If I didn't have this job, I'm actually not sure if I would have made it this far in school with the amount I hate it.

what exactly does the latch do? LOL, it might help to know wtf the towel rack does to understand the latch. It is mounted vertically on the wall, and it folds down for putting towels on it and while in use, then folds up against the wall when not in use to get out of the way. I also did custom hinges with built in stops at 90* on it, but they aren't anything special, just a little bit of work with a plasma cutter and two bolts.

If it all goes to the current plan (this plan has gone through the dept head too!) in a year and a half they will be paying me ~46k/year to run the shop, get paid good money to build shit and go to school at the same time.
-
That would be me. I get paid to build a bunch of one off custom shit for various projects, its the worlds most kickass job ever.

On that top one, I was challanged to put a spring loaded latch on a towel rack, so I did. It has held up beautifully for a year now. It is the mother of all towel racks, it'll hold like 2 dozen at a time. Its made out of 2" angle iron and 1/2" aluminum rod for holding the towels.

I edited with descriptions.
