    A Little warm up project

    Badass
  2. I'm going to be installing my focal ps165 component set into my 03 tahoe. My plans are to use the supplied crossovers. I will be using a baffle and possibly deaden the doors in the near future when time and money allow. I have seen several installs in tahoes where they mount the tweeter right above the mid in the doors. My vehicle has room for that but came factory with tweets in the pillars. Not sure which route to take. Doors or pillars? I have read where putting them with the mid is best? I know this may boil down to personal preference but I don't exactly know what to expect from either.

Location for tweeters in 03 tahoe

It is in standard mode. Fuck it. Not spending anymore on something I know nothing about. Just isn't the time for me to be opening up several cans of worms for myself. Thanks for your input I'll stick with my original plans.
  4. Flush mount is just an extra piece of wood on the front of your box with a slightly bigger circle cut. Makes the sub appear even with the wood (flush) Double baffle is double front also. More meat to screw the sub into. Stronger box. Kerf is usually a rounded port edge. Something like this

I don't have good advice except to include more information. What vehicle? Goals? Placement options? Anything else that may help these guys help you.

I'm probably off topic a little but I just got the deck put in today. Pioneer x5700bhs. Double din. This unit has most of the features my 80prs has. Time alignment and looks like decent crossover section. It does not let me independently change l/r like the 80prs. Has network and standard modes. Does this mean its active capable? My main reason for not going active besides never doing it was I didn't want to buy a processor. If this unit is able to handle it? maybe I should just pull an extra set of wires to the doors? Will be amping the set with an older fosgate 600.4 Edit: also not willing or capable of aiming the speakers outside of stock locations. Maybe active isn't for me? Not sure with what I have available I can make this set sound better than using the supplier crossovers. Not to mention I paid almost $400 for this set. Would be pissed if I blew one learning something new. So confused lol.

    Mounting amps in a tahoe

Sure! I'm probably a few weeks out if I'm lucky. I have a good idea of how I'll do it just trying to see how other people have done it.

    Mounting amps in a tahoe

i have an 03 tahoe and am thinking about mounting my amps under the back seat. I'm interested to see how others have done it. Do you guys just screw right down to the floor to mount the board the amps sit on? Having trouble finding anything other than meades sons vehicle for reference.

Frame? As in the metal bars that support the back seats? I didn't put a lot of thought into my post I appologize. Not liking the idea of screwing into the floor but may be the best way here. Also very interested to see pictures of them already complete as far as construction and wire routes.

    Two Sa10's or 1 Bl 15?

I have a 2011 Malibu. Prob same trunk. I've been fighting this trunk for a while. Currently have 2 sa12s in mine. About 4 cu ft. Firing forward. Sounds ok. Never put a 15 in the trunk yet so I can't compare. Forward firing port on driver side with that seat down is the best I've got it. Currently have sweatshirts stuffed around the sides to semi seal it off. If I was to do it again I would use higher grade subs.

    BL 15 Magnet cover?

Really too bad it's not like that now. I would be mad and I love every Fi sub I've had.

    SMD DD-1

Well it is made of plastic. Probably kinda light. Never implied it was good for that, just can't argue that value. I don't use paperweights. Well it is made of plastic. Probably kinda light. Perhaps a wrestling prop where someone can slam it down and watch it shatter in a thousand pieces would be most useful. I bet we could measure the sound of it slapping the floor at 40hz then I have many other things that I'd rather measure with my Acoustic Camera...however, if someone donates one for the smash perhaps you could convince me differently. I would almost blow $150 on a new one just to watch a video of you doing it. I got an idea, lets take up donations from everyone who's willing to pay to see it!! I'll drop

First 4th order! (Bare with me)

Why a 4th? What vehicle will this go in?
  21. Mine was kerfed, double baffle, about 4 cu ft braced.
  22. I paid a member here once for a box. If I remember he gave me a great deal around $230 shipped. No longer building enclosures tho.
  23. Crossovers and an EQ are 2 different things. Unless you have a processor and are comfortable with an active setup use the supplies crossovers
