One of the grad students has a pilots license and his set runs about 350$ I believe. It is something in the mid range of sets, but it is still pretty darn nice. Get something made for pilots? LOL! I didn't think of it, but I doubt sound clarity is all that awesome. They would be durable I bet. I wonder if they come in 3.5mm audio and mic?

The ones I've seen have the 1/4" plug I think, but they make adapters. One of the grad students got his pilots license and he has a cheaper mid range set and it runs about 350$. They are really really nice though.

Me? The trip was great spent the weekend in Niagara Falls Canada. A lot has changed since I was there last. They had a Christmas light lighting concert Saturday and that was very nice. Actually was referring to Peng's Acid adventure, but would have asked had I known you went on a trip. That's someplace I've never been and would like to go. I remember going to the Falls Canada when I was younger and we lived in Michigan. It was pretty cool, I would love to go back. Its no longer a day trip driving up through the U.P. and then over through Canada to the falls for me though.

I have some Northern Tool & Equipment generic shit I bought new that are in the same range. If I can count the ones I received for Christmas then WAY older I've got some stuff that is from '91 that is mine, thats as old as I go on tools. Needless to say they were gifts and engraved with the year (we always put years on tools), I didn't buy them...

Speaking of which I finally used the UniSaw this weekend for something useful. It is about damn time.

I love Wiha screwdrivers, just bought some more actually.

I fully agree that the tools don't make the mechanic, but a mechanic appreciates good tools.

Now at home we made sure that only Craftsman wrenches went into the hog houses in case they fell into the manure pits.
-
Same here. Unless I need something for light duty power then I'll use craftsman tools. However, I use some snap on wrenches and they just seem better for some reason... Maybe I like their sleek, smooth, finish on ours. They are longer, smoother, easier on the hands, and easier to clean. Downside is that they are twice as expensive.
-
Best thing about craftsman is the fact I know where their store is to go get a new tool when it breaks and don't have to go find someone on a truck, or take it to a friend who is an plane mechanic to exchange for me when the tool man comes to see them.
-
My interested in Craftsman tools has been fading away for awhile. They aren't bad, and work fine but I would rather spend my money on something like Wright, SnapOn, Matco, etc. Most of their power tools to me just plain old suck. The only thing I've found that suck in a good way are their shop-vacs that we have floating around here, they take a beating and keep on going.

To take film at low light of a wedding they are. Optics ain't cheap. True, but in that aspect a real video camera is going to be a significant improvement over any DSLR from what I understand. All the movies/tv shows that are shot with DSLR *cough* House *cough* is more of a publicity stunt and requires a TON more post processing than a real video camera. But I've gotten off topic and the real intention of the discussion. Kinda depends on what you want to do with it.

Video cameras aren't that expensive.

Do it! Unless someone sends me a message tonight/early morning the Cadillac is going to go boom like so.

I have a working 4gig Sandisk Sansa if you are interested...

Can you get them to honor those lower payments for only say 6 months then have a re-evaluation period or something?

I want the thing gone though, it has done nothing but take up space for the last couple of years and I have yet to actually do something with it besides move it to 3 different houses/apts.
