I'm ready to tackle the electrical system of my 2011 Malibu. Under the hood battery is a weird group 75 battery. I'm either going to try and modify for a slightly larger battery or just spend the ~$200 die hard platinum that will fit as is. Thing is I'm trying to do this on a slight budget and its gonna be cheaper to use different brand batteries. Just going to put 1 in the trunk. I plan to only use sealed AGM style batts just possibly different brands and sizes.. Any trouble I can avoid here?

I've followed Kevin here before he did skar. He was no good then. A 3 page thread on his cs doesn't even get 1 post from him. Sad. I was out of town and stopped by a nice shop who mentioned the idea of stocking skar. Laughed and told him to read up on the guy here at ssa.

All depends on the person cutting it for you. Had one guy that cut all my pieces dead on. Another who totally messed it up.

I notice a huge improvement. Glad that's taken care of it was getting bad.

Got my eye on a BL 15 on Craigslist. Guy tells me the plastic piece that holds the sub terminals in place is broken.. Seems like an easy super glue/silicone fix but I'm worried what may have caused it.. He didn't seem to think it was a problem as if he has been running it just hanging there. I wouldn't think you would want those hanging? What do you guys think about that? Is it an easy fix? Would you purchase this sub? Pics look perfect but he mentioned the prob which has no pic. He's asking $200 for the sub

I'm pretty sure alpine has the option to run amp power or hu power. Really dig into the options on the deck for a setting. I had an alpine several years ago that had the option. I've also somehow blown the RCA outputs on a deck before but never to where it wouldn't work with hu power.

Got a dc power 250xp so I'll be able to give them a little more. My cars just not wired or anything yet, his is so we used my subs in his car. Both trunk cars. Decisions decisions

I'm looking to put a single btl 15 in my trunk. I planned on 2 sa12's but after hearing them im not happy. I want something that hits a lot lower. It's a trunk car and sub will up fire. Going to run my bc2000 to it if it's able to properly fit back there. Dimensions..13" height x 37" width x ~35 depth. Is that enough room to fit a btl 15 n2 in there with the proper port? I prefer a lower tune. 2nd, the btl has a mounting depth of 9.625". Will that put the magnet too close to the bottom of the box? I have experience with a UFO btl 18 in another vehicle so I'm pretty sure this is the route I want to go, but if the space isn't there I'm not going to waste any money on it. Thanks

It's not that it doesn't hit the frequencies. It's the feeling I get when I lay into them. The air movement, pressure. Just a type of bass. I mean maybe a different box with a different tune may work but I'm just not feeling these subs. I used to have a single sa12 in my truck and it sounded good but just didn't hit as obnoxiously as I wanted. Most of my comparison is to my 18 btl in an suv. I know that's no where near even playin field. We also have a single Treo ssx 12 that we have had in there. Monster sub. Has a tone to it I can't exactly see those sa's doing. Probably the box. I'm playin with a pair of mid level woofers. I want more. Can a btl 15 fit into the above space properly? With the port volume needed?

The box is roughly 4 cubes tuned to 34 hz. So your saying the box isn't tuned low enough?
