I am generally opposed to magnetic racks due to placing your blades on metal...you however have skirted that concern and made something gorgeous in the process. A few build shots would be great Yep, I didn't want to put them on steel, so here we are. It is super duper easy to make and would be a great project for your Unisaw. I found a website that already had figured out rough distances on how thick the wood should be depending on magnet size. I used some 1"x.125" round disk N40 Neo magnets that are siliconed in a dado on the back side of it. Basically I found some scrap maple and walnut, ran a dado in the back slightly oversized, glued some endcaps on, sanded the corners off, roundover bit, and there we are. I used Mineral Oil on it since its the same thing I use on the cutting board. The magnets cost me 20$ but that is it, everything else is scrap. No dado, but I added a router plate in the Unisaw table. Figured I can route almost anything that I'd need to dado. Curious on spacing and thickness, although I am not sure I have a place for one. Might make a stellar gift though My mom has a magnet mount. The magnets are just stuck edge to edge, works pretty well. I didn't even use a dado head on mine, for something that small you can just do it all with multiple passes on a regular blade then use a chisel to clean it up. I will try to get a photo of the back sometime today.

I didn't change anything on your account, only the spammer.

It looks like it isn't level in that photo, it doesn't look like that on the wall.

I finally got my knife rack hung the other day in the kitchen.

Busy is good. I agree I've been going nucking futt's this winter, I hate sitting idle. Being slow at work and saving money at the same time is killing me. I read that as 'licking muffs' Guess I know where my mind is at.

What the hell Sean? Kansas isn't mentioned in your list... I can't blame you in the least bit.

Tomorrow is a high of 12*F, windchill of -8 to -18, and guess who gets to clean out a concrete mixer with a power washer?

Finally got the damn magnets in for my magnetic knife rack. Now time to glue them in and throw some mineral oil on it.

It was 4* here when I went to my car this morning. The soles of my boots were frozen solid when I walked into the shop.

Teh Japanese are nuts with speakers though.

Those are pretty sexy looking. If they preform halfway decent that would make a damn fine desktop speaker.

I'm a little confused as to what the actual problem is, and whats missing.

I will have to give it a try. A dark lager I REALLY like is Negro Modelo. Yum, Yum. I drink the Negro Modelo's often when I am out having dinner at a restaurant. http://www.yucatangrill.com/ If you are ever in Seal Beach, stop by this place. Good food and good people. I love it paired with Mexican food, lime and salted. I am usaully in that area once or twice a yr, I will have to try and remember it. Hit me up when / if you are in the area, we could have a drink or 12. or 12 Only 12? Wimps. Thats reminds me, I just watched Mythbusters and they were doing a test about hang overs. One guy drank 11 beers before he thought was going to have a sufficient hang over, the other guy drank 5.... Yes 5 Whoa, I remember in my prime a 30 pack of cheap beer wouldn't give me a hangover. Now about 12 quality beers will start to give me one.
