Thats for the positive comments guys. Heres the lastest round of pictures. The tape lines didn't come out perfect, but I'm happy with it. The paint on the back end came out alright, could have been a lot better though. Overall I'm satisfied with this one, just need to finish the other one.

Well, back out to the woodshop.

Thanks! Selling my creations is something that I would like to do, my current plan is to start my own small custom home audio speaker shop and do custom work for people (sometime in the next 5yrs). I'll build for any of the main people on SSA for cheap just to get some of my work out there, but I really don't have time currently to do a lot of building although I would really love to. Oh, there will be more pictures posted sometime today/tommorow of hopefully one finished tower and the other one almost done.

Anyone know anything about a Sony PS-X55 turntable? I found my folks old one and its mine if I want it, heavy little bastard, just curious if it was a decent one or not.

Yep, the woofer boxes will be out of ply *I haven't even made one cut for them yet...*. Downward firing 15"

I need to build two woofer boxes, and finish my Mileva's all before monday afternoon. I can get the woofer boxes done (2.2 cubes sealed, double layer front baffle) its just waiting on the f'ing paint and stain to dry on the Mileva's that is going to get me into trouble.

I can and it froze me up like a deer in headlights not all that plesant I am glad the stereo is off in the other room as there are no local speakers on this computer...I will probably forget to come back and try as well. I tried it, I could hear it no problem on 20$ computer speakers.

I have a feeling the extra minifridge in our garage is getting turned into a pony-kegerator

The design is ment to be placed close to the wall and not need baffle step correction, hence wide baffles. The dimensions are growing on me but if I had my druthers I don't think I'd have such wide baffles either. But thanks for the compliments though guys. :)

Build log updated... And I'm out like the fat kid in dodgeball

This is the current state of them now. I powered one of them up tonight and was rather pleased as to the sound, some things could be helped a little bit in the HF but I think I can work those issues out without any problems. They are going to be a dark walnut stain on the front baffle, yes I do realize there is an *opps* on the front, but when I'm done you will never realize that it was there. You can see from the pictures the current status on them, they will be finished by monday so I can take them back to school with me. Cutting the port out. The listening trial. The shop. The current equipment powering them (it's a lot easier to move this stuff then my normal gear...) And what they look like currently. The red is just primer, it will be black when done.

*waiting on slow ass internet to upload photos*

Got one of my Mileva's to playing status for awhile, sounded just pretty darn good, few things that could be improved on the higher freq, but I think clay on the basket would help out some, along with probably a phase plug sometime too. I've got pictures on my camera I'll go get 'em in just a little bit.

Cutting tin with a circ saw is one noisy affair.
-
I don't see why you couldn't just heat it and bend it...
-
What about using some sort of mechanism to dampen it?
-
I hate gluing on front baffles.
-
Lets see here, I paid like 80 bucks for two, so I'll give you 350 shipped for your pair?
-
Also need to build me some new woofer boxes. 2.2 cubes sealed, then also find some sonotubes to play with as well.
-
Maybe I'll even get around to finishing rebuilding my tube amps this semester...
-
My Mileva's will be finished by monday mid afternoon, they are going to be done when I go back to school. I'm anxious to see what the little 4.5" driver can actually do.
-
Its tempting to put the words "Got front baffle?" over that photo. Looks good, have you put the drivers in yet to see what they sound like?
