    Need some help tuning subs

What Im thinking is that those subs are crushing the low notes (you said you can hear it a mile away but cant feel it in the cabin) and not doing to good on the high end, which is what you guys are wanting. Right or wrong? Yea but it just wasnt sounding like it should insides the truck. We did some more tuning to the head unit and and I got him some songs that are killin the lows. And maybe the subs still have to break in a little and loosen up more. -Alex

    Need some help tuning subs

I will try and get a viedo at 30fps and the clip light. The prob is you can hear the subs coming down the road from about a mile away but when you get in the truck they dont seem to hit as hard as you think they would. I talked to the guys at Fi audio and they said to pop test the subs with a battery, check the voltage drop, and turn the LPF down to about 80. The guys at FI also said the box and port where perfect for the setup so that is not the problem. It is my little brothers truck that the system is in but he doesnt know how to get on here so I do it for him. He is in hoover, al about 15 south of bham. But he will be coming down to Auburn, AL to see me this weekend. -Alex
  3. I just got 2 Fi Q15's with the BP power and put them on an Audioque 2200d amp. I have listed the specs of the system to see if everything is tuned right? Because the subs just are not hitting as hard as I think they should. Specs: Box made of 3/4 mdf. The box is 8 cuft NET tuned to 32hz with 106sqin of port. external dimensions- 43" wide 30" tall 17" deep Port on the far left - 28.5" high 4" wide keep port 4" wide throughout. The right port wall is - 28.5" high x 11.5" deep The port wall to the right of that is 6.25" deep x 28.5" high And here is a pic of the box. Shizzzon came up with this idea for us and it turned out great, he helped me a lot in doing this system. The amp is an Audioque 2200d and we ran one + of the amp to the + on coil 1 and ran the - of the amp to the - on coil 2, and ran a wire from the - on coil 1 to the + on coil 2. We did this to both subs to run a 1 ohm load because we got dvc 1 ohm subs from you. We tuned the amp as, LPF set between 100-110, subsonic filter set at about 30 hz, bass boost set at 0, and the gain set at 3/4, and then set the volume on the head unit to 27 and turned the remote bass control till the clipping light started to flash with the bass. We can all 0 gauge wire to the amp and have a 1900 amp battery. Does all this seem to be right? Because the subs just arnt hitting like I taught they would? If you need any more info I can try and get it for you. -Alex
  4. I guess i will run a 300 amp soleniod, I dont see a down side to running one. But should I have it some on when the key is turned to accessory so like just the raido is on, or should i wire it to come on when the key is turned to run?
  5. I am going to start installing my system next week and I am going to add a 2400 amp kinetik battery in the cab of my truck. I have seen some people say that all I need to do to hook up the 2 batteries is run 0 gauge wire with a fuse connecting them. But I have also seen people say when you run 2 batteries you need to wire in a relay or isolator between the 2 batteries. What do most of you run? Specs: Stock Alt. Optima Red Top for the started battery 2400 amp kinetik battery 0 gauge wire Audioque 2200 watt amp 2 Fi Q15's Kenwood 140 4ch. amp -Alex
  6. I am trying to plan how I am going to build a box to go in the ex cab of my toyota truck. I am putting 2 Fi Q15's in it. The space I have to work with is 53'' wide 17'' depth and 22'' tall. I was told to use 1 layer of 3/4'' MDF then after the box is done add a 2nd layer of 3/4'' MDF to the outside of the box to help reinforce it, is this right? This is the first box I have build so I just wanna make sure I get it right. But this is what I have come up with so far, how does is this right, the subs call for about 4 cub feet each tuned to around 33.
  7. I would love to have a sundown amp but even used they are still a little too much for me. But I havent heard anything bad about the AQ amps but are there any other amps for around $350-400 range that would be better than an AQ 2200?
  8. I think Im going to have to go with 2 Q15's with the BP and the Audioque 2200 or find a used sundown amp for around the same price. I would love to buy one new but money is just kind of tight.
  9. First of all you mean an amp that puts out 2000 wrms @ 1 ohm, did you read the noob posting guidelines. No Hifonics in my opinion, the Sundown SAZ-2000D is the best choice out of them all but its not in that price range for a reason (better quality, more power and still efficient when voltage falls some). Sundown SAZ-2000D FTW Yea sorry I meant 2000 watts rms at 1 ohm. I was thinking about 1000 watts rms to each sub.
  10. I am about to start building my system in my ex cab toyota truck. I am not sure if I am going with 2 Fi Q15's or 2 BL15's, fully loaded yet. But I need a amp that puts out around 1000 watts RMS at 1 ohm for around $360. So far I have been looking at these: Hifonics 2600W for around $350 AudioQue AQ2200D for $390 Which one of these should I get or is there any other amp out there in this price range that might be better?
  11. I have a toyota ex cab truck and I was wanting to know what is the biggest sub set up I can fit in the back? The space in the back is 19'' deep X 22'' tall X and 53'' wide. I want to do a ported box with either 2 Q18's or 2 Q15's. Given this amount of space what do you think I could fit back there? -Alex
