Yea, the equipment rack is beautiful isn't it?? Haven't gottne around to building my real one yet. I've thought about supertweets, but I just really haven't gotten around to it yet. I'd like to get them sanded down and finished first, then I can think about that.

Damn 12hr days with the majority on the tractor.
