Oh and Sean, it'd probably be about a year until I go out to MTS training, but when/if I do I'll be sure to give you a call, I'll be there for a week, and I'll be over 21 then.

Well, time for bed. Later ya'll.

Do custom speakers and fabrication as a side job for some extra cash too. It'd be anything from custom entertainment centers, to welding, to crazy ass speakers.

I think I've made up my mind on if I am going to go for my boss's job. He is going part time on July 1 (3 days a week), fully retiring on Nov 1, '09 (thats when his anniversary is). I talked with him the other day, and he would like me to take his job, and the other two professors that deal with the shop would like me to take his job as well. I've been working there for 1.5yrs and know about all of the general workings, people, tricks to the machines, etc, Dave (my boss) said he will help me get fully situated before he leaves and teach me all that I will need to know about being an electrician (3-phase testing, wiring, etc, etc, I already know some) before he leaves. I can already do most mill/lathe work and basically anything that needs done in the metal/wood shop. I'd be 22 and running the Civil Engineering shop, I would be getting trained on the MTS machines as well (up in Minnesota) and completing my engineering degree. Once I get my BS, I'd go to full salary, 45k/yr, health care, 12 paid sick and 12 paid vacation days per year, and whatnot. I would also be able to use the shop for personal use when nothing else is there to do (aka, build speakers) and do that there until I can get my own shop up and running. Work there for awhile until I can get my own custom speaker/fabrication business up and running and then go from there. All in all its a good job, nothing to demanding, and I really enjoy what I do there too.

Jim, your a lucky bastard.

Gee, how thrilling, doing a slew of problems using Kirchoff's laws.

I like it, I'd love to have one of those.

4" PVC and pipe couplers if you want the easy way out.
-
Don't worry about it then.

Is the baffle finished or raw? If its sealed up I think you should be fine and wouldn't worry about it.

Make sure you put handles in the speakers for ease of movement, along with making a lockable rack for all your gear. You don't want a drunk at the party f'ing up your stuff.
-
If you want something that can be mobile for parties, I'd make a PA style monitor using a 12/15 and a horn, something like the Eminence LTA driver and a horn that you like, passive crossover (with BSC), old QSC rack amp, ~400w per channel, and a cheaper preamp.

Can't remember, is this in a dorm, apartment or house? That shall be a dorm. But every now and then I would take it over to my friends house for parties too. They have this nice big long living room, 50" flat screen, and absolutely no tunes Beware, moving your gear for parties is a serious pain in the ass. Been there, done that.

Me=sober. Not feeling the best and I am going to the shop tomorrow morning to work I do believe.
