    Welcome to the IHoP

Do you actually need finned radiators or would just aluminum work?

Buy some expanded steel from mcmaster carr. Don't use aluminum, it will be too fragile. I found 22gauge Steel, hexagonal holes, 70-79% open, you think 22gauge is thick enough? 22ga is pretty darn thin.

    Glock 19 or 21/30

If its legal and justified you don't have a problem, if its not, well you deserve to be fucked.

If the goal isn't to neutralize the threat, whats the point of shooting them?

Sorry, but no. I don't believe extractor failure and slides breaking make them superior to Glocks. Link? I love my XDM. I haven't read anything about issues but I'm not actively looking either. The Glock felt horrible in my hand. I was raised on the 1911 though and perhaps that biased me. Not to mention it's hard for me to seperate Glock from gangbanger in my mind. Other than you cowboy. My brother has an XD, I don't mind the gun, but there are people who have problems with slides cracking on slightly higher round counts(~7-10k if I remember correctly), I don't have any links right now though. I love my Glock.

There are better .45's than Kimber, they don't exactly have the best track record. If you are going to carry, get actual training and keep up on it. The caliber debate is worthless, what a .45 gives you over a 9mm is personal preference, little different shooting gun, and less magazine capacity. For all practical purposes it is not superior in stopping power. I beg to differ on the caliber debate. I have seen people shot with both 9mm (beretta) and .45 (glock) and the deceased I have seen from the .45 were dropped with less rounds fired than with the 9mm. I have seen a hadji who had taken 4 9mm rounds to the upper body (upper stomach/chest area) and still kept going. Then I have seen another (similar dress, age and build) take one .45 round to the same area and drop dead. For my money i'll take the .45 J Handgun rounds are a lot different from a rifle round since they go less than half the speed and don't have the energy for such a large temporary cavity that causes damage. A persons mindset is a large part of if they keep going, or if they lay down and die unless a hit is to the vitals/CNS. That being said, most people even if shot with a .22 are going to lay down and try to die, it all depends on the person and their mindset. There are plenty of police reports of people being shot with .45's, .44 mags, .40 S&W multiple times center mass and still not dying instantly or even getting knocked down. Everyones seen this, but there isn't much difference in the rounds. Now that being said, if I had to pick I'd rather be shot by something else than a .45, but I really don't want to be shot period.

You can also go a trust or corporation route instead of getting the CLEO to sign off. It normally takes up to ~120 days to get the ATF to complete the paperwork.

We also have an xd with a 0.357 sig barrel, nice firearm. I'm not very informed about the Glocks, but on the xd and xdm just by looking at the pistol you can tell if there's a round in the chamber, and if the hammer is cocked. Oh and the safety works off the grip, so unless your actually holding it or applying force to the back of the grip, it will not fire. ALWAYS ASSUME THE DAMN GUN IS LOADED. Loaded chamber indicators are pretty worthless and it is a solution to a problem that does not exist. You shouldn't be pointing it at things you don't want to put a hole in anyways. Safetys are mechanical items, they can and will fail, it takes the trigger being pulled to fire a gun, and hence why don't point it at things you aren't willing to put a hole in.

The 19, its slightly smaller and ammo is cheaper. If you have it, you need to shoot it, and you can shoot more and get more training for cheaper with a 9mm vs a .45. The other advantage is 19's are everywhere, holsters are easy to find used, mags are easy to find, etc.

And then no dress clothes Never said there was anything wrong with boots, just that dress boots is an oxymoron. Of course if you go to church near where my wife is from polished work boots, a Vikings shirt, and jeans if ultra clean are considered dress clothes. Ah, I see where the confusion is. I'm not talking about polished work boots; I only wear these particular boots with formal attire. Cheaper and more comfortable than any pair of full brogue oxfords I have come across. If I need to kick some shit, I pull out the Red Wing lace ups. All my construction friends swear by Red Wings or Tims. Danners are the best work boot I've ever found, double the price though. I'll pass that on. They complain that the waterproofing wears out fairly quickly so I think they try to buy cheap since they're replacing them frequently. 300$ for the made in USA Danners, I've worn Ariats, redwings, etc and nothing compares to these for work boots on my feet. Fuckin A. I pay 150 for my standard style 'sneaker' boots. 175 if I want steel toes. Granted mine are a desert sand color and stain easy as hell. Makes me feel better about that. J Yep, I bought 2 pair for 150$ each when they had their friend and family sale, thinking about buying a pair of steel toes.
