  1. can anyone else add to this thread for me?
  2. hmm.. that seems like it would work. Is there any voltage loss in your RCA cables using those things? I see it has a power and ground wire which may help with that problem? With sub out pre outs on a HU it has 2 cables.. for a mono amplifier it only needs 1, correct? Could you use each wire to run its own mono amp and get a proper signal to each one?

    What is this sub box?

interesting style of box. wonder what kind of performance comes from a box designed like that.

    Poll for my new drivers

i think you should throw 8 18's in there since you obviously have no budget and space doesnt matter

    Two Thumbs Up For BTLs

Love to see this kind of stuff. Call me a Fi nut hugger all you want, but I love Fi products. More specifically my BTL. I have never competed, but sounds like you did great. Great post.

    Battery or HO alt?

I dont think a second battery would hurt you at all, i would FOR SURE try that route before spending the money on a HO alt.. specially if thats the only amp you plan to run. and like was said 1/0 gauge wire before any of that. .. unless you have the money layin around and you want to buy one. A high output alt would give you some room to grow with your system i would say.

    93 Fleetwood Caddy build.

i love everytime i see this thread pop up on the main screen. this build blows my mind. So much attention to detail. This is by far the best build log i have ever seen. Keep up the good work man. Your car will most definitely be 1 of a kind.
  18. Personally with all the questions you have i dont think you should run 2 3500's. Under powering your subs a little isnt a problem.. i run a sundown 1500D to my single 18" BTL and people are amazed its only a 1500 watt amp, sure it could take more, but i dont see much more making a huge difference. its up to you, dont go off what other people do or think on everything. Bunch of youtube video's may show people doing it but there is alot more to it. just cause one guy can do it doesnt mean you can. I suggest not going over the rated RMS for those subs, if you end up going with 2 3500's then just understand your going to need quite a few battery's, i dont know how many exactly, and you will want a high output alternator no matter what, look at DC Power Alternators. https://www.dcpowerinc.com/ they are some of the best.

    Sub box materials

4 cubic foot box MAY require more than 1 sheet of wood. As said, pre drilling and countersinks help. Clamps are a good thing to have, get some regular ol caulking for where the wood meets. Titebond is a good glue, a square helps when i do them to make sure things are squared. Measure twice and cut once. Good luck and dont forget to take pictures. edit: screws i normally use is the 1-5/8 black drywall screws.. may or may not be the preferred screw but its what i use and havent had any issues with them yet.
  20. with this being a very new system to you I dont think you should go throwing 3500 at each sub your first go around. Have you considered extra battery's and possibly a high output alternator?
  21. I had a local craigslist kid build it, did excellent work and im thinking i paid 250 or so for it, its been a while i forget. Since then ive starting building my own boxes and its ALOT cheaper.
  22. there is one guy here that is preparing for a warhorse i believe. take a look.
  23. thats a whole lot of questions I honestly dont have a great answer for. Im sure someone will jump in here and help you out.
  24. If you dont know alot about car audio that amp isnt for you, your going to need multiple batteries to run that thing, multiple alternators and an un godly amount of 1/0 ga wre run throughout your vehicle. I could imagine easily matching the price of the amp if your lucky in electrical upgrades.... rms on the BTL is 2000rms not 3000... unless you bought some N3's.
  25. smashedz28

And I thought AQ would be good

if you have a friend with a system you can swap amps for a minute with, if the amp works in their car then something in yours isnt right, or swap it with another amp you may have.. you get the point.
