I got a 30/30 on my tech writing paper over tool wear monitoring. Nice to know I haven't completely forgotten how to write. Pisses me off that it wasn't more points though.

The answer is a most likely no, but what do you need done?

There isn't a completely "green" electricity source out there. They'll bitch about everything, so they may as well lay off. It's not like they're going to think up any new ways to create electricity. Screw the hippies and go nuclear.

what'd you do? Lol, your bitching at getting up at 9? Wow.

Headache over here....

Wow, thats a lot to chew on K so your desk looks pretty big... I like it. Configuration I'm still throwing around I like the idea of a raised ledge towards the back. I could possibly only do that on the sides of the back and leave room to push the latpop back for working space. I could possibly do something like yours and then incorporate my own rolling shelves, cabinets later. Easy to move would be cool, but not the highest priority. I would like it a little more refined looking on the sides, possibly covered sides? ~$100 would be stellar Metal would be great to help make it stronger, I like it strong Assuming your talking about slides/rollers on the drawers? Mcmasters is crazy By the way my neighbor restores antiques and has built cabinets and helped my dad build his work bench, so anything I need or possible crazy tools I should have access to. Funny you should say about the sides, For the last couple weeks I've been wanting to redo the desk, possibly just make a new one. My desk top is 6'x3' and I built it out of scrap I had laying around in the woodshop at home. For enclosing the sides a table saw and 1/4" plywood (oak, walnut, wainscoting, etc) does wonders and looks good. Go talk to your neighbor and see what he has for ideas, he probably has some scraps that you can have free reign at too.

I'm guessing you are going to be limited to using plywood rather than hard woods, which will make things easier and cheaper on you too. Thinks I would figure out if I was you. Size/configuration of the desk top Drawers/shelves -Filing cabinets are easy to do instead of drawers, might look into that, I did that for ease of construction Any special requirements -I wanted it to be easy to take apart with only a screw gun Budget -I built mine for under 60$ Bracing to keep the desk top from sagging if you only do .75" thickness -Steel works wonders, I have a piece of 1x3" tubing under there, it doesn't care if it gets sat on. -Big ass knee braces work wonders for lateral support. Drawers -Do you want slides or rollers? -Any hardware you can't find or want to see a wide variety, look at www.mcmaster.com Thats what I can think of currently. If you want I could throw some rough sketches together for you if you give me some ideas.

Yep, I've got some ideas. Do you have any specific goals you want to accomplish, budget, materials, or look you want to copy? Not really big on the terms of goals. Just looking for something that I can do work on. My current desk has wood longitudinally up the desk and its uneven, which is really annoying. Would be cool to have an extra level to set the laptop up on so I can do work in front of me and still have the laptop to view. As far as material. I don't want it to look like a cheap ass college budget but I don't have the skills you do so I don't want to make it too nice. This is my desk that I built awhile ago. I wanted something it if it got ruined I wouldn't care, look somewhat decent, and yet be able to take apart and store flat for moving without to much effort.

That would be pretty awesome. I don't want to spend the 1000+ for a cheaper 'fire rated' gun cabinet, I don't need an honest to god safe in a rental house so I figure why not make it as inconspicuous as possible and have it look like a drawer? Front face folds down, then dual deadbolts and steel front with pull out slide for long guns with a pistol part on the side, with linear bearings I can make it with 1000lb+ load capacity without any problems. I'll be sure to post pictures as it gets built. That idea of yours got my gears turning for ideas............Out of curiosity, could you do it with some linear acuators to move the drawer out with a 'panic' button so your pistol is right there at your finger tips? Just an odd thought The carry pistol will not be housed in there, if locked up it will be in a quick access handgun cabinet. I've looked into the finger/hand scan stuff, to damn expensive for my tastes.

Think I'm going to make a underbed gun storage cabinet this summer. Some linear bearings, some fire rated sheetrock, some steel, some oak, little bit of redneck ingenuity and I think I'll have a slide out gun cabinet that is fire rated and looks like a typical oak underbed storage cabinet.

Hopefully everything turns out well for you Kent!

You do realize that true enthusiasts make up a minute percentage of the audio market, correct? The vast majority are ignorant and could care less. Sad thing is that is true for the good majority of every hobby I think...

Ran out of propane on the grill. Damn.

Got the VATS bypass installed, seems to have fixed my problem. Nice to not see the blurb on the dash about the 'Car may not restart', when I see that I start wondering...
-
How do I get that? Google

The tires on teh woman's car are almost completely shot, weather chapped to hell so going to do some wheeling and dealing with a guy I work with to see if I can get some better tires for it. They are bad enough I'm not sure we would put one of them on a dang irrigation pipe trailer, let alone a car that sees the highway.
-
if it's the same VATS as on the Imp, you just measure the resistance of that chip in the key and then put the same value resistor inline with some wire under the dash Yep, already have the resistor wire made up and sitting on my desk just have to get it installed.

Chinese food + coffee + beer = thank god for university crappers. I think I just lost 5lbs.

I swear. Everything my roommate touches that has electronics stops working. Either that or my car got pissed that I was driving a different one for a little bit and decided to throw the VATS problem out at me.

I love my Lenovo, but they sure as hell are not cheap.
