Just send me the address you would like me to have them shipped.

I have some Nebraska plates if you would like them.

I have a Sundown 1500 that I have collecting dust and just haven't put in the effort to sell. Two of the speaker terminals need to be re-threaded which is what I plan to do before selling. I could pull it out and redo those threads if you think this is an option that you would like to take.

Great cause. I think you made an error on ending June 7th? -
I like the simplicity of the system. Are you using any type of crossover on the towers? I'm interested in seeing the results of the Orphan. I am currently making the Zaph ZDT and will be using an Orphan as the sub stage if I like the sound of it. I plan on running it with a PR though.

It works/loads/posts just fine here. I haven't been able to log in for a while Clear cookies and cache etc.? PC has been reformatted since I last tried. I think I know what your issue is. Click on the windows logo next to create account, it will appear with a sign in page that on the right side will say "use regular sign in". Once you click on that it will bring up the ability to sign in. This will help answer your questions in your previous post because I was going to ask the same questions until I looked over on HAF.

No it does not. I was just looking around and read great reviews on those "overnight sensations." What would you recommend? I would like to go the DIY route so I can build my own enclosures but if I found a good deal on something built, I wouldn't mind. I made the overnight sensations a couple years back and still use them, but mostly for listening to music in the basement now. They are good speakers for that budget point, yet I believe there are some better options out there that won't be much more. I'm not sure what your goals are exactly, but there are many good designs for DIY. I actually just bought all the supplies to make the Zaph ZDT3.5 yesterday with the current sale going on at partsexpress. It ended up costing a total of roughly $415 for two towers. I can't tell you how they sound, but from what I read they should not disappoint.

I will take offers on trades. I don't have anything in particular in mind that I need though. -
Loud front stage opinions (SQ guys beware, lol)
ralstonballa2413 replied to swift's topic in General Audio
So basically this question that you are asking has nothing to do with this topic, since you just said you won't be using a passive crossover. This is just a general question asking what changes in parameters between a speaker in the 4 ohm version and the 8 ohm version. Which in that case no the frequency does not change. Ohms have no correlation to frequency. -

If you have a 4 channel amp now then why would you switch to a 2 channel? Or did I miss something? Also, if you have the capability to run an active setup with your headunit then why are you planning on using a crossover? Do you plan on making a crossover to run the mid and tweeter together or purchasing one that hopefully has the exact crossover frequencies and slopes that you need? -

In that video you posted, the guy states that faraday's law of induction is changed when it comes to voice coils. I'm not sure if I could believe a guy that says a law happens to be changed in one particular instance... -
i think you want a pair of 2x4 units. the nanodigi outputs aren't analog. on the other hand you could get away with just 1 2x4 unit if you doing the subwoofer channel processing at the amp. The miniDSP's stack and two of them take about the space of a deck of playing cards. Thanks for the help. I was assuming the stack of two 2x4 minidsp's were the way to go, but figured a second opinion would be a good idea. Nice to know a size reference too. This should give me a fun little project to do over the next month or two. I may even pick an extra one up to mess around with on the home system.

I believe it does, but I am not doing the change over for that reason. My main reason for doing the change over is for security reasons. Looking at a car that has no signs of an upgrade comes off far better than one with even something as small as a CD player which was removed upon exiting. If I can switch over without losing any functionality of the 880, or possibly a gain in functionality, and not having to deal with any substantial cost to me (assuming the 880 goes for roughly 200 still), then this seems like a no brainer to me.

I have been thinking about moving to a tablet as my HU in my car for a while now and using two 2x4 minidsp as the processing for a 2 way active setup. I know that this has been talked a lot about in here, so I figured I could possibly get a question or two answered here. They just released a nanodigi 2x8k and I was wondering if that could be used as a stand alone unit like the minidsp can or would the best way to set this up still be by using two 2x4 minidsp? All I am really looking for is to replace my pioneer 880, so the only features I really need are a high/low pass filter, time alignment, and a little EQ capabilities.

High quality USB
ralstonballa2413 replied to arctictwist's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Whenever I am looking for cables I go to monoprice. Never had a problem with one of their cables and are as cheap as they come. They sell many different kinds of usb cables. Just look around there until you find what you are after. -
Very understandable. I had to look at it a few times to make sure I wasn't missing something. I guess I figured you were talking about LED TVs when you were comparing price. LCD does seem to be cheaper, but that also seems to be going away in large sizes due to LED technology. Just like getting the best picture only comes on the TVs with the unnecessary features that no one really needs and for me would rather not have or have to pay for. The Kuro Elite was a TV that was truly spectacular and still never matched.

The only TV in the top 5 best picture quality (2nd overall) that is an LCD is the Sharp which is over double the price of the panasonic plasma (1st overall). Picture quality of a plasma is definitely in a league of its own when comparing the two technologies. I completely agree with you on the calibrating issue. Out of the box settings are a joke and should never be used. Paying someone or even buying a blue-ray to calibrate it yourself is a small expense to get a great picture compared to the $1500+ that you are spending on the TV. I agree that LCD TVs are getting cheaper, but plasma still hold a savings to them with similar features and picture quality. Both technologies definitely have their own reasons for being purchased, so I would never tell someone to always buy a plasma nor would I tell everyone to always buy an LCD. The environment they are going in would be the first ingredient in the mix of choosing. I did not post here to tell him to buy a plasma as in this case to me it sounds like an LCD would be better. The reason I stated anything was because some of the facts you were saying I just do not agree with.
-
that is a huge selling point for me. Maybe more so than the cost. I have a bigger size living room that seems to catch a glare no matter what. I can't keep my house pitch black all hours of the day. I think that plasma and LCD are about on ar for angle and brightness in todays TVs. What I think you will see is you can sacrifice a little detail and contrast from a plasma and still save a good chunk. If yoj don't have the option to view them in person and try viewing from the side first then maybe generically I would say you get a wider viewing angle on an LCD and thus go that direction, but to me LCD and plasma are becoming closer in usability. Plasma just costs a little extra and you can get really amazing contrast(especially in blacks) from them. Plasmas are the only TVs that have ever wow'ed me. I helped TMax21 (hasn't been on the H0P in forever) pick out his TV and the plasma won on looks and price. I went to my cousins a couple years later and I told him that I really liked his TV and it was the best I had seen since TMax's plasma and he then told me his was a plasma also. ON the other hand my roommate now how a super thin LED and Idon't like it at all. Everything looks like a hispanic soap opera. Completely agree. Plasma definitely has a much better picture and this year is suppose to be the largest difference in picture quality from a plasma vs. an LCD yet. I'm not sure why price is believed to be lower for an LCD vs. a plasma especially when the sizes get larger. Plasma is a technology used for larger TVs and price has been one of the largest reasons why people look to buy them when getting into the 50"+ range. I agree so heavily on the soap opera look in LED and LCD TVs. I can't watch anything on an LCD or LED TV that has not been properly adjusted because of the horrible picture. I do still see a bigger issue in plasmas when it comes to very bright rooms although it is getting better. I do agree though that viewing angle is not to be considered unless the majority of things are being watch from 120+ degree angle in which case I would advise you to turn the TV or adjust the layout of your room before buying a TV to watch at an outrageous angle. Edit: miss hit and put 60 instead of 50.

Having trouble with an order from FI

On the website under Fi Q10 it states that it will take 10-15 business days which you have just hit the low side of the mark. Should be shipping out within the next week if those times are still accurate on their website. -

How did it go from 100% efficient to 1 watt from the battery makes almost 1 watt of power? Doesn't sound 100% efficient to me. If no heat is created at all then what would be the point of heat sinks? When trying to sell a lie, you need to sell it 100% not like the nearly 100% similar to the amps efficiency. -
How about you read this or just even take a glance at the chart and that is how people know how much neo has gone up. If you bought that sub only a year ago it would have still cost nearly double the price for the magnet only 2 months later and this does not even show the continual price increases that are happening. If you read this article it basically explains exactly what you are after. It even talks about how companies were eating costs for a while as they tried to figure out what to do which is what Nick explained Fi was doing also so just get use to the price increase as it will not be going down any time soon. http://reefbuilders.com/2011/07/09/neodymium-prices-magnets/

Classifieds Software now installed
ralstonballa2413 replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in News, Announcements, and Lobby
I like this style much better. It is great to see the price without having to open the topic up to then search through to find out that they forgot to even put up a price. My favorite feature of it is having the latest classifieds up on the right column of the forum home screen. Sometimes I like to quickly just see if anything is of interest to me and seeing a quick run down of what was recently added and who put it up is nice to have. Another great feature is how it is much more difficult to clutter up the for sale thread now and it forces people to use the personal message system more.
