You're the expert Sean, what would the most effective type of brace be?? I'm kinda leaning toward the picture frame style, or the same thing except with a big oval/circle cut out of the inside, space them about every 4-6", then put struts running horiz coupling them together so the braces themselves don't reasonate. I'm just guessing here though.

13 is on the conservative side, I'm not sure how big of a coffee table I want yet. I'm also a little curious as to how much I'm going to have to brace it so it dosen't vibrate any. It is going to be all birch and I want it as light as possible, but I'm not sure that is going to be very light.

I can get upwards of 13 cubes gross out of a coffee table woofer box, it looks like I might go ported in the house. Now to only decide on a woofer... Choices are RL-P 18, Dual SSA ICON 15's, and a MAG 15"

Heck I bet if you just used electrical tape pretty tight since it stretches it would work pretty well too.

The subwoofer's rubber ring might going to rip!!!
topgun replied to conradl's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If you do get a hole in the surround, be it from a drill slipping or something all you have to do is put a thin smear of good quality silicon sealant over the hole/rip and let it cure for a couple hours before you start using the sub again and it should be good. -
It would be alot better if you would put a pice of harder rubber (old hose off of a car, slit the side and just stick it over it) with silicon on the pipe side, then put a hose clamp around the pipe/rubber patch so the hose clamp is taking the water pressure and not the silicon.

Flash drives FTW?

I remember one time Dad fixed a leaking manure hardline pressure hose (injecting manure into a field for one of the local dairys) with bailing wire, a pop can, and duct tape, and it held just fine.

La Migra! But then don't they just run and leave the vehicles??? Reminds me, I need to find a mexican boot store to get some new boots.

Fully cure? 24hrs I think.

lol, i dunno if they'd appreciate that... I don't know how you guys work over there, but here no-one cares, but then there aren't many people out here and the number of vehicles that get stolen I can probably count on one hand.

Simple, move their vehicle out of the way, then lgo to the bank in yours. They will get the idea.

Went to the other work site today to drive a forklift for a couple of Indian (one professor, one grad student) fellas here in the dept. and I think they were pretty amazed and how fast a competent forklift driver can move stuff. It was funny though, yesterday they asked me if I could run a forklift... "Can you run a forklift" "Yep" "Are you certified?" "Nope" "Have you ever driven a university forklift before?" "Nope" "And you can drive a forklift???" "Yep" "Can you do it safely?" "Yep, I learned how to drive tractors when I was 10, forklifts are easy." "*looks at me funny* Oh, ok, you know what your doing." I also had to be the one to drive the truck and trailer (halfton truck wiht a crappy little trailer) because trailers scared them... I kinda laughed. They looked at me funny when I could back it up too.

Time to design an entertainment center/tv stand that can house 10-12 rack spaces plus other crap. I think I'm going for the lightweight, uglier approach and just going with some birch ply for this design, I'm tired of moving heavy chit.

All I can say is... What The fudge. *scratches head*

I saw that, but the way I look at it is the larger you go, the more limited your high frequency range is and since I'm only going to be running up to ~50hz I figure it would work out. *edit* I was wondering if the MJ-18 had a vented pole....
