    Fi Bl 15"

have a friend who had 2 cvr 12's in about 3.50 or so cu ft. box tuned to about 38hz running at 1 ohm with a 1500 watt audiopipe amp. sounded good.. but then we installed 1 Fi Q 12" D2 in a box around 2.5 cu ft. tuned to 32hz.. i know its not a BL but i think the Q hit alot cleaner and harder than the 2 kickers. moves alot more air. Just my experience, take it for what its worth. good luck. Edit: Vehicle was a 02-04 grand prix
  4. I recently bought a kinetik hc2000 from amazon.com, price wasnt too bad at all.. now im looking and there out of stock for a while, dont know when they will have more. shipping is estimated at 1-2 months,.. i cant wait that long lol.. Is there anywhere else you guys know of to purchase these battery's at a good price?

probably not what your lookin for, but ill share anyway. background probably makes it un unusable as a t-shirt.
  6. Ive been lookin around and not finding much of what im looking for. Im going to need one of those volt meters like the infamous "stinger" one everybody seems to have.. problem is that thing is ugly as can be and too flashy for me.. the whole big bright stinger thing isnt for me. I would prefer a small, simple voltage meter i can mount anywhere i choose. If someone can point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it. thanks

    2 18 BTL's??

Alright, while i sit here waiting for my order to arrive for (1) 18" BTL D2, i decide to browse craigslist.. I run into another 18" BTL D2 which looks to be in good condition.. $380.. now im really confused. lol. I haven't had the box built maybe i should just go with 2 instead of 1? The current amp i have is a sundown saz1500 .. which would be fine with 1 btl but i dont think its gonna cut it with 2 of them.. so my options IF i decide to buy this sub... buy another saz1500 and run them separately @ 1 ohm each... Strap the 2 1500's together and run them @ 2 ohms together.... I would love to sell my 1500 and buy a saz3500 but that's out of the budget right now. Doing this will put my build off at least a month as im gathering all the needed equipment, i will have to get more wire, another battery (OR 2).. what do you guys think? Keep in mind i have never heard a BTL in my life yet.. There really is no point to this thread except to read what you guys have to say to help me decide what i want to do. I have no goal except to be very very loud, no competitions or anything.. have a friend with 3 15" audiobahns which you could say i want to be louder than lol (he has a stock alt and 1 battery with a 4000watt amp LMAO).. just post whatever you guys think, vehicle is a 97 Tahoe, sure i could fit 2 18's back there.

    2 18 BTL's??

yea, then i would lose sleep. I dont know what im gonna do, but hopefully the 1st btl gets here soon and i suppose ill start with that. Pics will be here when that happens.

    2 18 BTL's??

if i was running 2 btl's on a 1500 watt amp it would drive me crazy knowing the subs will take more than double that . I will lose sleep at night over that one LMAO. sure it would sound awesome though lol.

    2 18 BTL's??

yea .5 ohm was another thought, ive heard those amps can hang at that low, just knowing the warranty doesnt apply that low makes me wonder, my amp was bought used so warranty is out the door, but if i fry it somehow it will be my own fault. I have a 220a alternator that will be going in and so far just 1 HC2000 Kinetik battery. But will be buying another very soon regardless if i buy this 2nd btl or not. Would 2 battery's be alright you think with 2 sundown 1500's you think or would i have to get a 3rd? Thanks for the response, just informational for me

    12" Loaded BTL amp question.

Probably not a bad idea to upgrade that to 1/0 gauge wire along with the big 3, and more than likely another battery.
  13. smashedz28

    kinetic hc2400

im not 100% but i think the post said if your upping the voltage more than 14.4 or something the kintetiks fail. i got a hc2000 and a high output alt all sitting in boxes I havent installed, i hope everything goes alright, if i ruin my battery with the alt im gonna be pisssed.

    Digital volt meters

if i end up with that thing its getting a cover built lol. not sure what it is.. ive never even used a stinger product before.. but for some reason i dont like the name at all lol. probably cause there shit is expensive and the stereo shops around here will rape you $8 per foot for some 1/0 stinger wire not to mention all the accessories. sure there stuff is good, but im gonna stay anti-stinger LOL.
  15. smashedz28

    Digital volt meters

ill check out summit and jegs, thanks. as far as the tape id rather not go that route lol. i may end up doing that if it gets bad lol. I will need to keep an eye on voltage, just dont want the car behind me to see it too lol.

BTL on order, What size bolts?

im gonna go ahead and hop in here, just got my first tracking email from fi... starting to get that nervous feeling in my gut 1/4 20's you say.. not sure exactly what that means but ill do some research.. will that be big enough to go thru a 1.5inch baffle? and safely mount an 18" btl ?
  24. smashedz28

    2 18 fi q vs ?

i need to stay away from here till my 18" btl gets here lol. reading thru stuff like this, i cant wait till it gets here

    Security With Your System

glad this thread came about, was definitely on my mind while i sit here waiting for my 18" BTL to arrive.. I was planning on bolting thru the box to the vehicle, flush mounted and using some off the wall type of screw to bolt the speaker down with, cant see anyone walking off with the box while the alarm is goin off, and especially when its bolted down. amp's will go under back seats (tahoe)... some tinted windows and hopefully that will be enough. I considered going with insured but that requires full coverage and I dont exactly want to put this vehicle back on that. seems to me just a proper install is the best you can do.
