    Best Amp For . .

I did ask if the two amps listed above were 'quality' enough to comfortable give it the 800-850 rms it needs. . . The 1200 rms hifonics should, give it 850 comfortable right?. I'm just checking, i'm *assuming* it should. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I'm here for your guys advice. -And yea, I AM A have to shell out a few bucks for the 0 gauge wire.

    Best Amp For . .

Ya most likely, he had my old system 2 Rockford Fosgate p1 (12s) , ya he was pushing them hard. SSD 15 is rated for 800 rms, so 800-850 should be fine. (i'm sure they can take more than that) An the hifonics should be able to do that without killing itself. Thanks for the advice man.

    Best Amp For . .

Ya its a daily driver, i don't realy want ANY strain on the subs, (Friend just burnt his voice coils so i'm a lil , scared) Aslong as the subs are capable of taking the power i'll give it to them, And that sundown looks badazzzzzz, but i don't have 270 currently, and i don't think i'll really need 1200+ rms going to the sub? Can it take that? Ya i can get a 1210D aswell. (the 1208, 1209, 1210 i believe is the year it is. 1209 = 2009 1210=2010.

Do Fi Subs Require a Signature?

I orderd a sub last week , shipping is scheduled for 10/1/09. Its just left Atlanta at 9pm toinght. And i live in the Mid-East coast of florida. . I'm thinkin if my package could go from Moussiri to GA in one day it can make it from Ga to FL overnight, and possibly be here a day early *Crosses Fingers* Any previous package receivers(ow that sounded so dirty) of Fi Subs know if they require a signature i can't find it with my tracking number. Thanks!
  6. Sorry about this really really , noobish question but i was doing research and couldn't find this answer out myself. Materials : AMP- http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Pyramid-PB448 (worst amp in life, but its all i have laying around , until my other one ships in mail. SUB - Fi SSD 15 DVC 2 ohm. Is it possible to wire up the left REAR channel of the amp to one voice coil and the other voice coil to the right REAR channel of the amp to get the 250rms per channel @ 4 ohm. to equal 500rms. or since the amp is brigdable , wire both voice coils together and bridge them into one channel? (AMP is not 1 ohm stable , so i'd need to wire them for 4 ohm.) Thanks i just wanted to ask before i blow up my , speaker/ amp. XD This info. would really really help,

    home depot MDF

Not sure about home depots grade. . . But i am sure than you should NOT let them cut the wood. I gave them an exact print out of the dimensions i needed. Everything listed and diagramed. Somehow they managed to screw that up and half the pieces that were right, didn't fit properly with each other and the box leaked.

Wiring Up 1 DVC Sub , to 2 channels of an amp.

No, i don't think that amp even has a highpass. lol I was using the frequency response.

    ? about gain setting

Hmm good question, . . i'd like to see this answer too. i'm going to guess at it though. The gain will have the same output for 30 or 60 hz , and it doesn't matter which one you use. And will drawl the same voltage for either hert. Just a hypothesis. i rely have no idea.

Wiring Up 1 DVC Sub , to 2 channels of an amp.

Heres how i wired it. (NOne for more than 45 seconds, b/c they didn't work) Both Voice Coils bridged into 1 channel. ( front and rear) 2 Channels bridged into 1 voice coil 1 Channel per voice coil. ( running both channels at once, Rear right , rear left) Wired it in Series. (+ and - to one channel of amp, then + and - together linked on the other voice coil) None of them moved the cone, there were vibrations coming out but no movement that could be caught by the eye. i switched the amp from mono to stero, just made the voices clear. Gain was turned up, freq. up. Am i missing something?

Wiring Up 1 DVC Sub , to 2 channels of an amp.

Thanks everyone for the responses. (I hooked it up only the sub , with a 12v battery and ran the RCA from the 360 to the amp) BUT i wired it up numerous different ways and couldn't get none to work, i heard the music faintly playing in the woofer, but the beat would NEVER drop. I cone didn't move, at all i could hear little things around my house shaking so it was doing something. . . But i didn't get anything excursion AT ALL, i just assumed this is because that amp just sucks bee'z wax and couldn't even move the dam cone of the sub..??? Five minutes before i hooked up a better amp (friends) and had it bumpin to that amps potential it brought it into protect mode everytime gain went up . (only a 270rms @ 4 ohms , not 1 ohm stable) So its obvious not the subs fault, is it possible to have an amp that is just not strong enough to make a sub move? I'm sure i wired it properly, i tired so way different ways thinking WTF. all same results. Is my conclusion that this amp just doesn't have what it takes. . I hooked that same pyramid amp up the earlier day to a lil memphis 12, and it had it movin around a little.

Fi SSD 15 - Copper Coil

Fi SSD 15 . Copper Coil How much RMS will this take without any chance of blowing. Says 800rms, but how much will it take to really slam, safely, (my box is 3.5 cubic feet. 33hz)

Wiring Up 1 DVC Sub , to 2 channels of an amp.

Yea i kno Kills me but i'm waiting on my new amp to come in the mail. I'd kill for the money to buy a Sundown saz2000d settling with a hifonics 1200 @ 1 ohm. so it should run easy to push out 800 ish watts, an would match up nicely with the SSD correct?

Fi SSD 15 - Copper Coil

I'm not really going for a super -spl setup. But just wanted to know about what i should be running it at. I guess i'll do it around 875-950 I can set the gain with DMM. I did the calculations, i just want to double check. . I have the Dual 2 ohm subs(i'm running it with at 1ohm) So the subs are Dual 2 ohm , but the tutorial on here Says that sqrt(900 x Ohm of speaker) do i calculate 2 ohm subs? or 1 ohm load? Either way i could have, sqrt(1 ohm x 900 ) = about 30 volts sqrt(2 ohm x 900) = about 42 volts. Which one of those is right? So i have a DVC 2 ohm speaker, wired to run @ 1 ohm. What volts should i use to have it at 900 watts out of the amp. Amp peak is 1200 @ 1 ohm. hifonics 1206d

    Subs that hit your chest.

I'm in a Crown vic , bigger car. I'm stepping up from 2 rockford fosgate p1 , each getting about 150 rms each. Not any chest beating there, Next step up is this setup i got goin here. How much of a difference are we looking at.

    Subs that hit your chest.

What makes your setup hit your chest hard? Is it the RMS amount? Box Tuning? Sub? What would be the best way to get the hard hitting, urghh my chest bass (: I have an Fi SSD 15(copper coil), just built the box , tuned to 33hz, 3.44 cubic ft. Powerd by a hifonics 1206d. Box is built just waiting on the Sub to come in the mail. If this setup isn't going to do it, then thats alright. But what is this build good for?

    Box build for crown vic

K i'll just make a box. I want the most decibels possible out of the sub, without pushing the sub / amp too hard. About how much RMS should i give it and for a really hard hitting bass, what should i tune the box to? Thanks for all the help so far.

    Box build for crown vic

Crown Victorias have some pretty big trunks, i drive one. Heres a pictures Is there a way that i can place ONE piece of MDF and mount it somehow onto my trunk so i don't have to make a whole box. Its my car so i can use up that space however i want, place it anywhere in the trunk.( dont' have to worry about groceries etc.) I want to use 1 board, and the trunk itself to act as the rest of the box. Is that possible or will it be bad for my sub? Any help in this area will help, just bought a SSD 15. Or if you know any other simple ways to not have to go threw the trouble of making a box.

    Box build for crown vic

Sorry for not being specific enough, i drew this picture on paint to try and help illustrate what i'm going for. ' I want to put a board over the top of my trunk dip and place the sub into it. Or possibly position the board elsewhere in my trunk so it will fit the neccasary space requirements needed for the box. Assuming that the dip will not provide enough cubic feet needed i cuold possible place the sub this way.. ALSO, if that were possible. Could this be used as a port. . sorry i'm putting another horrible ms paint picture up XD Okay, if all that would work. And i calulated all the space lenghts/heights/board(hypotenuse) specs for the box build, could i also just make an insert to fit into the hole i cut out for the port to what ever lengh i need it for the tune of the box.? Sorry if i lost anybody . . ..whew.. (in the above picture,NOT my exact same car, my car is a police interceptor an the trunk dip appears to be bigger than that, the above car seems to be possibly an LX or grand marquis.)
