i used crystal components and subwoofers for about a year. in my opinion, they sound great. the speakers can't handle that much power, but as long as you don't throw a lot of wattage on them they should be fine

as long as you don't hear distortion, i would use it. distortion kills speakers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heat & overexcursion kill speakers. Not distortion. Not all distortion is bad, and to my knowledge, in the history of car audio, it alone, has never killed one single sub or speaker. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know that some artists use different instruments that sound "rough", but that does not mean that the music is distorted. No type of true distortion is good. Ask any true audiophile that question and I can guarantee that they will not agree with not all distortion is bad. I have heard many systems that "don't" have distortion and they are world/state champs and I have heard systems that "have" distortion and blow speakers all the time. Underpowering a speaker is likely to damage the voice coil due to the excess heat created by distortion. This distortion, called clipping, is created when the amp is not able to supply the power demand when the volume is turned up. If you turn the volume up very high without the power to back it up, you'll end up clipping the signal coming out of the amp. The speaker will try to reproduce this clipped signal, and if played under these circumstances for any length of time, the speaker will not last very long. A member named smokedog on this forum can verify that lol

Indeed, but ragnaroksq called: Zapco I-450 Amplifier Zapco I-2100 Amplifier Zapco I-5.2 component set Zapco I-6.2 component set Arc Audio KAR 10d subs Entry level. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lol...Zapco considers the i-force products entry level <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you and I both know, anything from companies like Zapco and US Amps and ZED that are called "entry" level are not really entry, they challenge most average companies mid level and some high level lines, damn it, maybe when I come back down for court I can hear your car <{POST_SNAPBACK}> let me know when you will be in the area. i will try to make it back down to dave's house. i still have half of the eq to tune once i can eliminate the rattle in my doors. -

my tweets are located in the same area, but i have a 5.25 midrange in the kick panel and 6.5 midbass in the door. dave's car sounds good without the kicks. if you don't want to build kicks, maybe your installer could angle your door speakers. that would give you better sound. -

the best advice i can give is to attend a car audio event and look and listen for products that you like. i have been through 7 systems and dropped a lot of cash in the past, and my current system is the best in my opinion. as for how much a speaker can handle, you will be happy with a speaker that can take 50 watts rms. as long as you get "clean" power going to those speakers and they are installed properly, you should be fine. hell, i'm running entry level equipment in my car, however, I score the same or higher of some of the "pros" that compete. knowledge is the key questions for ya nate...are you doing the install? are you going for a stock look or will you be adding kick panels or any other modifications? -

I agree 100%. i'm using around 40 watts on my mids and they are loud and clear. Most people that hear my car think that I am using a lot more power, but it's the install that creates the illusion. -
Thank god he looks like heather lol congrats fool! I will see you in a few days
